What-Rekenna’s Spring 2011 Vacation
First PTR Ever!
Who-Me! My first semi-solo trip. My sister (DSIS), I still call her Sissy and I am 34 and she is 50.
First-semi solo trip
Why-My sister is traveling for business and invited me to stay with her-yay! I was allowed to pick the hotel too. DSIS will join me in the evenings, but I will have the days all to myself. I am so ready for a break, work has been especially stressful. I will miss DH and our 3 boys-YES! I am leaving them ALL at home! I have not one ounce of guilt, however, I have never been away from any of them for 5 nights…
First-away from family
When-March 28 through April 2. I have never been at this time before-from reading on the DIS is sounds like a busy time! At first I was worried, but then I thought, “I have no one to keep up with but me and I have been here before!” No worries! I can’t wait for the sunny weather, winter has been brutal this year and I have had enough.
First-time of year
Where-POFQ for the first time! I have requested a refurbed, corner room-let’s see what we get. This is my first time at a Mod, I have always stayed at the Values and one time at the Dolphin. I’m really looking forward to checking out this resort, riding the boat to DTD, trying the beignets, hmm…yummy!

We have the QSDP and 4 Day Base Tickets-let’s see what we have planned…
Arrival Day (Monday) – DTD, after check-in let’s hop on the boat and try out Wolfgang Puck Express. This is a new one for me, the menu looks great and the reviews make it sound like a great CS option. Shop around at DTD, because I’m sure there is something there I can’t live without. I have never gotten to go to DTD sans kids, so it will be nice to actually look around. DSIS will want to go to the Pin Store-she is fascinated with Pins, I am partly responsible-I introduced her to them. We will pull ourselves away from DTD, if possible, and return to the resort, if there is plenty of time we will drive over to Poly and maybe catch the fireworks from the beach-another new thing for me if it works out.

Tuesday-MK, I WILL ARISE EXTRA EARLY AND GET MY LAZY SELF TO THE FOOD COURT FOR BEIGNETS and then I will make rope drop extra early, I love watching Mickey open the park! I am really trying to focus on taking things in and not thinking about what I have to do next (other than eat-very important!). I am looking forward to-the new HM queue, HM is my favorite attraction; hanging out in Liberty Square, I love this area and although it is very small I still think I have missed things here; Liberty Bell Riverboat and TSI, for whatever reason I have NEVER experienced these attractions; Philharmagic, Donald is the best; Tomorrowland, I love this place, the whole retro cheesy feel of it; Cosmic Ray’s for lunch or dinner and Pecos Bill or CHH for the other meal. Also, I love the QSDP b/c you get 2 snacks which = 2 Dole Whips! I’m in accounting and this is just easy math. I will have to see how crazy it is with crowds to determine if I will attempt Wishes or MSEP.
First-Beignets, Riverboat, TSI
Wednesday-Coolest thing ever-at least to me! I have reserved the Backstage Magic Tour! This is going to be great and this trip was the perfect opportunity for me to go-no one else in my family has any desire to spend 7+ hours learning more about WDW-I know, it’s very sad b/c they are crazy! I was able to get a 20% discount with my Disney Visa. Who wouldn’t want to learn something new about WDW? Also, lunch at Whispering Canyon at WL-I haven’t been here before and am really looking forward to seeing WL for the first time. After the tour, I will meet up with DSIS and we will cruise to AK which is open until 8pm and hopefully we will be able to catch Lion King, Nemo or both-I choose Nemo if we have to decide. If it’s not too late we may be able to work a safari in-but not stressing if it doesn’t work out-I would like to ride Dinosaur though, that’s a fun ride. Thinking Flame Tree BBQ or Yak and Yeti for CS-I will let DSIS choose, but she won’t, so I will choose.
First-Backstage Magic Tour, WCC, WL
Thursday-DHS-yes, I know I am crazy to go to DHS on a Fantasmic! day, but it just worked out that way and I would love to catch Fantasmic! but, will have to make an assessment of the craziness before making a decision. I will try to ride TSM at least once, but I will not get in that crazy RD line for the mad dash-you can almost smell the testosterone from all the people that have been sent for FP slaughter-it’s quite brutal. The only thing I must do this day-arrive early for Indiana Jones and get a good seat, I always get the worst seat for this show! I will arrive early and sit front and center! I want to catch the Belle show and check out all the animation goodies that I never get to. The Great Movie Ride is a must-I know it’s hokey, but I really like it. Ohhh, also I might try to catch a session of American Idol. Eating, eating…I want to try one of those carrot cake cookies for the Writer’s Stop, probably lunch at Backlot Express, I’m sure ice cream will come into play somewhere in there.
First-Good seat for Indiana Jones
Friday-Epcot-once again, I know it is a Friday, and the F&G Festival, but what are you gonna do? I love Epcot it’s just so amazing to me! First thing I will do is get at least one flight on Soarin’. Check out the Land, maybe try the Behind the Seeds tour. Check out the Living Seas. Single rider line on Test Track!!! Go sit with Ellen-I may wait until DSIS joins me for this one. Head over to WS, I am going to do the pick-a-pearl for the first time. I have saved my multiple amounts of $9 so I can get moderately tanked on Grand Marnier Orange Slushies-I don’t drink very often, but I can’t get enough of these-darn you Sam Brown for showing these on the Travel Channel! I did make one ADR for Chefs de France. This is another first time for me and I thought DSIS would like a nice meal after her long, boring week of training. I really want to check out the F&G festival and I’m sure DSIS will be interested in this as well. We will try to catch Illuminations and then head back to the resort!
