A Two Short, Too Different Spring Break Trip (Time to Say Goodbye)

Honestly, I am glad I am having a girl too. I thought it would be so nice for the boys to have another brother, but that's an awful lot of testosterone all in one house. I wanted the girl for me. I am so looking forward to pink and ruffles and Bibbity Bobbity Boutique!

The pink will be a fun change, but with two brothers, I picture the day she'll be wearing a ballerina tutu, shin guards, and a cowboy hat all at once!

I bet she captures her daddy's heart very quickly!

And this was over the course of 24 hours!

Jill used to have little parties with her friends. The boys would join in for a minute and endure it if there was real food, but if it was just the fake stuff, they were no shows!

So exciting! Everybody needs a girl... and I remember that feeling of just surprise when we found out we were having a boy. So happy for you!

I know it doesn't work out for everyone, but I am glad I was able to parent both boy and girl children. They are very different and wonderful experiences.

We have heard that there will be one second grade and one first grade opening, so I hope I will know before the year ends so that I can clear a lot of stuff out. I'll be teaching summer school, so I'll be in the building all through June. I'll have plenty of time to switch rooms, if needed.

Great news on our trip! I just checked Southwest and our flights had gone down in price by ten dollars. So four tickets down and four tickets back - I just saved $80!!!!!!

$80 toward Christmas tickets.

I thought about you both this weekend. We were in Nashville at the Opryland hotel for our church Lads to Leaders convention. Of course, I had to make a stop at Opry Mills. Yes, do tell -- were there merchandise sales??? Please say there were lots of them!

Jill, that's awesome about the tickets -- more souvenir money is always nice!

I'm not MeMom (obviously! LOL) but other TRs I've read have said that there have been good discounts on merchandise. And I know from all the e-mails I get for the Disney Store there are lots of discounts.

Hannah and I were at our local Disney Store yesterday just browsing and they had stuff 40% off. I was dying to buy up T-shirts at $5.00 but I was broke. LOL

Well girls, I guess I have failed you, because I really didn't notice so many sales. I had a short list of things I wanted to get, and other than taking pictures of things and browsing, I didn't pay so much attention to the prices and discounts. I can't recall anything I got being on any particularly awesome sale.

Now at the Disney Store here at Opry Mills, they are always having sales. They have some good prices on t-shirts and kitchen items usually.

and just wandered around enjoying the atmosphere.

Then it was time to pay our respects to Disney beginnings

and to those who began creating all this magic.

The new D23 stuff.

We then watched the Walt Disney movie, which I had not seen before.

I don't really remember much about it, to be honest. I think once we got sat down, we both may have dozed just a little bit. Maybe I can try to see it again this summer when I am more rested. You know how it is when you are so tired and you get into a dark, still attraction, right?

Would like to ask you, what area of the hotel do you think I should ask for? I would like to be near Classic Hall, the Food Court, Pool (I have a 7 yr old). Morning to all!

I have some sad news to report, I had to change my trip from 11 nights to 7 nights.

I looked at my finances and I had to make a little cut. (thanks to the washer/dryer...)

I am still excitted about the trip and I will plan for next year to be longer.

Now I have to decide which ADR's to cut from my list, it's hard because I want to try them all.

I also love that no matter who takes the pictures, they are always of different things I didn't take of One Man's Dream. It's neat!

This happened to me in College. I had an Art History class that was from 8-10am (thats early for a college student---not for a mommy now though) in a darkened theater with comfortable theater seats that slightly reclined. It was all I could do to keep from falling asleep during that class!

I haven't ever done One Man's Dream either. I can't wait to check it out and learn more about one of the coolest men ever, Walt Disney. Don't feel bad MeMom, I fell asleep for awhile in the Muppet's 3-D movie. I think it's the combo of an early morning along with a cool/dark theatre.
