A Two Short, Too Different Spring Break Trip (Time to Say Goodbye)

Hope the math testing goes well! :goodvibes

Love all of the beautiful pictures in honor of Earth Day! I did see something at Epcot about the movie - the sand sculptures - and took pictures. It was very cool. :thumbsup2

Good Monday morning, all!
This is a big day.
It will be a Math Monday for me, as the kids start out today with two 60+ minute Math sections.
Keep your fingers crossed that they remember all the little hints I've taught them.
Then cross them again and hope that I get moved down and that this is my last TCAP test ever!
It is extremely stressful to have your job performance based on what 8-9 year old children do.

Good luck to your class today and hoping that you get moved down.

This is why I hate standardized testing; that, and some children just don't test well so even though they know the material they flunk the test. It's crazy. My stepdaughter would get so stressed out over EOGs. She'd get stomach aches and miss days from school because of it (which is counterproductive IMO but her Mom let her do it). We'd tell her to just do her best and that the test wasn't really about how much she knows but how well the teacher was doing her job, which I think is crazy too. LOL She always ended up doing well.

Love the pictures this morning!

MeMom--I'm really enjoying all of your pictures of DHS. Neither DH or I are big fans of the park, our last 3 vacations we went in the park long enough for Fantasmic and that was it. The last time we really did DHS was May 2007. I think we'll need to spend some more time there in September, however I think we'll be at Playhouse Disney and not in line for Tower of Terror. Our trips are definitely changing! Love the nature pictures too, I would love to see Disneynature's Earth as well. Good luck with testing!

Jill--Love the pictures of Brooklynn and Bella, I am missing Carter being that size! Congrats on the successful yard sale.

Krista

I love your nature pictures Memom. Of course, Jill's pictures are prettier. Brooklynn looks so happy with her baby. Is she not at all jealous? They are both precious. I love to read what you right about them. You can tell you love them so much. They are lucky little girls.

Good luck with testing this week MeMom! I hope that you get to move down a grade!

Jill, both girls look adorable together! Congrats on the yard sale :goodvibes

Good luck with the Math testing MeMom. That's a long time for 3rd graders to sit still. I hope they all do well. Great pictures to look at early this morning!

Hope the math portion went well today, MeMom!

I agree about your job performance being based on what children do -- in my case, it is based on what 12-14 year olds do on a test!

Beautiful pictures -- doubly enjoyable after a morning of testing! :goodvibes

Hope testing went well...my sweeties worked very hard today. They have Math left on Wednesday.

Love the Villain Shop pictures. I never noticed Ursula, I am going to have to find her. :thumbsup2

Just go in and look up! :goodvibes

Aww, I love this pic. Brooklynn is such a happy, proud big sis!

Sounds like the yard sale was a big success!

I really enjoyed seeing your nature photos, MeMom. There are so many beautiful things to see in WDW! :goodvibes

There are - especially in Epcot at F&G time and in Animal Kingdom all the time!

NO WAY!!!!!!!!! You will have to let me know what your dates are!!

Oh my gosh, they are just the sweetest!!!!!!!

Bella just sort of leans over whichever way Brooklynn decides to hold her and we grab a shot or two before she goes all the way down.

I love that Mickey purse! So pretty. :) Great pictures MeMom.

Glad you are enjoying the purses. It's fun to look at them again.

Good evening, I have worked all weekend, so I had to get caught up. ;)

I havn't been to a yard sale in ages, I love to find treasures.
It's magical that you found Disney friends there. They were meant for you, to find them. Ready for Brooklynn to love.

I have to say, we have Abu! Ours looks a bit different. My son's first word was AaaBU, not Mommy. :lmao: Very true, he was his buddy and came with us everywhere. :rotfl:
Thanks for reminding me of how adorable he was before he grew up into this teenager. (sorry, I'm a little bitter, I found out he skipped a class on Friday....) Don't see that face here on the DIS very often.

