A Tale of [family madness in] Two Cities - Final Thoughts & PTR Link!

So awesome that you got to keep your DVC!! :cool1: And hooray for a trip in September! What are your dates? We will be there in September too!

Congrats to Joe on the job. I've been keeping up with you on FB and your blog- I love the entry by Henry!! Can't wait to hear more!

Going back to March on the replies...:sad2: I've been a bad DISer.

Great update, Brook! Seeing pictures of AKL always makes me want to be there right that very instant! What a fun game with Mickey and Donald on the fan! :rotfl:

Not the Walk of Shame!!!  Like you said, it was worth a try!

Wonderful photos and video from Wishes! :thumbsup2

Oh yes, it was the Walk of Shame. Not unlike the Cone of Shame. ;)

I'm with ya on AKL, seeing those pictures make my heart ache a bit!

Great update! Your Wishes pictures really bring me back to my magic place!

I hope that someone takes the bait on the house and you sell it quickly. It's great that you are getting so much traffic though. That seems to be half the battle.

Brook you should start a blog so we can all follow along on your move. It is so exciting!

Thank you for the well wishes on the house sale! Obviously it happened shortly after this. :goodvibes We DO have a blog...www.joeandbrook.com if you are still interested! I need to update it with the most recent pictures of the new place that I have taken.

I was so excited there for a minute that you were going to get to use you FP, bummer for the walk of shame  I remember waiting in the FP line for TT and there was a group a bit ahead of us denied access. I can't remember what exactly they were trying to tell the CM but they didn't all have FP's and they were very mad they had waited that long just to be turned away at the end (the FP line was still like a 30 min wait!) I don't know if the person at the beginning didn't count passes or if some of them line jumped but I was glad the CM at the end stood his ground

Beautiful fireworks pictures! I wish my hubbies camera had that photo from video feature, he doesn't take many photos and that would be a great way to get the "perfect" shot!

Sending pixie dust that your sales happen soon so you can move on toward your dreams :wizard:

Oh no! That's awful about that group...but I side with Disney in the end, even when I have to do the Walk of Shame. They have rules for a reason!

I was really impressed with the photo-from-a-video feature on KK's camera. I wish ours had that too!

Thanks for the pixie dust...it worked! ;)

We are shooting for every month, but it'll probably be more like every month and a half in reality. Travel is expensive, unfortunately. Money will be the determiner, because desire would be having us hook up every month or even more.

Henry will surely have a wealth of activities around him in NY! I hope we'll get to see all the little mini-trips you guys take. :goodvibes

I'm so with you MeMom! It's the whole money thing for us too. If only plane tickets and food costs were lower.... I just signed up for alerts to get on last minute travel deals, sometimes I know there are very cheap tickets from NYC to MCO, hopefully I'll be able to take advantage of them sometimes for a weekend trip! And you have been back to Disney since I've been regular on the boards, so I need to catch up with your report(s). And, if I remember correctly, you are going in July too, right?

I look forward to the mini-trips around here! DC, Philly, and Boston are so close - plus just all the things to do within the City itself. The other day we went to Ikea and that alone was an adventure!

Enjoyed the update!
And still keeping fingers crossed for your house sale :goodvibes

Thank you!!! It worked! ;)

what a fun update. i love the girls night out at mk and i have to say i am shocked that second cm did not let you on sm.
and garage sales. i love garage sales. having them, going to them. oohh my first one i made just over 900 dollars , it was crazy , i got hooked. i tend to sell my kids toys right out from under them;)

:rotfl:its a great way to make a nice sum of money, isn't it? Overall, after selling our things our grand total was just over $1000. That helped a ton with all the moving expenses.

What a lovely update. I'm sorry no one has yet put in a bid but I'm so hopeful they will soon since you have had a lot of lookers. It's really tough work to keep a house "showing ready". I do not envy that at all. We really need to get our house on the market but with all the work it is and the cruddy economy, eh...not feeling it yet.

I'm glad you enjoyed MK and saw my favorite fireworks show! I love the pictures and video both. Sorry you were turned away at SM though, what a bummer!

