A thought for the Day

Effective people are not problem-minded; they're opportunity minded. They feed opportunities and starve problems.

--Stephen R. Covey

Your mind can only hold one thought at a time. Make it a positive, constructive one.--Life's Little Instruction Book

Do you know people who do nothing but complain and criticize? Don't let them get to you. God gave you two ears so things could go in one ear and out the other. Use them.

I like that Dan!!!! Good to remember that "in one ear and out the other" thing during these stressful holiday times!

Dan and DD, I really like those that you posted... very nice :)

Ahhhhh, Buck, if only true.

Bless us Lord, this Christmas, with quietness of mind; Teach us to be patient and always to be kind.

That's funny...........I thought that the saying goes:

"An apple a day keeps the self-righteous and bigots away":jester: :jester:..........

Ancient Egyptians believed that upon death they would be asked two questions and their answers would determine whether they could continue their journey in the afterlife. The first question was, "Did you bring joy?" The second was, "Did you find joy?"

--Leo Buscaglia

Actually,EROS, it's been my experience that those who think they are the least self-righteous and the least boigoted tend to display those two unfortunate characteristics the most. I guess all of us, whether we fancy ourselves liberal, conservative, religious or non-religious have little or no tolerance for those whose opinions differ. Funny, huh?

"When you carry out acts of kindness you get a wonderful feeling inside. It is as though somehting inside your body responds and says, "Yes, this is how I ought to feel."--Rabbi Harold Kushner

TEDSMOM, I'll accept the badge of righteousness around my views. People here may certainly dispense with them as they see fit:D . However, I'm NOT one of the BIGOTS who hide themselves here; with me, what you see.......is what you get:D :D ......

"Only two things are infinite, the universe and human stupidity, and I'm not sure about the former."

- Albert Einstein (1879-1955)

Spreading joy

Life is best when it is filled with giving. We are, each of us, unique, with our own contribution to make. At the same time, we are part of a greater whole. Giving is what keeps us connected.
When we celebrate Christmas today we celebrate a gift given in perfect love and grace. By giving of ourselves, we experience in a profound and undeniable way the joy of that gift.

By sincerely giving, we no longer must merely believe that it is more blessed to give than to receive. By giving of ourselves, we know and experience the reality of that beautiful truth.

Give, not to make an impression, not to fulfill an obligation or to repay a debt, but for the sheer joy of doing so. For it is a joy that will spread far beyond you each time you live and experience it.

-- Ralph Marston