Thanks BrooklynnsMommy for posting the pics of your cute little girls. Cute Marie outfit on Bella. Brooklynn is the happiest big sister. Adorable smile.

Ahhh, Disney bags....my heart just beat faster.....fun fabric style. :lovestruc

I have a new apreciation for 'Villians' because of Punkin. :) I'm sure she loved seeing those tees.

Good luck with the testing, let's hope the kids soaked in all of your good teaching. :thumbsup2

They were meant for us, and the price was unbeatable.

I'm not a villains person unless I'm at the MNSSHP and the Boo To You Parade. Then I think they are pretty cool!

Such cute pictures of the two sisters!!!
I love your update pictures too, you are the Queen of shopping pictures MeMom!!!

Starting week 3 of my maternity leave today... I'd really hoped baby would have appeared by now!!! But he's in an awkward position so not sure he/she will be here for a while yet!

Joo xxx

We're waiting patiently, sort of. Can't wait to see another sweet little baby among our midst.

Lovely pictures this morning, MeMom! :goodvibes I really want to go see the Earth movie this weekend. :goodvibes

I do, too, and they'll plant a tree if you see it by the 28th, I think.

I've got my fingers doubly crossed (but I am not a double crosser ;) ) for you! Hoping for a marvelous Monday!

We'll hope all that crossing up things worked!

Good luck...your baby will be here before you know it! And then all the sudden he or she will be almost 7 mos old:sad2:.

Memom....such pretty Disney flowers...is it Feb yet??

And then 7 years, and then 17!

My pictures don't do the flowers justice.

Hope the math testing goes well! :goodvibes

I have some sand sculpture pictures for later in the week. It was cool.
Are you taking the boys to see the movie?

Good luck to your class today and hoping that you get moved down.

Love the pictures this morning!

Yet the testing becomes more and more a part of the pressure. Because of our demographics, a lot of our top kids move into other systems or into private schools, which then makes our scores fall, which makes us look bad, and so on and so on.

MeMom--I'm really enjoying all of your pictures of DHS. Neither DH or I are big fans of the park, our last 3 vacations we went in the park long enough for Fantasmic and that was it. Krista

Maybe you could do the Hollywood and Vine meal breakfast with the Playhouse Disney characters, too. It's the park we probably spend the least time in overall, but with the addition of Toy Story, it makes it more appealing for some in our group.

I love your nature pictures Memom. Of course, Jill's pictures are prettier. Brooklynn looks so happy with her baby. Is she not at all jealous? They are both precious. I love to read what you right about them. You can tell you love them so much. They are lucky little girls.

They are dearly loved little girls, no doubt!

So far Brooklynn hasn't shown jealousy. This will be good for her to develop some patience, for which she is not known for having a tremendous amount of. It is good for her to have to wait her turn sometimes at home, just like she does at school.

Good luck with testing this week MeMom! I hope that you get to move down a grade!

Jill, both girls look adorable together! Congrats on the yard sale :goodvibes

Thanks. I hope this is my last TCAP for the rest of my life!

Good luck with the Math testing MeMom. That's a long time for 3rd graders to sit still. I hope they all do well. Great pictures to look at early this morning!

They did okay on Day One. I'll let you know about Day Two. Tomorrow is the Reading and Language test - two sections again.

Hope the math portion went well today, MeMom!

That is scary. They're old enough to seek revenge on you for making them upset about something! :rotfl:

Hope testing went well...my sweeties worked very hard today. They have Math left on Wednesday.

It was an okay day. Two days of it, though, and they'll be a little more antsy tomorrow afternoon, I bet.

Today was the kickoff for Week of the Young Child at Brooklynn's school. So they had a balloon release.

The balloons in the lobby waiting to be distributed.

I would definitely recommend the first Playhouse Disney show of the day. It is usually the least crowded leaving lots of room for little ones to dance. Also we did the Hollywood and Vine Playhouse Disney breakfast last October with Brooklynn. We got the latest breakfast reservation they had and it was wonderful! All the characters stayed and hung out at our table for a good long time. It was great!

