your new room sounds really nice! when you get your bedspread please post pictures!!!! ray and i are thinking of upgrading from a queen bed to a king and so i will need some ideas. ;)

Yep, send lots of good thoughts to Jill as she prepares to face being a mommy-to-be and the mother of a toddler all at once!

(I'm trying to quote for the first time...I hope it works!)

I'll start praying for Jill now!!! :lmao:
It can be crazy as times! But, I would NOT change it for anything!!!!! :lovestruc :cloud9:

In honor of your newly decorated bedroom I am listening to the Lilo and Stitch soundtrack as I clean, and dust, with Dis breaks. Plus I just love Elvis, and the Hawaiian music.

Have a relaxing weekend before you get down to serious planning next week.

So...did you guys burn up yesterday and today? You just about melt walking from the car to the house right now! Thanks for the good thoughts and prayers.

It's been pretty warm....I just stay in the house :upsidedow

Matt's about to leave to go play golf :scared1: But he's crazy :rotfl:

:cool1: :cool1: :cool1:    HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY....the cyber party was fun and I ate so much I fell asleep! :goodvibes

And a big congratulations to you Jill!!!! :woohoo: I know Brook will be such a good big sister and she will just love it! I have to confess that I spent most of my 4th pregnancy with my Brookie worrying about poor Devon and as it turns out, they just love each other and Devon was very happy to have a little sister! See all that fretting for nothing!

OK now back to catch up on the trippie! popcorn::

Some of you are quoted and some of you are colored in this post. When I hit Preview, it told me I had too much stuff going on, so I went back and removed some of you and poofed you into beautiful colors like I used to back in the olden days three weeks ago before I learned to multi-quote.

Charleston Princess-It won't be as great as the real thing. Maybe a ghetto version, but I've got limited financial resources. Remember, I'm just playing deluxe!

carrieannie - Thanks for everything! A Spectro CD - what a wonderful escape! That one, and Fantasmic and Magic in the Streets and ....

Do you have the Animal Kingdom CD? If you want to feel like you are in a park, play that one on a hot, muggy day after it has just rained and the streets are wet. You just know you are there waiting for Jammin' Jungle to start!

scottny - Mouse-ka-theiver!

TCKK - Yeah, you guys can play Name That Disney Baby! as one of your road trip games very soon!

moparop - A pretty amazing gift indeed! Having just Brooklynn keeps me broke, though, so I can't imagine the damage two will do. I'm bad about doing the "Oh, she needs this" or "She'd look so cute in that" thing. You know - grandma stuff.

punkin - Drew is uploading them for me, so I'll get them on soon, but I doubt they're anything anybody will want to copy. You guys will probably laugh. I come from a long history of ghetto-ness. My Barbies had a shoebox for a car, and at camp we've been known to spend a rainy day playing a rousing game of 'Pass the Oar'!

What, you've never heard of 'Pass the Oar'?
It's the game you play when it has been raining for seven hours and you have sixty kids who have not been yet tired out from playing Pass the Everything Else in the Supply Room forty-eleven times.

Your new bedroom sounds fabulous! I hope we can see pictures of it! Enjoy!
I'll start praying for Jill now!!! :lmao:

She'll love it and be frazzled by it all at the same time. The love always wins out, though.

Sounds just like something I would do. In fact, I plan to put just a tiny touch of whimsy in this room. The next time I go to WDW, I'll be at Bou-Tiki buying a Lilo and Stitch something to put in here.

I'm listening to Sorceror Radio right now.

It's been pretty warm....I just stay in the house :upsidedow

Matt's about to leave to go play golf :scared1: But he's crazy :rotfl:

Trent works concrete in this heat, and they've been getting off early every day. He says he's soaked to the bone after about a half hour of work. It is dangerous. I think tomorrow is supposed to bring us 99!

Happy belated birthday, MeMom!!!
Congratulations, Jill, on the baby news!!!
Denise

Thank you, ma'am!

Brooklynn just keeps saying, "Big sissa!" when we ask her her secret. She has no idea what she's saying or what it means, but she humors us.

When Jill and Brooklynn came up, we then went to meet Trent, Kristi, and Kristi's dad at another mall, because she told them Brooklynn had something to show them. (She had been practicing a song for them.)

We went to the Disney Store, so I whispered to Jill she should tell them in there. Seemed an appropriate place, since she couldn't be in the real thing. So, Jill picked up Brooklynn and said, "Brooklynn, tell Bubby your secret." She was supposed to say, "Big sissa," but instead she put her finger to her mouth and said, "Ssshhh."

Since she wasn't going to spill the beans, Jill prompted her by whispering it in her ear. Then Brooklynn whispered in her softest soft voice, "Big sissa," and proceeded to put her head on Jill's shoulder. Kristi's dad being there made her all shy, because she's not used to him, otherwise she would probably have been bouncing around the store saying "big sissa" over and over and over!

