A Ten Day Ride on A Magic Camel - Almost Finished Trip Report

You saw lots of animals on that safari!
Great pictures.

I love that parade too!

I love the music to that parade, and I have it on a CD. When I play it in the car, I can just transport myself right there to Animal Kingdom in a flash. I like the costumes on the Disney characters and the guys on stilts and the crazy looking animals. And I think Donald's boat with the water leaking out of it is cute, too.

Great safari and parade photos. We didn't get to see Donald in the parade- we didn't see the parade as I recall :confused3

Hope your student teacher made out well. Soemtimes its a real eye opener for those supervisors to get in a classroom:rotfl:

What is exactly is a "waxed apple"? This is not a term we Atlantic Canadians are familiar with.

I guess they just mean that light coat of wax over the apple. It's barely there, but if you scratch the surface. you'll see the white wax. I guess it just helps preserve freshness.

As for getting their eyes opened, I think some NCLB people need to come down to the classroom settings and get a big dose of reality!

great pictures!! We discovered the frozen lemonades this past trip in August--I believe my daughter became addicted to them!!:goodvibes

They seem to be especially good on a hot day in Animal Kingdom, too.

I love going out on safari!!! :goodvibes

Us, too. It's a different experience every time, and the simplest thing just makes us happy, like watching a hippo dive under water, having an ostrich come right up to the jeep, seeing an alligator move around, or the rare sighting of the lion up and roaming. Exciting stuff to us!

I love that you share so many pics - share on! :goodvibes The frozen lemonades are sooo yummy. I was wondering what a waxed apple is too?

quote=IluvXU;27434886]BTW there were some cute WDW boy baby stuff so no worries if you have a little boy!

I didn't even pay attention to the fact that it said waxed apple until pooksma said something. I was too focused on the pineapple, grapes, and watermelon - my favorites!

for todays catching up... im starting at post 339...lets see how far i get before my shift is over...

And since you started buying pins i know you wouldnt miss out on Pop Pins. :lmao: I'm sure your pins will bring you daily happiness. Wherever i see Disney it always brings me happiness.

That was my favorite view when i was delivering XCO's early in the mornings before i left. THat and overlooking the lake.

I miss the shadow boxes...and lining up to do the Hustle. Good times. Good TImes.

Its no joke. those birds do get aggressive. they use to chase me down when i was coming back from delivering XCO's. (i dont think they liked me "ending" guests vacations) I dont miss those birds but i do miss the bunnies and ducks (did u get any pics of them)

I'm glad you have computer access again. I love hearing comments from a former CM. I'm sure you do miss morning walks around Pop, even if it was to kick people out!

Hi Memom and Jill! I had to take a little break as my baby brother got married last weekend and I had a million and one wedding things to do before and after the wedding. But I missed Disney and I missed you guys, so here I am. :D

I promise not to stay away so long next time. I missed you guys!!

We missed you, too! I was just thinking Sunday that I should PM you and see where our favorite tie-dyed friends went. I always feel sad when we lose readers, and I always, always, always wonder if I said or did something to run them off. I never want to hurt or offend anyone, or bore them to death with our mundane life stories. I just wonder why people post and seem to be having such a good time and feel at home here, and then they disappear. I wonder about if they're okay healthwise and such, and I want to check in on them, but I don't want to be invasive or nosy. Anyway, I'm glad you're back, too, and your "disappearance" :rotfl: was noticed!

My goodness! It has been awhile since I was able to catch up on the Magic Camel Ride, but Im back now! Between my best friend's motorcycle accident (he will be ok, but I went to his house to help him out...he got broken pretty good and his accident was 3 days after his wife broke her foot:eek: ) and now just finding out that my husband is deploying to Iraq in 15 days Ive been way too busy with life. I have a free minute now so I decided to check in on you girls and there are 67 pages!!! WOW!!! Well, back to reading now!:surfweb:

You have had a lot going on! I'm sorry to hear about your husband having to leave and about your friends and their injuries. I'm sure you were a huge help to your friends. Hopefully, Dising can provide a little dose of happiness here and there while your husband is gone.

another great one.

i say take as long as u need to get all the pics up. u know we will all be here.