Ahhh, this brought tears to my eyes!!! How sweet and what a great idea! Brooklyn did a very good job of holding on tight to her purple balloon! Chelsea, Connor, and I will be sure to wave to it when it passes overhead! :thumbsup2

Aw, that's so cute! Looks like it was a fun day. I think my little guy would've wanted me to get his balloon back! :lmao:

Hugs MeMom for getting through one day of testing....

What a beautiful sight to see all the children and thier balloons. All the kids look amazed. Too cute. ;)

Love all the Nature pics today. Puts me in a good mood. :goodvibes

Those pictures are wonderful! Hey how come a balloon can't travel down here? I feel so left out :(

My two cuties.

IMG_0150.jpg

Now that is totally adorable!!!!!

Memom, Love the nature pictures from this morning. Such beautiful flowers. And Brooklynnsmommy I love the balloon release pictures. The kids are all so cute staring up at the balloons flying away!!!

My youngest is taking proficiency tests this week. Is that what your TCAP's are? I know this much, she sure hates them. Can't say as I blame her. I think I'll take her out for breakfast before school tomorrow just to start her day out better since she has to test all day.

Hi! Long time lurker here who had to come out to tell you good luck on your testing. I taught 3rd grade here in NC for 5 years before quiting to be a SAHM.:teacher: Our tests are called EOGs (end-of-grade tests). You're right. It is so stressful and so unfair to be judged based on what an 8-year-old does on a test. If I ever go back to teaching, it WILL NOT be a testing grade!!! I feel for you and will say a prayer that you will be spared next year! :flower3:

Your comments really got me thinking about all that stress from my teaching days.:guilty: :sad2: :sad1: :scared1: I said I was going to go back to teaching once my DD started school. Well, she starts kindergarten this fall....................  ..................so I'm thinking I need to get pregnant again and buy myself 5 more years before I have to return!!!!:lmao: Yes, even sleepness nights, poopy diapers, ear-piercing screams, spitting up and the like would be better than EOGs!:rotfl:

Good girl for waiting patiently, Brooklynn. MeMom is proud of you!
I know one of your friends didn't wait patiently and he lost his balloon.

Weren't they sweet? Although, with all my Earth awareness research this week, I've been thinking about where all those balloons ended up. I'm going to imagine that they all fell safely into balloon recycling bins all over the city, and they will be made into new balloons for next year. ;)

Aw, that's so cute! Looks like it was a fun day. I think my little guy would've wanted me to get his balloon back! :lmao:

Brook looks like she was trying to pinpoint her exact purple balloon in one of the pictures.
She may have wanted hers back, too!

Hugs MeMom for getting through one day of testing....

Yep, one down and three to go!

More nature pictures tomorrow.

Those pictures are wonderful! Hey how come a balloon can't travel down here? I feel so left out :(

Brookie's purple one did! It went over all the Georgia peeps, over Mickey's place, and should be landing safely in a trash can in your backyard any minute now!

Now that is totally adorable!!!!!

Yeah, proficiency tests. They are so fun. Everybody from administration to custodial staff is tense this week. We've done all we can do. It's time for the kids to shine now!

That was precious Jill!!!!! Tell Brooklyn I was looking for one in my backyard and I couldn't find it so it must have flew all the way to Mickey!!:rotfl:

I think it went over when you were cooking supper and you just didn't see it.
Or maybe you were still doing all that dancing stuff from the other night. Something about Margaritaville, I think.

I'm very glad for two things. One, I'm glad you came out of lurkdom! Two, I am glad you are able to be a stay-at-home mom! Yes, buy yourself another five years. You won't be sorry!

Whenever you go back, I hope you get a non-testing grade.

Sleepless nights, poopy diapers, screaming, spitting up...all of that is sounding very familiar to me right now for some reason. My former baby girl/present-day mommy has been going through some of that herself lately. :lovestruc

Good morning.

I hope that these guys are having a great life and the very best of care in our Happy Place!
