Checking in very quickly to say that I just booked a Pop Century "Brooklynn and MeMom" trip for March during Spring Break!
I'm looking forward to spending a few short days just letting Brooklynn do whatever she wants to do before she becomes a big sister. It'll be short, so she won't be away from Mommy and Daddy for very long. Jill will take us to the airport on Wednesday and pick us up on Saturday, so she'll only be away from her for two full days. I wouldn't want to go for any longer, as young as she is, but she loves Pop and Disney World (and hopefully me), so I think she'll do fine.
It's all contingent on how much flights cost for that time, though. I went ahead a booked a room only at Pop, so now we'll sit back and wait for flight prices. If it's meant to be, we'll get something I can afford, and if not, then we've got nothing to lose and I'll get my deposit money back. Keep your fingers crossed.
I've read about other grandparents taking their young grandchildren, so I figure if they can do it, I sure can. I think my friend, Kay, may be able to go with us, too, but she has to check with school and husband and college daughter and such to see if the timing is good. I hope she can, because she loves to go, and she's a lot of fun to be around. She's good with Brooklynn, too.
I always want Jill to go when I go, of course, but since she won't be able to go (too close to due date), this will be a good opportunity for me to just focus on my other little girl.
My thought is to get an early flight to be able to make the most of the first day, like we did this summer. We were at Pop by about 11, I think. We could do Animal Kingdom that day and have an early night in, open Magic Kingdom the next day, do Hollywood Studios the next, and then do the few things Brooklynn can do at Epcot on Saturday before we have to meet Magical Express for an evening flight. That way, if Kay does go with us, she won't have to put money into a park hopper.
Anyway, everybody keep your fingers crossed for us when flight prices come out. They're up to March 6th right now.
