We love the air-conditioned cheesiness of Sci-Fi!!! I have not seen those souvenir cups before -- very neat!!!
Yeah, we decided to get them because they were unique Disney souvenirs.
i asked him and he said he was "unwavered." and then he added, "as long as they have that <insert dirty word here> in june, i'm not going."
that will be mine and erica's first full day at disney. we will be sure to think about you!
great installment....i love sci fi! we're eating there again in december. did you order a burger? what did you think? i'm getting a shake next time.....i hear they're good!
Oh well, I tried!
The burger was good. All two bites I ate. I am just glad this time I knew enough to get fries instead of that very yucky cucumber-melon salad I had last time.
Great pictures of Sci-Fi. I have always enjoyed eating there. I remember most of the movies that the clips represent, as the Saturday afternoon movie on TV.
I thought of you as we went through Tenn., to bad we went though Knoxville instead of Nashville
Yeah, 'cause I would have fixed you a big old southern style supper! Maybe next time!
Great pictures of Sci-Fi! The sandwiches look yummy!
They were pretty good. I don't know that any of us ate much, though, because we'd been out in that heat.
I went to Ocean City NJ in June for the first time with DBF. He used to go every summer when he was a kid but I had never been. He thought I was crazy because I kept talking about our WDW trip and saying "And they have a boardwalk that is just like the Jersey boardwalks!" He was like, "Um, that's where we are right now. Why are you excited about going somewhere that is a recreation of where we are right now?"
This is one of my favorite things at DHS...Teenagers from Outer Space is one of my favorite films of all time! It's hilarious, featuring everything from space monsters called Gorgons (lobsters held close to the camera lens) and a space-ray that turns people into skeletons. Plus the 'teenagers' all look about 35. I love that Sci-Fi has this poster!
This is why I love your reports...you have a great sense of humor
The Disney version of anything is always better, of course!
I watched many giant sea creatures, rabbits, aliens, etc. back in the day, too.
If you appreciate my sense of humor, you should be worried!
Thank you, sir! Now, go back to counting down your days!
Enjoyed the pics from Sci-Fi. That's whats neat about seeing someone elses pics, you can see things you may have missed or over looked. Keep those shopping pics coming too, I'm making a mental list. I'm glad BrooklynnsMommy is having an easy time with her pregnancy.
I know. I love to see different perspectives of things through other people's pictures, too!
We loved the Sci Fi Dine In - the theming was fantastic. Having never seen it before I was literally going "wow, wow wow" as we were led to our table!
xxx
I want the job of doing Disney themes in resorts and parks. What a cool job!
I'm late. Great TR. Congrats on the new addition. Brooklynn is adorable.
We're glad to have you - late or not. I'm sure Jill will appreciate your good thoughts.
After we left here...
we walked around a little.
Brooklynn was getting tired, so Jill and John decided to go ahead and try to find a bench for the parade. Jill found a good one for us.
One of the survey guys came by to talk to them.
Brooklynn did not participate in the survey for obvious reasons.
I went into a few shops, because I had time to spare and the shops were there.
Then I decided that we would need something cold to help us sit through the heat until parade time.
When I brought the ice cream (which had little chance of survival in the heat) back to the bench, this character, Melvin, was beginning to entertain the crowd.
There was no doubt that he would be our next Hollywood Hunk.
Look at the little girl looking back at him.
She's thinking, "Dude, there is NO WAY you are the Next Hollywood Hunk!"
Rita Storey was hilarious.
Freddy was trying to compete with the aforementioned Hollywood Hunk.
All three of them were very entertaining.
It was nice to know all of their efforts to be big movie stars were not in vain, because there were
real producers roaming the streets!
By now, Brooklynn was awake.
It looks like she sees something interesting.
What could it be?
Note that she has a travel-sized Sulley in her hand. (You did recognize the blue fur blob, of course, because, as a good Diser, you can identify any Disney character with just the tiniest bit of information.)
When Jill had taken her into a shop earlier, she was tired and crying until she fell asleep. Jill said she had cried after Sulley when she saw him. She loves Michaelsulley and hadn't been able to bring her huge one on the plane. Being of MeMom mind and body, I thought the smaller Sulley would be perfect, so I snuck off and made a quick purchase. When she woke up and saw him, she liked him, so everyone was happy.
