Thank you, glad to know that you're enjoying my ramblings!!:)

When I last left off, we'd just finished with dinner at Whispering Canyon, and were headed back to the resort for the evening. Once we got back, I decided to take pics of our room, which is something I do on every trip. So here's what our "crib" for the weekend looked like:

I really loved the room, and was very happy that we decided to save on points by going with the Studio instead of a 1-BR. There was plenty enough room for us, and the little kitchenette was a plus as well!!

Next, I took pics of everything that we'd picked up from the Expo earlier in the day. Here's everything that was included with Mike's ChEar Squad package:

And then everything that was included in my bag:

Lastly, a close-up of the Marathon Weekend Pin:

After settling down and finding something good on TV, we decided that we finally had room for the dessert we'd brought back from WCC. We popped them in the microwave just long enough to warm them up. Honestly, I really didn't like it at all. It just tasted yucky! I don't know if it would have been better if we'd eaten it at the restaurant rather than letting it get cold then re-warming it, but either way, I was a little disappointed. Maybe it was just a sign that I didn't need all that sugar right before bed.

We sat around and rested for a few minutes and watched a little TV before we finally called it a night.

Next up, a much awaited breakfast at Kona Cafe and a day in the Magic Kingdom!

loved the room pics. It looks so homey. Very nice. I was thinking of getting my mom the chear squad package what did you or your dh think about it. Worth the money. How was the experience. Good views etc. Also do you remember the cost and the differences between gold silver etc. Would love any info or comments about that.
Cant wait to hear more about your trip.

Signing on, I have been talking about doing the Disney wine and dine half marathon in October but can't get motivated. You are inspiring:yay:

Can't wait to hear about the rest! The marathon is definitely one of my goals, but I am going to have to live vicariously through you for now! :surfweb:

Nice room!!! I think were gonna buy DVC when our house is done Ill have to check out SSR!! cant wait to hear more

Hey, neighbor!:wave2: I just realized that you had this TR. Love the pics. I'm still working on my TR, but kinda slowly, but surely. Been busy getting DD ready for Prom, etc. So I'll get caught up soon.

Hope you'll take pics and make a TR of your trip to Disney HHI! I want to go there so you'll have to tell us all about it!

I'm glad you enjoyed the room pics. I always take lots!!

As far as the ChEar Squad package, if I remember right, the gold level was $50. Basically, the difference between the silver and gold is that gold had access to reserved viewing areas near the castle and at the finish line. To be honest, Mike told me that he was very appreciative that I got the package for him, but there wasn't anywhere on the course that he could get to that everyone else couldn't. So to answer your question, unless you really want all the goodies that come along with it, then the package really isn't worth it.

Wow, thanks for the nice words. I never imagined myself as being inspiring! I think it will definitely be worth it! I understand that getting motivated is definitely hard at times.

can't wait to read about the marathon!

Thanks! I can't wait to write about that part...hopefully I'll get it up soon.

Joining in! :cool1:

Hi, Denise. Thanks for joining...glad to have you here!!

That's a great goal to have. I'm sure you won't regret it once you do it!

I think you'll be very happy with DVC if you decide to do it. Both my DH and I agree that it's one of the best things that we did.

Hey there! I'm glad you found your way over here! I'd love to see some pics of your DD going to Prom. I bet she was beautiful and I hope she had a great time.

We actually just got back from HH yesterday. And yes, I will be doing a trip report as soon as I finish with this one. I'll say this...we really hope to be able to go back soon...that place is awesome!

Hello, everyone! I want to apologize for not having updated lately. My DH and I just returned from taking my Mom and her BF to Disney's HHI yesterday where we had a wonderful, wonderful time. I am about to begin working on a new installment though, and hope to have it posted as soon as possible!!

We were up bright and early this morning, ready for breakfast at Kona, followed by a day in the Magic Kingdom!

We were showered, dressed and out the door by 7:15. Our ADR wasn't until 8:05, but I wanted to make sure that we'd have plenty of time since we'd have to walk to the Poly from the MK.

As we waited for the bus to arrive, I crossed the street and took a couple shots of the empty pool area:

Everything was so quiet and serene. And I loved how our surroundings had that early morning glow, as the sun was still rising and reflecting off everything.

Before long, the bus had arrived and we were on our way to breakfast. The driver dropped us off at the MK, and we made the short walk over to the Poly.

We were right on time and checked in right away.

We were seated immediately, and there were only 3 or 4 tables at most already seated. Of course, I had to get a pic of the Lilo & Stitch statues since they are 2 of my favorites!

Since I'd read so many great reviews about the Tonga Toast, I already knew what I was having. And I'd talked it up to Mike so much that he was ordering the same thing!

Within a few minutes, our waiter finally made it to our table. He asked if it was our first time dining at Kona, and it was. He also asked if we were on the Dining Plan, to which we also replied yes. I would have figured at that point that he would have taken the time to go over the menu with us, but he didn't. Instead, he just took our orders and left.

I was so excited to finally be trying the famous Tonga Toast, so fortunately, it arrived pretty quickly. We both decided to have bacon on the side.
IMG_3607.jpg

It was definitely sweet, but good. The only thing I would change is to put less bananas in the middle. I like bananas okay, but not a lot of them. Actually, if you could order it without the bananas in the middle, it would be absolutely perfect!

We finished our meal within no time and were ready to go. We ended up sitting there for a few minutes before our waiter finally came back around and re-filled our glasses. We told him that we were ready for our check, so he left for a few more minutes before he finally brought it back.

I really like Kona, but unfortunately the not so great service left something to be desired. I guess he was just having a bad day, but we weren't going to let it ruin our day! We paid the bill and were on the monorail back to the MK by 8:35!

Great update! We also own at Saratoga, it was great seeing your pictures of "home" :)

I totally agree with you about the Tonga Toast - I like it, but would LOVE it without the bananas. Something about cooked bananas throws me off!

Looking forward to the rest of your trip!

loved the early morning pics, so peaceful looking. I am seeing a trend here of the service at KONA. Almost everyone comments on the good food but horrible service. :confused3

Well, hello neighbor! I'm glad that you enjoyed the pics of our home. We really had a lot of fun "discovering" the resort!

I'm glad that I'm not the only one who doesn't care for the bananas in the TT. For me, it's the same way with Banana Pudding...just give me the pudding and the Nilla Wafers, you can keep the naners!

Too bad about the disappointing service. One of these days I must try Tonga Toast!

Yes, it was a little disappointing, but maybe we should give it another try in the future. At least the food was good!

I thought the same thing about the pics--everything was so peaceful...I love seeing Disney like that.
Hmmmm, strange that there's such a trend at Kona. Hopefully it will turn around.