You should have seen Trent's face. He went blank and said, "What?!?!?" and Kristi said, "Surprise!"
At her comment, Trent said, "What? You knew?"
Kristi basically said, "No, dummy, but what else does 'big sissa' mean?"
Trent just said, "What?" again, and Jill and I just laughed at both of them.

Then Trent said he thought he needed to sit down! :rotfl:
He told Kristi to make sure he was sitting down, maybe even laying down, when she tells him about their first child. If you really knew the two of them, you could appreciate how humorous the whole thing was.

I'll put Faux Poly pictures up next.

Okay, I'm ready to show off Faux Poly, but I'm going to do it in sections. I feel weird just taking a picture of my bedroom for display, so I'll just show you the pieces and parts and you can put it together in your mind.

Tropical flowers and decorative box.

The tiki guy is a candle holder. I thought he added a subtle, fun touch. Sorry I didn't take the plastic wrap off yet.

011.jpg

Shade and table cloth material.

010.jpg

Cat modeling tablecloth.

002.jpg

Cool bedside table that spoke Polynesian to me.

003.jpg

(You can see the dust that collected under the old table I pulled out. Apologies given.)

It reminded me of that lobby door near the elevators that is covered in bamboo, so......

SOLD!

It also kind of speaks AKL, in case I ever decide to go that route. I do change things up about every fifteen years, ya know!

Window and small table, big tiki guy that I found yesterday, palm tree stolen from Old Key West (my downstairs den), and water feature. The fountain needs more rocks, but that's all it came with. I'll get more next time I'm out. Forgot to turn on water feature, but it flows and has a yellow-orange light. It's pretty.

004.jpg

Same thing.

The Eeyore clock will not be a part of the display.

005.jpg

009.jpg

008.jpg

Picture frames found at Home Goods.

013.jpg

Not sure which pictures will go in them yet.

I also had two pictures I took at Poly blown up to 8x10, and I am going to frame them. They're pretty - water and palm trees, so they'll be homemade wall decor.

Sand and shells that Kristi brought me from a trip she took with her mom to Florida. Most of it is in glass jars downstairs (in OKW, remember?), but this much was left over, so I'll put it in a little jar and add it to the Poly.

014.jpg

If you didn't already know, my kitchen is Wilderness Lodge. I refer you to what Trent says often.

And I quote - "You have issues."

He secretly gets a kick out of it, though, and he openly loves me, so it's all good.

Alright, I've got to go. I think there's supposed to be a torch lighting ceremony around here sometime this evening. :)

Toy Story Midway Mania and a Star Wars day at Hollywood Studios coming tomorrow.

i love the room! :thumbsup2 i think it's so cool that you have disney resort-themed rooms. you're giving me ideas. ;) ray can thank you later. :rotfl:

oh, and of course i notice that you're dissing as you took the pics of the picture frames. you go, girl!

Cool Polynesian-ish room. (I love your new word!) I need to do something like that in our room. It's so dull and plain. Hmmmm, I wonder what I could do?

I love  your new room decor. My DH & I stayed at the Poly for our honeymoon, so of course a Polynesian inspired room seems like a great idea to me! :thumbsup2 I especially like your new bed table and the picture frames. I think you're right, those things will look nice if you decide to switch things up and do an AKL themed room. I can't wait until DH and I finally buy a house (hopefully sometime next year) and I can start decorating Disney style!

The new decor looks great. I really like the cat modeling tablecloth. Also the big tiki guy and tiki candle holder are perfect.

I look forward to seeing the two pictures taken at the Poly that you had blown up to 8x10. I am sure they will turn out as great as the flower collage.

I think I just became very afraid of Ray!

What do you mean? Is there something else you can do with a computer?

TCKK - All packed? When exactly are you pulling out of the driveway? I think someone else wants to come to the Dis meet. Check out declansdad's and pooksma's thread. I hope they can be there.

micandminforever - They did turn out good. I was very pleased. I want to jump into them and be there!!!

The cat thinks he has to give his approval of everything I bring into the house. Earlier, I was working in the back room, finally putting away my suitcase from the trip. He decided he had better inspect it to be sure I had everything out of it, so he hopped in and just sat there. He looked like a big dork peering out over the top. He later meowed that I had left some things in there.
I did.
I'm leaving three unused ponchos in there for the next trip!

hollyluvsdisney - Thanks. I'm glad you like it. It'll probably change again about the time Brooklynn graduates from high school! :rotfl: I have to stop spending money and start saving for our Thanksgiving trip. I just wanted the house to look halfway decent for Brooklynn's party. I like the themes of the rooms, too, and they each just have a hint of Disney in them. They're not in-your-face Disney, so it works.

We spent the evening of Fourth of July at Poly. It was sure nice for those people who could just go out on their balconies and sit to watch the fireworks. I'd love to stay there someday. Maybe we can do that on one of our short girl trips. There's no way I could pay for two rooms for our longer trips.