Are you playing the "I should have been _______" game these days? I would be doing that every day if I had had to cancel a trip. I would be sulking all over the place saying, "I should be watching Spectro right now" or "I'm supposed to be splashing down Splash Mountain".

But, knowing you have the October trip almost here helps, I guess. Plus, you're probably just not the whiny baby I would be if I had to postpone a trip! :sad1:

I have been to make Biff feel bad. :rolleyes1

it is not so bad being I have the 2 trips coming up

The pool was busy with activity,

IMG_1262.jpg

but I tried to wait until people moved and angled the camera to try to get it as people-free as possible.

IMG_1264.jpg

funny....i feel as though i was just here a couple of days ago. oh, yeah.....I WAS!!!!! :cloud9: that pool was gorgeous.

People next to us got the Kitchen Sink, which was brought out to them with much attention. Everyone applauded the masterpiece.

IMG_1279.jpg

we're getting a kitchen sink when we go in december. we figure, when will be the next time we have 4 adults and a 4-year-old who loves ice cream in disney world all at the same time in order to get one of these??? although that no way jose looks good too!

Jill and I talked to Dawn and Erica a few hours ago. They were in Animal Kingdom. That coincides with our next installment, which follows our little trip to Beaches and Cream, so in honor of them being there today, I'll share some of our day at Animal Kingdom.

i feel honored!!! :goodvibes

Brooklynn not only saw everything in bug vision, she saw everything in upside down bug vision.

IMG_1310.jpg

so flippin cute!!!!!

Good thing Dawn is in Disney World and won't be reading this tonight. You know how she is about b-i-r-d-s.

IMG_1329.jpg

problem is i was at disney world WITH the birds!!!!! you know those black-evil-looking vulture things on the safari near the hippos? well, they were being fed when we went by them and they were SO SCARY-LOOKING!!!!! :scared1:

WOW......you guys had an awesome safari. great pictures! :thumbsup2

today im starting on post 402...i think i'll get further today cause most of my work is done...(hmmm im not sure if its my computer or my luck but a handful of pictures are coming up as [ x ] is it just me?)

You are a few years older than Jill. She was born in 1981. Her first 'Pabbage Catch' dolls were Kelly and Toby. She spent hours with them riding them on the stroller, feeding them plastic Fisher-Price food, reading to them, etc.

and because Jill is hoping to have another baby in 2009. If she has another one in the spring, going later in July gives them a few extra weeks for the baby to be more settled - or them to be more settled.

Jill read all of those Sweet Valley books, too. She read everything she could get her hands on. Trent thought it was kind of stupid to read anything more than the minimum required amount of reading to get by. Drew pretty much broke out in hives at the sight of books! :rotfl:

We had several Care Bears, too. Times were good in Care-a-Lot!

What were your Cabbage Patch Kids' names?

Jill might be having another baby? Sweet! I cant wait to log on and here the good news. :woohoo: I had CPK and a few care bears too. My CPK's had "real" and yarn hair. I liked the ones with "real" hair better. I dont remember my CPK's names. They did have normal weird names though. I loved reading Sweet Valley High, really i was just like Jill anything i could get my hands on. Even today...i occasionally check out books from the Juvenille Fiction section.

Her present will arrive sometime in mid-April when Brooklynn officially becomes a big sister!

Guess i didnt have to wait to long to "log on" i just needed to continue reading :rotfl: MeMom will defnitly like this present much more than anything from a store.

Congratulations to Jill and the Whole Family!!

and i know its a month late but better late than never right

Happy Belated Birthday MeMom!

Your new room sounds awesome.

MeMom said:
Hey, what if she took the first initial of all our Dis buddies' names and made up a name with those!?!? That could be an interesting name!

That would be quite an interesting name.

That was really cute how you guys told Trent and Kristi about the big news.

