A Ten Day Ride on A Magic Camel - Almost Finished Trip Report

I have a gross food story. One year in youth group we played a game that you had to guess what was in a the box. Well you could stick your hand in the box and feel what was inside. Well it was tripe. For those of you who don't know what tripe is here is the defanition I copied from wickpedia.
"Beef tripe is usually made from only the first three cow's stomachs: the rumen (blanket/flat/smooth tripe), the reticulum (honeycomb and pocket tripe), and the omasum (book/bible/leaf tripe). Abomasum (reed) tripe is seen much less frequently, owing to its glandular tissue content. Tripe is also produced from sheep, goats, pigs, and deer."

I have eaten some pretty gross things when I was on a missions trip to Indonesia but I did not know what I was eating until I had already eaten it. Dog,(they raise them for food there thay are not pets), bats, and rats, our team leader did not tell us what it was until after we had left the house. He didn't want us to not eat it and offend the people. Now the only taste they had was charcoal because they burn them to a crisp. I would never have eaten it if I had known and I would never eat snails here either.:crazy2:

Memom,
I was trying to think of something grosser than snails, I was think about tongue and maybe pigs feet. But then I was thinking about when I was a kid we went to an Italian resort, they served everybody a pig head called cabootzell they spelling is wrong but that's how it is pronounced . It's an Italian delicacy my grandmother said it is very good. It made me sick I passed on dinner that night and maybe the next also. So I just might eat a snail if I had to choose between the two.
Update; Snail :confused3 Cabootzell:eek: :scared:

I wonder if Italy Pavillion in Epcot serves Cabootzell for food and wine LOL

Memom,
We both posted at the same time about how we would eat snails. I guess great minds think alike.;)

Who does that? :upsidedow Seriously. Who sits around and thinks up how they would eat snails? There's something just not quite right about that! :scratchin

Oh boy! This is just like back in the days when we had slumber parties and stayed up all night telling stories of every kind! :woohoo:

Whose turn is it now???

But, please, no bra freezing.

You ate bats and rats?
I'm making that yucky face again!

He's doing very well. He's gone out with friends, so I guess that's a sign he'll be back to his mischief and messes soon. Now that the swelling has gone down, you can see this bone sticking WAY out! It is gross looking!!! We have to go get the staples taken out of his head Monday. That will probably be kind of 'ouchy', I'm guessing. When they put stitches or staples in, you are numbed, but when they take them out, you're not, and on top of that you're very tender.

It's good to hear Drew is up and about and feeling well enough to be with friends (hopefully not back on a bike yet though)

From my experience, staples don't hurt too bad when they take them out (and trust me, I had A LOT of them with two C-sections!)

I might be able to eat snails if they were deep-fried in a Paula Deen batter and I didn't know what they were and they tasted like chicken. ;)

Spoken like a true Southerner! :thumbsup2

My belief is that if it can be deep fried, I can try it! One of my students brought deep-fried Oreos a couple of weeks ago -- I thought I had died and gone to Heaven they were so good -- I surely hope there are deep fried Oreos in Paradise!

Dancin Princess. You're "at home ju-ju" statement cracked my up!!:lmao: :lmao:

I dont remember what i said but im glad u found it amusing :thumbsup2
It worked! She just called and said it has been a perfect night. I am SO happy! She was looking so forward to this night.
nope still dont recall what i said, was it even me? i dont think so

Nope. I think you're the sole voter.
then does my sole vote count?

Except she said Brooklynn's dance was more like an I.
She got the hint she was supposed to be doing something with her arms, so she just put them straight up. :)

[/QUOTE]

I am looking forward to seeing the video. Hopefully, she can put that on here for everyone who is interested.
im interested :thumbsup2

John keeps a room cold!
Like the 'you can feel it as soon as you open the door' cold.

i liked delivering to those rooms, especially in that Florida heat.

I enjoy this group, too. Maybe someday we will have trips that will overlap so we can put names to faces. I'll have to remember to bring my props for hiding! ;)
:thumbsup2 although i dont think u need any props to hide, we're all friends

and then, being the good citizen that I am, I went to throw some trash away.

I reached for the garbage can, but it was a little further away that I had judged.

Jill came over with a look of sheer terror on her face, but when she saw that I was fine, and that I found it quite amusing, she started laughing.

Not only did she laugh, she proceeded to re-enact the fall. :rotfl2:
In slow motion.
Which made us laugh even more. :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

very nice. (i think u should leave at least this pic up,b/c after all u are in "disguise")

Jill had told me she was going to re-enact my fall again on this trip and film it for you all to see.
:rotfl:

oh, poor memom!!!! i want to give you a hug. that's a pretty good shiner....something to be proud of. from one klutz to another.....

oh, and just so you know, i do things like that even when i'm sober. it's just that it seemed like a HUGE deal when i had consumed a couple of white russians!

im a klutz too, my boyfriend asks me "how do you fall when your sitting" :lmao:

Both pictures will most likely be taken off after today. This is just a quick peek at silliness, and then I'll need to go back into hiding.
what i said earlier

Whew! I am so glad! It's always iffy when I do at-home juju!

It was you. I copied and pasted this from a post you did on page 99 I believe. Didn't want to copy the whole post. You were just very clever and funny!:) Good job!!!

MeMom,

I am sorry to hear about your fall, but at least you have a funny memory from your trip.