I love the new bedroom! The bedside table is awesome! I also like the picture frames! I like how you have Disney inspired rooms....I tried to do that, but had to settle for a few Disney touches in some rooms! Although, since Hannah came along, I was able to make the guest bathroom into a Nemo bathroom! :)

Ultra cool Polynesian-ish room! I think you did a fantastic job! I had an idea for a new television show called Faux Disney and you could redecorate people's homes like the resorts. I am volunteering my house first! I would like to have an Animal Kingdom Lodge-ish look in the foyer and bedroom -- that's as far as I got. :lmao:

Do we get pics of the Wilderness Lodge-ish kitchen? It sounds so cozy for fall and winter days.

Laughed and laughed over the Brooklyn tells Trent story! :goodvibes

i think the room looks great.

On the morning of Day Two, Jill was incredibly excited. She had been looking forward to riding the new Toy Story ride since when she first read about it. She bought a cute little Toy Story shirt at the Disney Store to wear on that day, so she was ready to go!

IMG_0670.jpg

On the bus, Brooklynn gave us her Ha-ee-wood smile. It looked much like her Magic Camel smile.

IMG_0674.jpg

John knew more about Star Wars than any of us girls, but I don't even think he knew a whole lot. Still, it was cool to be a part of yet another unique Disney event.

IMG_0675.jpg

There were quite a few people already inside, but I'm not sure why. They didn't appear to be headed for a breakfast. They were mostly lined up at that little stand as you first go in.

We stood in line near some little boys who could have told us everything about Star Wars that we would ever need to know. They were so cute in their outfits. They had a bunch of different swords, and they were having battle after battle. I asked the mother's permission to take their pictures, and she said sure. She asked if I wanted them to put on their head gear or not, and I said whatever they wanted to do. They both wanted the full outfits on, and they had to have just the right sword for the picture.

IMG_0676.jpg

In a few minutes, there was activity from close to Oscar's Garage, and then a whole swarm of guys clad in white jumpsuits came flooding out.

I got the hint that they were there to protect us.

They went over the top of the entrance.

IMG_0681.jpg

IMG_0683.jpg

They did a short little talk, but I don't really know what they were saying. Then we were in the gates and down the street, where we noticed we were still being watched over.

IMG_0685.jpg

A quick picture of the information board.

IMG_0686.jpg

The opening of Toy Story has changed the usual flow of traffic at Hollywood Studios. Some continue to do that run/walk to Tower of Terror and RnRC, but now many do the run/walk toward Toy Story. Since we had been let in about fifteen minutes early, we headed straight for the TS rope drop right near the Chinese Theater. We were right up front, but we still had several minutes to wait.

I believe this young man's name was Karl,

IMG_0690.jpg

and he had the unenviable task of fielding all the questions and comments that were tossed his way by a large and growing crowd of Disney guests. He seemed to be very cool, calm, and collected under pressure, even turning down numerous offers of money to remove the rope.

Brooklynn wanted to be out of the stroller. She wanted to stand.

IMG_0688.jpg

That desire faded quickly.

IMG_0689.jpg

The crowd behind us.

IMG_0691.jpg

In time, the rope was removed. As always, the plan was for Jill to do her march to get Fastpasses and by the time she had them in hand, the old lady, the baby, and the guy with the stroller would catch up to her.

She took off in a very dignified run/walk, as did most, but there were several who were just doing a straight out run. Most of them were teenagers and grown men.

We did catch up to her, but the Fastpass machines were not working, so we all just got in line.

I say line in very loose terms, because there was not much that distinguished it as such. It was more of a confused crowd at that point, because the ride itself was also not working.

People were getting in and out of line/crowd trying to decide what to do. We decided to wait a few minutes and see what happened. Since the line was not moving, Jill went back to the FP machine, and this time she did come back with tickets in hand.

IMG_0692.jpg

Luckily, the line started moving within a minute or two after she got back, so we did the right thing by staying.

IMG_0694.jpg

IMG_0695.jpg

IMG_0696.jpg

IMG_0697.jpg

I took several pictures of the queue. Along with the ride itself, it may take 2-3 posts to get them in.

I'll get us inside, out of the heat, and put up more this afternoon.

We're just about packed Memom. Most of the rest will be done before bed tomorrow night. Our plans are to leave around 4:30-5:00am Tuesday morning. We'll stop that evening in Valdosta, Georgia which is only about 10-15 minutes from the Florida Welcome Center. With stops and stuff that morning we figure we'll be pulling into POP around 1p-2p Wednesday :woohoo:

I just read declansdad's and pooksma's thread and saw that another DIS'er was hoping to meet us. I think that is so cool! :thumbsup2 I hope they make it and maybe some more besides!

Our plan is to have a laptop with us and maybe a couple times while we're there we'll be able to post some pictures.

Memom I love the pics of TS and can't wait to see more. Jill's shirt is really cute and Brooklyn is still such a doll baby. You are truly a blessed Memom!

Enjoy your day and I'm looking forward to the next update!

Cathy
