A Ton! Of reservations just opened up Nov-Dec!

I started getting alerts on my phone at 3:49am Central time and then it was constant from there til they shut it off.

My dog/son accidentally woke me up when they left for hunting about 5 AM Eastern time and that’s when I got on and saw all these great reservations… LOL
 
By no means is this a fact, but they told me it’s possible capacity was just increased
To have increased capacity for tomorrow, they'd need to bring back and re-train/refresh a whole batch of servers, re-configure restaurants, and make adjustments in the kitchen (where they are also practicing social distancing). When Disney does eventually move to increase restaurant capacity, expect it to be slow and steady. They're not going to go from 50% capacity (where they're at now) to 100% overnight. That would be a logistical nightmare.

The availability this morning was an error -- a really big error caused by some routine maintenance they were doing overnight. Now that they've corrected the availability in the system, they're trying to figure out what to do with the reservations from this morning. Am I saying all reservations made today are going to be cancelled? Not necessarily but I wouldn't take a chat CM's response as assurance they won't cancel or adjust any reservations from this morning.

What’s funny to me is how you speak with absolute confidence! Do you run Disney’s it department ?
 
There are people in the big rumors/news thread saying they have firsthand knowledge this was a glitch and Disney is frantically trying to figure out if they can accommodate the “oops” reservations, but it doesn’t appear likely.

They need to let us know something “soon”
It can be a disaster if they have too many reservations...between social distancing issues plus they won’t have the staff to serve all those people.
 
I mean there's no need to be rude. What that poster wrote are realistic expectations. We'll see what happens.

Not exactly. I was looking at Christmas week when the site went down. There were tons of openings in nearly every restaurant. When it started to come up again (still gave errors, but you could skip them and still see openings) it looked almost exactly like last night with only a couple additional openings here or there (people canceling unwanted ones they released after getting the new ones). They definitely removed the ones that were still open during the down time.

Why do you feel the need to attack anyone that doesn’t have the same viewpoint as you on this issue? @andyman8 is a respected insider on this board and has been for a long time. They don’t reveal their sources, but they are generally correct and very well informed about the goings on behind the scenes. If they’re saying it was a glitch, it was a glitch. That’s what I’ve been hearing from friends in the call center as well. It was an update overnight that somehow released dining availability to 100% for the rest of the year. It was caught quickly, but because of social media, it was pounced on and some days (like 12/24 and 12/25) had entire restaurants fill to 100% for the whole day. Those WILL be cancelled. But some will be able to be honored for other days if it raised the capacity from 40% to maybe 55%. But expect a lot of cancellations and unhappy people.
 
Considering everything else occurring today, I was shocked when I opened up the yahoo homepage and they were running a story from Insider on this topic. They're saying it was a glitch.
 
I’m still kicking myself for modifying my homecoming ressie too early that I couldn’t get a ressie to Morimoto Lounge right before it!!
