A Ten Day Ride on A Magic Camel - Almost Finished Trip Report

MAN! I missed the Birthday Party, AND the baby announcement . . :headache:

loved the pics. I cannot wait to see it. 32 days

Memom:
Since you like Cara...but it should be Kara like mine...and it works for a boy too...It was my great uncles name but he never did like the name much (thats the dis friendly version) when my mom asked him if I was a girl if she could name me after him!:rotfl2:

I love the photos from TSM! You really outdid yourself with those. I can't believe what a cool looking ride that is! I can't wait to read more about your Hollywood Studios day!

WOW! Great Toy Story pics! I can't wait for the queue even! Maybe that more than the ride itself! Looks a lot like POP! We'll be in line for TSM on 8/30 at 8am! Thanks for all the great previews!!

MeMom -- Happy Belated Birthday. So sorry I did not get to it sooner. My birthday is on the 10th.. We are both leos... yeah!!! :cool1:
Jill -- Congrats on the new baby... Brooklynn is going to be the best big sister... Cannot wati to meet the family in November..

Toy Story was a great ride. I got to go on it in June. I went for EMH and as soon as I got to the front of the line (I was meeting Glenda and Madi at MK so I could only do this ride) it was broken. I had to wait for 38 minutes before the let us on... but -- I had to do it. I met this great family while watiing on line.. they actually own one of the best haunted houses in the country.
Great pictures... and I love your themed rooms..

Memom - Just read your entire report in one sitting (don't tell my boss)

Thank you so much for sharing your wonderful family and adventures with us!

Congratulations on the baby news!

You have done an amazing job at capturing the magic of everything Disney to the point I am literally buzzing with excitement over my upcoming trip. I have never been able to do the world justice with my photography and you have made me want to see everything there in a different light.

Can't wait to hear more :yay:

I love your new Polynesian themed room. The tropical theme is so soothing.

The pics of Toy Story Mania are fantastic. I cannot wait to try it next week.

Your pics always transport me to Disney :cloud9:

Good call deciding to wait a few minutes to see if TSM was going to open. Did you love, love, love it???

The kids in their Star Wars costumes -- . Wonder how long they ended up wearing them that day in the heat and if their mother ended up having to lug them around the rest of the time?

I LOVED it!!!!!

believe it or not, i was actually a well-behaved kid. i know......shocking! :rotfl: the one time i got in trouble at school was in kindergarten. a little boy sat at my table who wore glasses and i was very curious about them, so i asked him if i could try them on. he said, "no. my mommy told me not to let anyone touch my glasses." i didn't like that answer so i just took them off his head and put them on. he didn't like that, either, so he started crying and i got a spanking. i don't think they would spank a kid for that now, but they did in 1981. when my aunt picked me up from school that day they told her i had gotten a spanking and i was hoping she wouldn't tell my mom, but no such luck.

i also got a spanking in the 8th grade, but that was by choice (that sounds kinda bad, huh?). i had not turned in home work 3 times that semester and when that happens you either get detention or a spanking. it wasn't even a choice to me......i'd much rather get it over with then spend an entire hour in detention! so i chose the spanking. but i do have to admit being spanked in the hallway at age 13 is kinda humiliating! and i normally did my homework with no problems - but this was math and i hate math, plus i didn't like my teacher, so i was rebelling i guess.

hopefull i'll be on it a month from tuesday!!!!!! :woohoo:

:rotfl2:

thank you for all the pictures of toy story mania!!!! i was excited about it before but now i'm REALLY excited! i think it looks better than buzz. do you really get to shoot a ball out of your gun? that's so cool!

Awesome pics! I love the ones of Brooklyn with the glasses. :rotfl:
I want to know too-do you really shoot a ball out of your gun? Or do the 3D glasses just make it look that way? I'm excited to ride it in November! :yay:

You don't actually shoot a ball. There are several different games one you shoot rings around the green aliens, one you throw darts at balloons, one is like paintballs. It is a lot of fun, but be warned the arm you pull your string with will be very sore after it's over. It is much more interactive than Buzz. Buzz you can hold the button down and point this one you have to point and pull the string in and out. It gives you a practice game when you first start to get you used to it and then you're off. After your time at the game is over if you have to remain there because of a wheelchair loading or whatever, the game plays again with the bullseyes marked 000 so you can rest or practice. I really love this ride. It is my new favorite! I'm so glad I will still be able to ride it in Oct and Nov.

I love the Toy Story Mania pictures!!! I can't wait to ride that one!!

Brooklyn is so cute!! That was sweet how she is telling everyone about her "baby sissa!" :lmao:

Wow, that ride looks so cool. Can't wait to try it out. We'll definitely have to get up early on DHS day so we can be sure to ride it and get fast passes for a 2nd ride. Thanks for the pics and report.

Cathy

Cool pictures! It looks like a fun ride....can't wait for more! :thumbsup2

It was very cute and very well done. Lots of different activities as you ride along.

i love the update Memom!! that ride looks like so much fun. Thanks for taking all the pictures you do and sharing them with us. It makes you feel as if you where really there! :thumbsup2

Good. That's what I shoot for!

Awesome pictures of Toy Story Mania. :woohoo:
Thanks for sharing.
Cathy

You're leaving tomorrow morning!!!! Enjoy the ride yourself in a few days.

Love Brooklyn trying on the 3D glasses!

She puts any glasses on upside down nearly every time!

I love all the Toy Story Mania pictures! Thank you - now I'm really excited to ride it in just one month. And, happy belated birthday to you and a big congrats to Jill on the new baby!