He told Kristi to make sure he was sitting down, maybe even laying down, when she tells him about their first child. If you really knew the two of them, you could appreciate how humorous the whole thing was.:rotfl:
My boyfriend would want to be told the same way! :lmao: :lmao: I dont remember if you mentioned it before, but how long have Trent and Kristi been together?

My dad works for Toy Story Mania now (before he worked Backlot) (did i ever mention that my dad works part time at HS) he kept bragging to me about opening it. I better get some perks when i go visit. :rolleyes1 Well even without any "perks" i cant wait to ride Toy Story Mania. Just like Disney to have a wonderful queue.

That would be fine with me to if they added Michaelsulley in 3yrs.

My prayers go out to Lesa's family. Prayers are always needed even if they are delayed.

"Oh, I know Mommy and Daddy would love to hear me playing this every night for a really long time!"
This gave me a little chuckle. Dont we just love musical toys?

They were cute. I like seeing the Disney characters in any kind of different/special/seasonal attire.
Me too!

Great pic of Boo... I wanted a close up pic of her but i wasnt in the right section.

Happy Belated Birthday Brooklynn!
Those cupcakes are adorable and the sign is cute. (i wish i was that good with cupcakes and sign making) I want to come to one of ya'lls Disney Themed partys one day. They look like tons of fun! So if you ever have a Dis Disney themed party send an invitation this way. :cool1:

I love the applause at the end of Soarin too!

Confession: Sometimes I youtube the ride just to see it again!
When we had internet at home my boyfriend and i would YouTube a lot of Disney attractions. Especially PhillharMagic (sp?) As much as my boyfriend "dislikes" all my disney talk he doesnt mind lookin it up on youtube and then saying 'i miss disney' He tries to hide it but deep down inside i know he likes it as much as me....okay not as much but halfway there :rolleyes1

Princess Brooklynn got pictures with my 2 fav princess Jasmine and Belle (3 fav if you count Brooklynn)

I spy a hidden mickey made out of corn. (Yay! i clicked on the video just to see if my luck would shine today and it did) Brooklynn sounds so adorable. :lovestruc I kept saying "awww" outloud. Luckily no one was in the giftshop.

How exciting! ABrooklynn and MeMomtrip! I'll keep my fingers crossed for you 2.

I'm up to pg 60...can i get to pg 67 in 45 mins? I'm quite sure i can provided i dont have too manu interuptions...:rolleyes1

I remember always seeing your little green light turn on early in the morning when i was at Pop playing catch up at the end of my graveyard shift. It was nice sharin PMs back and forth at that hour of the morning.

You do a very good job at being artistic in your pictures MeMom.

I loved the pics of Beaches and Cream. I never got a chance to go when i was there. Go figure. I'll just add it to my list of things to do.

"I go Dizzy Wuld MeMom."
Again too cute!

I'm gonna go with a baby pirate too.pirate: I would also like to see pics of Jill with her baby bump. If you feel like sharing Jill, no pressure. April 11? Thats my aunts birthday.

I love how Brooklynn wheres her 3D glasses.

Yup, if ur student teacher wants to work with younger kids she'll defintley (sp?) have to explain herself slowly the 1st time. and have a lot of paitence. but thats already a given if your gonna be a teacher right?

And with that I am ALL caught up. I shouldnt fall to far behind again. (and with 6 mins to spare too)

Dear MeMom & Jill

I had my scan yesterday and it went well - we saw a very strong heartbeat! Sadly, the little bean decided to hide right in the bottom corner of his sac so we don't have any good pictures of him (even though its only 11mm long!). I've also got a tummy on me, which apparantely doesn't help with seeing things clearly!

The best picture we have is posted below... near the dotted line you can just about make out a little shape, well that is him! :woohoo: can you see him??? tee hee, probably not!

I'm going to ring my Dr / Midwife later today to check he is OK in that position, but the sonographer said as we saw a heartbeat, everything looks OK to her.

We have named him Angus Bean as we think he was conceived during a weekend away in Scotland!!!

