A Thanks To All!!!

I want to thank others for all of the information I've gotten while lurking here on these boards. Especially here where I got the idea to turn my eBay obsession into a way to finance our Disney trip.

Since I became a SAHM, money has been tight and that is an understatement. Without all of the wonderful tips I received here we would never have been able to do this trip. That's not just fluff, I truly mean it.

The biggest thing that I learned here is that I can have a better Disney experiance if I really earn it and appreciate it instead of opeing the deluge on our credit cards - which is what we use to do.

I've learned not to throw my money away and to be happy with what I have.

Over the past 3 months I have made $3600.00 towards our trip. This weekend is my last for listing items on Ebay before we leave on our trip March 2nd. I checked the Ebay FAQ and I hope this is okay. I figure that this is the Budget Board, so if you are looking for women's cruise wear and clothing I have over 100 items listed.

Wow! $3600 in 3 months. That's impressive! I've been selling on ebay off and on for a year and a half. Do you mind if I ask what you're selling?!?! Just lots and lots of stuff or big ticket items? I've been doing clothing and yard sale stuff. I think I'm going to try to follow your lead and get a little more serious about selling and see if I can't do a little more towards financing our fall Disney trip! Thanks for motivating me!!!

It has not been easy. At a certain point it becomes a numbers game. I have been selling clothing, homeschool supplies, nick knacks, patterns, thrift shop finds, books, books on tape, college text books, craft kits, and everything else under the sun. The biggest thing is just to do it. It really helped to have a goal. When We get back I will be working for a new sofa.

Thanks for the tips. I'm ready to dig my heels in now! I'd be happy with half as much as you've made in twice as much time! I read another post where someone has said they've noticed how much ebay sales have dropped off recently and I had noticed the same thing. Have you noticed this?

I am trying to figure that out. There are good days and bad days. There does not seem to be any rhyme or reason to it. It is definately not predictable. Pricing is also a mystery to me. There have been times when an item did not sell and just for grins I relisted at a higher price and not only did it sell but it caught fire in a bidding war. Once you've got your auctions looking professional and a lot of good feedback accumulated it seems the rest is just random.

I'm glad to hear that you're also having good days and bad days. Seems it's so unpredictable. But I'm glad to know that I'm not the only one seeing this. I do know that it seems the more I have listed overall the more I seem to sell. I have 776 positive feedback / no negatives, so I feel I've gotten my reputation. Thanks again for your tips! I hope I'll do as well, or somewhat as well, as you. It would be great to make enough for our fall trip through ebay!!

You have more sales than I do. I should be asking you for advice. Sounds like we are having the same eBay experiances.