Thanks. I saw your show today - part of it anyway. They would not have been able to take my Disney stuff. I like your retaliation of going shopping with another Alice bag!

the one time i got in trouble at school was in kindergarten. a little boy sat at my table who wore glasses and i was very curious about them, so i asked him if i could try them on. he said, "no. my mommy told me not to let anyone touch my glasses." i didn't like that answer so i just took them off his head and put them on.

That story about the glasses is cute. You were a go getter even as a little tike, huh?

If I could choose either Buzz Lightyear or TSMM, I'd choose the new one. It's like laser stuff, though. Nothing really comes out. The sound effects are cool, too, like when the dishes are breaking.

Memom - thank you for posting the toy story pics, but I skipped them

I want that to be the ONE thing that i have never seen at Disney. I saw your pics outside and the one candyland pic but I decided from there to let it all be a surprise. If I weren't going in almost less than a month :yay: I definitely would have looked, but I think I can wait

I actually have this next week off so I'm excited!! :woohoo:...I'm sure this is what I'll be doing :surfweb: , b/c I'm a nerd like that!

That's okay. It'll just add to the excitement of your Disney trip. It's cool to be a Disney nerd, don't ya know?

Awesome pics! I love the ones of Brooklyn with the glasses. :rotfl:

Why does November sound so far away for me right now? You'll be gone before we get there. It'll be very nice to stay at Wilderness Lodge.

I see that Jill explained the ride stuff.

Your little guy is cute in all his Disney ear pictures.

The pictures of Brooklynn were magic. She is a little charmer, with a great smile.
Reading over the list of Golden Books was fun, The Little Kittens was my favorite.
Have a good day tomorrow on your second day of preplanning. Have fun looking over the new social studies books.

She is a sweetie. I was talking to her a few minutes ago, and she was singing "Twinkle, twinkle, little tah, How I wunna what you aaah".

Jill and I would buy a new Little Golden Book every week when we went to the grocery store. I read them to her, then later she read them to Trent and Drew.

Even more exciting than new books is a new writing program. We get to listen to someone tell us all about it on Wednesday. I'll be sure to get there early and listen real carefully so I can tell you aaaaallllll about it!!!

I am loving all the Toy Story pictures. The extent they went to on the theming is amazing!

It's pretty cool. Lots of photo ops, for sure.

MAN! I missed the Birthday Party, AND the baby announcement . . :headache:

It wasn't the same without you at the party.

Yep, you're going to be an Auntie G again!

loved the pics. I cannot wait to see it. 32 days

That's not very many days. You can look at punkin's calendar and pretend it's yours. You guys should meet up.

Great Toy Story photos! The ride looks like a lot of fun!

Thanks!

Your pictures of Toy Story Mania are great! The theming and details are amazing!!!
Denise

What a fun job it would be to design Disney rides!

Never heard of a man named Kara. A Boy Named Sue, yes, but not Kara. That's interesting. Have you chosen your little guy's name yet?

I love the photos from TSM! You really outdid yourself with those. I can't believe what a cool looking ride that is! I can't wait to read more about your Hollywood Studios day!

I'm glad we switched our plans to do Hollywood Studios that day. I have lots more to come.

WOW! Great Toy Story pics! I can't wait for the queue even! Maybe that more than the ride itself! Looks a lot like POP! We'll be in line for TSM on 8/30 at 8am! Thanks for all the great previews!!

Is the 30th a school day? If so, I'll write that on my calendar and think of you when I'm doing Reading groups.

MeMom -- Happy Belated Birthday. So sorry I did not get to it sooner. My birthday is on the 10th.. We are both leos... yeah!!! :cool1:

I think I'm a misplaced Leo. I've got none of the leadership skills and extrovert traits and such. I do like having a July birthday for one main reason - I'm not in school at that time!

So cool that you met up with the wild girls. We look forward to meeting you, too! I guess we've narrowed it to Saturday the 29th, right. Swans is coming, too, and hopefully Nicole will drive up. And anyone else is invited. We've got to pick a place and time. We made no ADR for that day, so we're flexible.

Memom - Just read your entire report in one sitting (don't tell my boss)

Lucky, lucky girl!!!

Brooklyn is so cute!! That was sweet how she is telling everyone about her "baby sissa!" :lmao:

I had a gut feeling today that it's going to be a boy. I've ordered up two girls and then a boy, but I just had a feeling at a moment in time today that this one is a boy. Time will tell!

Wow, that ride looks so cool. Can't wait to try it out. We'll definitely have to get up early on DHS day so we can be sure to ride it and get fast passes for a 2nd ride. Thanks for the pics and report.
Cathy

Happy Birthday to you! You guys try to contain your excitement tonight so that you can get some sleep before you leave.

Nope, the 30th is a Saturday, but we'll be at MK on Thursday the 28th and at Epcot on Friday the 29th :) Read a Disney book on us!

Did you happen to notice the Scrabble game?

It's is my favorite game. I can never get any of the kids to play with me, though.

Whoever was playing this game was a little discombobulated!

The game starts on the pink block with the star. This game was never started.

You can't use contractions.
Ha! I used a contraction to tell you you couldn't use contractions! :rotfl:
Oops, I did it again.

(Refer to previous statements in which I have apologized that you know me.)

Also, you can't put an A out there by itself.
It has to be connected to another word.
MEET THE TOYS out there by itself, too!?!?

I think they need an official Disney Scrabble Engineer, and I know just the person for the job! :thumbsup2

Nope, the 30th is a Saturday, but we'll be at MK on Thursday the 28th and at Epcot on Friday the 29th :) Read a Disney book on us!

I've got it covered - Snow White on the 28th and a book about Marie's travels in Paris that I bought in Epcot on the 29th.

I will so do it, too, because my 15 minute block after P.E. and before lunch is the time I read fun books at the rocking chair.