AngusBean-ish.jpg

I have been to make Biff feel bad. :rolleyes1
it is not so bad being I have the 2 trips coming up

Yeah, I'd probably handle it okay, too, if I had the October trip coming up. And there are good things about going in December, because it should be a few degrees cooler. We had great weather last Christmas!

funny....i feel as though i was just here a couple of days ago. oh, yeah.....I WAS!!!!! :cloud9: that pool was gorgeous.

Are you in the throes of Disney withdrawal? The first week back into Real World is always rough for me. I miss the music and the colors and somebody fixing my meals and cleaning up the dishes!

The No Way Jose was good, but far too big for one person, so it's at least a two or three person treat. We plan to get a Kitchen Sink, too, if we ever go with a larger group.

I do know about those black vulture things, and they would go quite well sitting in the yard of the Haunted Mansion, I think. I like it when we go through and see workers out there doing things with the animals. I think I would like working there in the Education Dept.

today im starting on post 402...i think i'll get further today cause most of my work is done...(hmmm im not sure if its my computer or my luck but a handful of pictures are coming up as [ x ] is it just me?)

I'll have to go back and check about the pictures and why they are not showing.

I didn't know your dad worked at Toy Story.

The Monsters, Inc. ride is being talked about more and more, and with the addition of Pixar Place, it probably will happen.

Trent and Kristi have been together for about three years.

We will hopefully know what the baby is before our Thanksgiving trip.

The supervising teacher pretty much told the student teacher the same thing I did - she goes a little fast for third-graders. She is learning already, though, the more and more I had over the class to her. She will get valuable experience in the weeks ahead. She is a good worker and she wants to get it right, so she will work at whatever she needs to.

We're so happy for you! We will pray for a very healthy pregnancy that results in a beautiful, healthy baby! Wait until you see Jill's ultrasound. It is incredible! It is so distinct and clear. I was expecting a little splotch, but this is no splotch!

And now, in a surprise move this morning, I present to you....

pictures!

Actually, just a few teasers, as we prepare to head out for Day Four and Magic Camel, again.

Brooklynn admiring her window.

There is a possibility that the temperature inside and the temperature outside were different. There is a Science lesson in this picture.

And then there was a castle!

IMG_1434.jpg

I don't know if anyone has ever told you this before (:rotfl2: :rotfl: :lmao: ), but Brooklyn is one of the cutest little things I've ever seen! Love that smile!

MeMom-"I think some of us are going to try to meet up on the 29th, so if you're there then, please join us. We're thinking it may be in or around Epcot, and there are no obligations for a long time - just meet and greet and maybe sit and have a milkshake or something and get a picture for the report. We'd love to have you!"

I'd love to meet up, but the 29th is my DD's 7th b-day. We have almost the whole day planned-BBB @ 8 am, CRT @ 10 am. Magic Kingdom (till we're tired). Chef Mickey's around 6. If there is some down time that day, I'd love a milkshake in Epcot. Just keep me posted. Thanks for including me.
I'm glad you're putting so many pictures in your TR. It makes me feel like I was there, too.

It's nice to come back from WDW to all of your updates! I love the pictures as always...the Beach Club ones really take me back! I just fell in love with that resort on this trip. We loved Beaches and Cream too and stopped by there three times for burgers and ice cream!

the "Brooklynn and MeMom" trip sounds wonderful - I hope you get a fantastic deal on flights!

Brooklynn (with a Magic Camel smile) ready to roll!
IMG_1433.jpg

I see little Sully came too! :sulley:

We went to the Disney store yesterday and saw all the plush toys. We saw a big Sully there and I thought of Brooklynn. I was wondering if he was the same size as hers.

My 12yr old was going crazy over the plush, acting about five. :lmao:

Wow, that is some serious condensation.