I appreciate all the pictures and information about Pop Century. We have never stayed there before. I am really looking forward to staying there in Dec.

JILL UPDATE - This morning, they did the Princess Breakfast princess: at Akershus. She said the food was pretty good and the princesses were all very sweet.

When I talked to her a minute ago, they were again at Epcot after spending a good long afternoon at the pool. I think they've been making very good use of their Food and Wine Festival card. Brooklynn has been happy with Epcot, because she had been on Nemo about five times!

They are eating at San Angel at 5:30, and I'm pretty sure she had told me before that this was one of the meals they were having with Kimberly and Dave and the kids.

She said John's annual pass had been messing up, so they put a bar code on it. If it doesn't go through, they just scan it instead.

Jill said Magic Kingdom is having MNSSHP tonight, and Epcot is having EMH. She said it's not crowded right now, but she knows that will probably change in a little while.

The next morning (after the fall), sunglasses in place, I headed out to Downtown Disney to take pictures while it wasn't crowded and to shop.

It won't look like this for long.

Mousekeeping at its finest.

Jill likes this store.

IMG_2008.jpg

She loves to scrapbook all of her trips.

Surely you realize we do not open at the croak of dawn!

IMG_2009.jpg

Maybe if I am very still the big human in the dark glasses will not see me.

IMG_2010.jpg

Go away, or I will send my Tennessee cousins to make a condo in your attic!

A peaceful morning at the dock.

I wonder how many different places these buckets traveled to.

Lego pictures.

IMG_2022.jpg

I have never seen anyone skateboarding on top of the Sydney Opera House, have you?

IMG_2023.jpg

Did you see the dragon looking over my shoulder in the reflection?

IMG_2024.jpg

And in the reflection of this one, it appears the Lego Dinosaur is about to eat the Eiffel Tower.

Work being done on the T-Rex restaurant.

Is it really fair that he has to sit in plain view of the Crab House all day?

Tucked away in a side window was Timothy Mouse.

That's the same expression some of my third-graders get when they get in trouble.

I think Charleston Princess was the original author (see below), but what we really need to know is if you wore a special outfit while performing said juju.

I am still laughing about Brooklyn's I!

I hope you'll like it. They put up a big tree in the lobby that is a nice greeting when you arrive. Since that's the only resort Trent has stayed at, we're broadening his horizons a little and staying at All-Star Music in November.

Just checked in and heard about your accident! Ouch! What a souvie to bring home with ya...lol. Im surprised it isnt shaped like a Mickey Head!:lmao: Also, I want to thank everyone for their kind words and prayers for my husband. He is doing well over there but working hard.:thumbsup2

I hadn't thought of that! Maybe I should go back and try again.

It's good to know your husband is doing well. Is he somewhere where you can e-mail regularly? E-mail is a wonderful thing!

JILL UPDATE - They are presently making their way to the Pop bus stop at Epcot. Their meal at San Angel was good, but the service was not. She said there have been a few times on this trip that the servers were less than attentive. She said they've had really good service in some places, and then in other places they couldn't get as much as a drink refill.

Oh, I can't reveal the details of the no rain dance juju! ;)

I love all the details you notice at DtD -- like the crab at Fulton's and the reflections in the Lego windows!

I am so sad to hear about the less-than-stellar service at Disney -- that makes me sad :(.

Neat DD pictures. The lego pictures are neat. The T-Rex restaurant looks interesting!

Hee hee...I love the squirrel pictures. We have one that likes to come up on the deck and tease the dogs....one of these days he isn't going to make it to the tree fast enough!

There are so many cool details in WDW. Rides and attractions aside, I could spend days doing nothing but taking pictures.

Well, taking pictures and shopping. There would have to be some shopping.

And eating. I'd have to eat.

Taking pictures, shopping, and eating.
Yeah - that about covers it.

We might try out the T-Rex restaurant next summer. I figure it'll be like Rainforest Cafe, except with big old screaming dinosaurs instead of fish and monkeys and frogs. I'm sure it will be a big hit with little boys, too.

We have a squirrel who uses a branch in the tree outside our kitchen window as a hammock. He gets on the roof, and it drives the cat nuts to hear him scampering around. He feasts on pears that have fallen off the two trees out back. I do not want him setting up camp in my attic, though, and then inviting all his friends to visit. We had a family at church who had a huge fire at their house due to bad wiring caused by squirrel damage.

:lmao: :lmao: Special outfit!:lmao: :lmao:

What - you don't want to see Charleston Princess in straw skirt and mask? I'm picturing some of the natives I might have seen in years past on Gilligan's Island.

I was there as they were opening World of Disney. There was a small opening ceremony, with a little girl and a little boy participating. I believe they got a certificate, too.

Browsing around World of Disney.

How can you not be happy living in Disney World?

I thought these plates were cute, and I wanted to buy a few for some of our parties, but I couldn't justify the money.

IMG_2043.jpg

IMG_2044.jpg

I also wanted to buy these, but I rarely use measuring spoons, so I didn't get them either.

IMG_2045.jpg

I didn't buy any on this trip, but I do have a few of these from other trips.

JILL UPDATE - She is, at this moment, carrying a tray of Mickey waffles and POP waffles back to the room. They have already packed. They're going to eat and head to Magic Kingdom for one last sweep through Fantasyland. Magical Express will pick them up at 11:30.

She said it was very sad to open the door and see that bad envelope hanging there telling them they have to go back to the real world.
