A Ton! Of reservations just opened up Nov-Dec!

I can obviously wait to call because I'm not going for a while, but there are a fair amount of people who these reservations start tomorrow already for.

I'm honestly curious how many people were actually able to book given the time frame of it all.

Many restaurants booked out full for Christmas Eve and Day.

I'm not an IT professional, but I have had to work directly with IT on major database projects in my career. If they switch over the system at a certain time, I imagine there was a back-up of the data prior to the switch/glitch. At this point, no idea what Disney will do - but, I can't imagine that restoring what was in the system prior to the switch/glitch is an impossibility. Just going to manage my expectations and roll with whatever the outcome will be.

I guess I am going to hold out hope....... Disney is limiting park capacity (under the allowable amount in Florida) and park hopping. I am going to assume the everyone that made a reservation had a park admission (that is limited) that day. And then to take it further how many of those people actually got a reservation between the time it opened (6:00 am) to the time they stopped the bleeding. I had great reservations and I cancelled. I hope they honor it or restore the cancelled reservations. I am fine with either. The only awful outcome is they just cancel and leave me high and dry. I never hold onto reservations (especially at the holidays) I am not going to use so that others can make their plans... this would just encourage that.

I kind of felt it was too good to be true
I wish I hadn’t told my DD..she was really excited when I told her about the reservations..and one was a time change and I canceled the other one...😕

I would still hold out hope for either the new or the canceled reservations. Data never really seems to go away.

i just logged onto the website and was able to search dining reservations. Seemed like before this morning in terms of limited availability for what i had been trying to modify. i also checked and all the new reservations i had made this morning plus the adjusted times for others are still on My Disney Experience as of now. Hope that means whatever was wrong, it is fixed; and that also they are able to accommodate whatever new ressies were made. I for one made two new reservations, and dropped 2 others as well as adjusted the times for 3 existing reservations.

Very strange,..watching local news in New York

There was a story that Disney World raised the capacity for their restaurants since Florida is in phase 3...however they did say they didn’t raise park capacity.

never thought i would see this story on my local news

I was able to login but it shows that there is nothing anywhere for lunch this Thursday which makes no sense.

that is strange. i was looking during Dec 5th -12th timeframe. several choices available, but not at the restaurants i had been looking for and was able to get early this am

As has always been, sometimes when I search "Lunch" nothing pops up, but then I search a specific time (like "12 pm") and available ADRs show up... and vice versa.

As a database professional, I would say you would usually only do a complete restore if something catastrophic happened. Even partial backups will be missing key data and still require some cleanup. And the new system has been live for a couple days now. The "glitch" of more availability happened early this morning.

Yes it must of been round 5:00am because I got an alert of an opening for Smith Arts Homecomin and there were a couple times open.

I started getting alerts on my phone at 3:49am Central time and then it was constant from there til they shut it off.

So do we think our reservations are legit now? And they are expanding capacity in places to eat ?

I'm personally at about 50/50 with this in my head, thinking whether they will cancel them or not. I won't be surprised by anything right now one way or another.

I agree but definitely seems weird if they don’t have these reservations actually available why they would’ve just reopened more on the site?

I'm glad to see that the dining reservation site is back up, hopefully this means they are one step closer to figuring out what they're going to do with this mess and can let us know, rather than keep us hanging.

I know people don’t trust chat but they’ve NEVER said that about capacity since Covid in chat the usually say safety first not that