Hello!! -- I have been enjoying your last few installments. I have been more of a lurker these last few days b/c I am getting ready for my trip to Italy. I cannot wait. I have only seen Italy at Epcot...lol

Yay pictures! I like the Brooklynn checking out the Potato Heads. We stocked up on parts on our last trip and I enjoy playing with them too! :rotfl2:

I just wanted to let you know MeMom that I am still around. Hopefully when we get our laptop in a few weeks I can be back at the Disboards like I used to be. Now a days I usually only find time to get on once a week and then only have time to read to catchup and not any time to write. So looking forward to more from your trip and glad to hear that all is well with Jill and the little peanut. :goodvibes

Loved the new piccies too!!!

Not like you've ever heard this before (;) ) but she is SO adorable. She just turned two, right? That's about the age I want to work with. :goodvibes My sanity has been questioned many, many times, but I love that age. Sometimes they are a handful but they're so fun!

I also love the castle picture without a hundred people in front of it. I think the only picture that I got of it without a lot of people was right after the Pirate and Princess party, which was also our last night, :sad1: so sometimes looking at it still makes me kind of sad!

I'm going to ask my parents soon if we could start planning a Disney trip. Unfortunately my time off from school is different from my mother's and my sister's but we made it work last time. :goodvibes

I don't know if anyone has ever told you this before, but Brooklyn is one of the cutest little things I've ever seen! Love that smile!

That's sweet of you to say. We think she's a pretty special little girl.

Hopefully it will work out for us all to meet at once. I'd love to see the birthday girl all decked out in her princess stuff.

Me, too, on the flights, but I'm still waiting on SW to release our dates. I'm glad you had a great trip, and I will enjoy seeing your pictures. I hope you got some new Disney bags!

I see little Sully came too!
We went to the Disney store yesterday and saw all the plush toys. We saw a big Sully there and I thought of Brooklynn. I was wondering if he was the same size as hers.

I get to go to the Disney Store this weekend, after we leave Disney on Ice! :cool1:

Wow, that is some serious condensation.

Yes, their room stayed coooooold and it was quite warm outside. And I hope my students know what condensation is tomorrow on their test. They have solid to liquid and liquid to solid down okay, but they have more trouble with gas to liquid and liquid to gas.

Hello!! -- I have been enjoying your last few installments. I have been more of a lurker these last few days b/c I am getting ready for my trip to Italy. I cannot wait. I have only seen Italy at Epcot...lol

That's pretty exciting stuff! On your trip over, be thinking about where we're going to meet up with Swans and linmc in November. And Nicole if she can make it!

Yay pictures! I like the Brooklynn checking out the Potato Heads. We stocked up on parts on our last trip and I enjoy playing with them too!

She's got a bucket full of parts in her closet. The little spuds are pretty cute all dressed up!

I just wanted to let you know MeMom that I am still around. Hopefully when we get our laptop in a few weeks I can be back at the Disboards like I used to be. Now a days I usually only find time to get on once a week and then only have time to read to catchup and not any time to write. Yay for getting your laptop! I wish Jill had internet at home so she could be on more, too.

Thanks for keeping everyone updated on us

We had fun doing it. We enjoyed the texts and pictures.

Thank you! I hope Jill manages to post her ultrasound soon - would be great to see it!

This weekend, we hope.

Hopefully I will post it this weekend when i'm with mom.

....when we go to Disney on Ice! :cheer2:

She's at a great age. You just have to have a lot of energy and stamina to work with that age all day.

I like castle pictures with few or no people, too. When there are no people, there's nothing to distract your eyes from the castle itself.

Yeah!!!! Magic Kingdom coming up. I love MK and the Castle!!!!

Cathy

Magic Camel - coming up now.

Okay, so we've looked at our Pop windows, fixed our hair, grabbed our Sulley, and made it to the castle.

Now we make our way through the castle, where we find mosaic Cinderella amazed by her beautiful new dress,

and to the other side, where we are greeted by happy people with over-sized hands and many big bubbles.

IMG_1437.jpg

I hurry in front and turn to get a picture of the group from the front instead of the behind for a change.

IMG_1438.jpg

Notice Brooklynn waving back. She has learned the fine art of waving while on our Disney trips. We've decided she thinks she's the parade and she's waving to the guests.

Then it is off to the first ride of the day - Dumbo!
