A Ton! Of reservations just opened up Nov-Dec!

But by moving it that 5 minutes, you gave up your original (safe) reservation. So by moving it to a glitch reservation, someone else took your original (which then also got cancelled since it was booked by them during the glitch). Your original most likely would have been available again once they released the ADRs again, but was probably scooped up by one of the thousands of people impacted by this.

I modified 2 reservations on 11/3, and neither one was cancelled. I’ve seen others say they modified or even made new reservations which weren’t cancelled. 🤷🏻‍♀️ I think it’s just luck of the draw. Maybe my modification took the place of someone else giving up that reservation for a different time. Maybe they did slightly increase capacity and let 1-2 new reservations or modifications stand. Who knows?!? I’m very sorry for everyone who lost so many reservations. I would be very upset in your shoes as well. We spend so much time planning these vacations and are having to change up so many things in the present environment that something like this is a real blow.

I think it largely depends on the restaurant. Looks like third party owned restaurants are holding (for now), but maybe some others are as well?
 
In addition to losing Topolinos, Beaches and Cream and BOG I made at 60 days for the 5 of us, I lost my special mother-daughter CRT for my 6 year old’s first trip that was going to be just the two of us. I had planned on doing our own little BBB in our room and surprise her with a new dress, then eat at the castle as a special treat since she is already not experiencing Disney at its fullest like my older kids did at her age on our only other trip back in 2014. We are not a Disney vacation family because my husband hates crowds and doesn’t love Disney like I do, so we probably won’t be back until she is a teenager. I have been so upset about her not getting the full Disney experience but have been unable to cancel our trip because we are stuck in a DVC rental agreement. Plus DH wanted to go ahead and go with the lower crowds. Hopefully some pixie dust will come my way and I can at least get another CRT reservation before our trip.

I have lots of dining alerts set up and I’m going to keep checking religiously for openings but I feel like after this debacle, people are going to hoard multiple times/reservations if they can get them and wait until the day before to cancel what they don’t want.

I hope you get some of them back.I think you’ll be surprised what people drop. A lot of times vacations fall through or plans change. Because of the 24 hour rule, many show up during that time.
 
I just talked to a cast member after another 2 1/2 hour hold time; the table that we need is still unavailable to me. I asked to escalate my call to the next level, and there is a hold time of 30 minutes. Cast member told me that the next level will be unable to modify or make any reservation for me, but they will listen to my concerns about this IT error.
 
I’ve had more luck today by searching for a party of 3-4 vs. our small party of 2. Interesting how many more choices I had when I did that so if anyone else is a small party, try that!
 
Was unable to get my original BOG back
after having adj it by 15 min on glitch day. Instead we'll now be eating at Tony's for our last week of Dec trip. Not my 1st, 2nd, or 3rd choice. But at least we have a reservation somewhere. Saddest part is my family is not at all confident we'll get to go with Covid #'s rising. The 25 gift card will make a tiny dent in the bill...but what about those that have more people in their family? Would've rather had a % off the replacement meal with CM assistance to find a TS at the same park/location without having to stay on hold for hours.
 
What a waste of time for being on hold for 2 hours (can't get back those 2 hours). The CM was nice and apologetic but saying "sorry" can't bring back my reservation...

There are NO available reservations for any table service for the day that they deleted my reservation for the park that we will be at !

Maybe the "consolation" of the $25 gift card can cover the Counter Service i'll have to eat at...

Just did this and found a Garden Grill for our EPCOT day by searching for party of 3 instead of 2. That's VERY strange and almost makes me paranoid that the system is whacked out again. However, this would explain how CMs over the phone can suddenly find reservations that we can't see on our own.
 
I still haven't lost any reservations and I made a 5:55 Liberty Tree Tavern and a 6:30 Beaches and Cream, so I'm sure they reservations that were not available before the glitch. The only thing I can think of is that I made them after they said the site was down, but on the app if you just continued to press "dismiss" on the pop up after each step it let you proceed making the reservation.

I'm so sorry for all the people who lost so many reservations! That must be so frustrating. I hope you can find replacements.

I would encourage you to call. Last night the I was trying to get my Plaza back, I was offered BOG and CRT - they were late times but it was something. I was not interested in either so didnt take the ADR.

I will add that as a solo traveler, the $100 I got for 4 cancelled ADRs will go farther than someone who has multiples in their party, so while disappointed, I can't be too upset about it I guess

Several of my reservations are for 3 instead of 2. For some reason it is usually easier to find a reservation for 3.

Are you able to remove the third guest or does a CM have to do it? We're just worried that we'll get charged $10 for that no-show. Please bear with me as the last time I went to WDW/all four parks was in 2010 and my mom didn't do any of this lol

Ok. I'm sorry, I haven't really done this, so I'm kinda new to this system. The first time I used MDE was late last November, and since it was kind of an impromptu trip, we made same day reservations.

As far as I know, as long as a member of the party shows up, you are not charged the fee.

When you check in using the app, you’ll indicate how many are actually there and can just put 2 at that time. As long as 1 person shows up, they don’t charge for missing members of your party.
