A Totally Different Kind Of Report

Tweety, those folks were suffering from upscale Disneyitis. Back home we are not loathe to eat chicken with our fingers or pinch open a potato but somehow some folk think that Disney is too fancy for such things. :rotfl:

I see posts where folks are obsessing over what to wear and all. Us Veterans know that the only hard and fast rule that Disney has is that our credit cards work. :woohoo:

You know, I don't know that was really the case. It was a very casual event. Remember "Dukes of Hazzard chic"...they seemed genuinely confused about how to open those gosh darn taters! I, on the other hand, have no problem man-handling a good tater!

And you are so right about the credit cards!:thumbsup2

So, on to Epcot we went for a full, wonderful afternoon. I now know the joy of Park-Hopper passes (something most of you probably take for granted), but despite having been to Disney World many many times, I've never gone for more than a day at a time. How cool is it to hop from one to another?? (although it took some thinking about how to handle parking). We decided to park at Epcot where we knew we would end up. Took a bus to Animal Kingdom, then a bus to Epcot. The only trick is to remember where you parked. (an easy task if you have a husband who isn't trying out the Epcot drinks like you are). :thumbsup2

After having lots of fun, we found ourselves in France, when I spotted the infamous Disboards kiosk...You would've though I was a pointer dog or something when I saw where the Grand Marnier slushie was! :yay: It was a bit of wait in line, but all I can say is...YUM YUM YUM! Anyone who has ever liked a creamsicle...this is creamsicle adult-heaven. :cloud9: Admittedly it's a tad expensive ($8.45+ tax+$9.00). It's worth it. Really worth it. :woohoo: Hoping husband doesn't want a sip, worth it... Making slurping sounds worth it.

Shortly thereafter we found ourselves in Germany. Husband wandered off to find a bathroom or something, and I found myself with a wine flight. I don't remember the details, but it was red, and I liked the pinot noir the best. Cost was $8.00. Husband came back just in time for one sip. ;)

Somehow we managed to get hungry again. We had by now, worked our way back to The Land, and Soaring (hoping to get on it). Too long of a wait, and visions of Cheese Soup and Pretzel bread in Canada got to me, so I convinced husband we should walk all the way back, because I had READ that a kiosk existed that had the soup. I knew there was no way in heck we'd get in Le Cellier without reservations, but I felt sure there was some way to get that soup outside of it. Well, to spare any of you some big steps, let me just say that NO, there is no such thing. Maybe during a special festival, but otherwise NO. :sad2: It was a lot of steps, and we tried, but the impossible is the impossible. Sorry!

Besides being hungry, we were determined to get on Soaring, so we went back to the Land, and Sunshine Season for whatever we wanted! Which turned out to be sandwiches! I chose an Italian sandwich. My husband (surprisingly) chose a vegetarian sandwich :confused3 I only wish we could always afford to eat there as this would be good for him! He is the burger-meat type of man...so to order a vegetarian sandwich was incredibly unusual...I was glad for it! Both were very very good, and not expensive at all. Oddly enough the receipt we have is for a "cuban sandwich $6.69, and ham sandwich 7.09". Total with taxes was $19.77. These sandwiches (though not what was described on the tickets) were very very good.

Coming up, the finale to this report...not only the hilarious celeb picture, not only the best food deal in Orlando...but the best drink in the Orlando airport!:yay:

FYI: You can walk into Le Cellier and ask at the front desk for an order of soup and bread sticks to go. You have to add tip, but they will sell it to you

That's good to know...thanks! I thought about trying that, but they looked so darn busy, and we had already wasted too much time chasing after the impossible dream, I didn't want to risk it again. But now that I know the dream IS possible, I'll try that next time. Thanks!:worship:

I would just like to say, for anyone who has followed this report, I have just gotten Collin Raye's new CD, and it's really really good! His version of "Without You"...done as a duet with Susan Ashton, along with his incredibly moving song "She's With Me", are just two of the really great songs on it! So, not only is he a nice guy, smells good, but he keeps making great music!:dance3:

Great read I really enjoyed ur report thanks for taking the time .

Thank you so much for letting me know. It's so nice when people take the time to say something. I can see that the count goes up for people reading it, yet very few say anything, so it is MUCH appreciated!

I really enjoyed your reviews! Thanks for taking the time to post.
I was wondering though What is a Safari card?

Thank you! A Safari card is a membership card, of sorts, to Rainforest Cafes. It can help you out at other Landry restaurants as well. (although not TRex) . I believe it is a ten dollar investment, but the one I purchased years ago, paid for itself quickly. If you go to Rainforest Cafe.com, and click on "Ozzie", it'll tell you about it. The best part is much less wait time to get a table. :yay:

Talking about the Safari card...I learned this weekend that Landry's sold Joe's Crab Shacks, so the safari card is no longer good there.
