Ok so I posted earlier about the differnet custom wedding menu options and you can basicaly request anything for your dinner wedding reception

So...That being said my fellow Disney Bride Disers

what would you rate The Food of either your buffet, sit down dinner, lunch, or breakfast or whatever you had..

the presentation and Cake!

Please and thank you!

Oh and Pre-reception too please!

We have not had a Disney wedding yet but we are planning on next November. We happen to be buffet people. I know at a wedding it looks elegant to have a plated meal but we happen to love variety. Not sure where you are planning on have the reception, but some locations only do buffet. The two that come to mind are ADH and Ariels. We are looking at both of these locations - it just depends on how many people will be attending our wedding.

we either want it at the grand floridian or the boardwalk or yacht and beach club resort...

But The Gf is very expensive

so do you just want our opinions on the food we chose for our weddings?

we had plated food and a cake from disney and to sum it all up.
PERFECT! our food and cake were the best we have ever had and ourt guests agreed. Guests told us after that our food was the best tasting wedding food they ever had, so that says something.

It was so good i had it recreated for our anniversary trip.

We had a sit down plated meal at the Boardwalk...it was top notch. Everyone mentioned how it was the best food they have ever seen at a wedding.

The cake was fantastic, I enjoyed eating it for days LOL!

Our dinner was held at the Yachtsman Steakhouse and it was excellent, everyone loved the food. We had choice of the full menu for our guests and everyone had plenty of yummy dishes.

My wedding isnt for another few months, but the food at my tasting was amazing! They had the entire buffet laid out in a miniature version, and everything tasted and looked amazing! There wasnt anything I didnt like.

Just to provide some counterpoint here... the food at our tasting (BoardWalk) was not rave-worthy. Maybe our expectations were too high?

It wasn't bad food, it was just standard convention-center food: the steak was a cheap cut, the basil mashed ptoatoes didn't taste like basil, and the parmesan-crusted chicken was bland and didn't taste like parmesan.

We decided not to have any of that stuff at our reception and stick with brunch. You really can't go wrong with brunch! :thumbsup2

Ahhhh......... Oh no I am a little worried now.....I mean my expectations are high for my wedding...But then again isent everyones?????

Well does it depend on what chef you get?

It absolutely can depend on what chef you get. I wouldn't worry too much. Some people may have bad experiences but for instance we had prime cut filet with cold water lobster tail, many imported cheeses and just phenomenal food. Also buget is also a concern because I will admit we spent a large chink of our budget on food. We are from nyc were we visit many great restaurants (plus this is what my family does in NYC) and thought the food was awesome. Our food was def. on par with Disney's signature places but we requestd very specific things and let our our planner know our likes and dislikes.

Of course we had a few items at our tasting we didn't like. We also made it clear to our planner we were foodies and the reception was 90% about the food so maybe that had something to do with it?

Are you having a tasting because that is what they are for and they can help you iron out the kinks or ease your worries (most of the time):thumbsup2