It was hard to keep the house ready for a showing! UGH! Especially with a 2 year old who is a small tornado of toys throughout the house. It's so much work...but thankfully it finally paid off! :thumbsup2

The fireworks were just amazing! I hope we get to go back sometime during the holidays so Joe can see it from Main Street too, he'd love it.

Nice update!

I like that game for Henry! I'll have to remember that one.....:thumbsup2

Nice that you got some girl time at the MK....

Glad you got to see WISHES!

I imagine your nieces and nephew would highly enjoy that game as well.

I was thrilled to see Wishes from Main Street! It was just awesome. I'd love to see the summer fireworks they have going on now too...I started to watch a video of them and instantly teared up.

Glad you enjoyed the fireworks. I agree, it is so awesome how the fireworks are synched to the music. One of my friends went a few years ago with her now husband and said the same thing about them being the best fireworks she's ever seen.

And more great pictures of Kidani...only 15 days until we're there!!!:banana::banana:

It's simply amazing how well they are synched to the music! Their technicians who do that work have to be the cream of the crop, its flawless...and that's just another thing that makes Disney so special!

You are obviously back from your trip...which means I have a TR to read!

Great update! I loved the picture of Henry and Joe watching to see who would fall off the fan first... so cute! :goodvibes
The whole fastpass thing is baffling, we have always been able to use them after the window of time printed, I wonder what the deal was?
Your Wishes pictures are beautiful! Someday I'll see it.... I love the Christmas lights!

They just didn't think it was fair because the ticket, while it was from the same day (1/2 am), the park HAD closed since then. So it wasn't the same "park day". I kinda get it. I wish it had worked though, my SIL loved SM! (and me too...!)

Oh, I hope you get to see holiday Wishes! It's really amazing - I just stood there in awe. It's such a great show!

LOVE the fan game! LOL!!

Great pics and update!!
Hoping you got some bites on the house today!!

The fan game was a big hit - we'll have to remember it in September! :goodvibes

Remember though these were actually from the night before, just gotten after midnight

Exactly...so while technically the same day, not the same park day. Worth a try though, right?!

Lovin this report! Henry is such a cutie!

Good luck with the house!
Don't know if these are good luck but, here are some dancing bananas for you!
:banana::banana::banana:

Thank you! I do plan to continue it -sorry for the hiatus!

Brook, I have the saddest news. Our McDonald's has removed the Shamrock Shake to make way for the Baked Apple Pie shake!:scared1: Doesn't it usually last longer than this?? Talk about disappointment! Baked Apple Pie in a shake? That doesn't even sound good.

What?!?! The Shamrock Shake usually lasts for a little while past St. Patrick's Day, but not too long after...I think it should be celebrated all month long, but I'm kinda partial. ;)

I've never heard of the Baked Apple Pie shake...did you ever try it?

Yes - here I am - the straggler. I loved your firework pictures. They are great! Sounds like you had a great time. Too bad the FP queue did not work for you and you had to walk the "walk of shame". Bummer!

I hope the house situation is improving. My brother sold his house two winters ago and it took forever. Knowing how creative you are, you are using all the tricks. People are really funny about furnishings and home decor. I think everything has to look ultra modern for today's buyers. Sorry you had to sell your DVC. But it will always be available for you to purchase in the future.r

Oh no worries on being a straggler MEK - look at this report! :rotfl: I still need to get to yours too.

We did have a great time that night! It was fun with just the ladies and having Wishes as a surprise addition to our evening plans. That's always a great way to end a night!

Thank you for the well wishes on the house! I'm so happy to have all that ordeal done with. It was frustrating because everyone that came through said they loved the house, except ___________. Fill in the blank. -They realized they wanted a 3 car garage. -It was a tad too small. -Not enough cabinet space. -They want to be on the other side of town. etc. All stuff we couldn't change. Thankfully we finally found that buyer! He loves the house!! The closing recently got moved back to the 30th - I hope it all goes smoothly for him, I know he's been waiting a loooooooong time!

Great update, Brooke! :thumbsup2

Hoping the house sale kicks into high gear---Spring time is that time when people like to make the move. Maybe it'll happen soon! :)

And it did! You were right! :goodvibes

Did you ever get an answer to this? I'd love to know, too!

Definitely worth a try! :thumbsup2

I didn't ever find out...I'd still love to know how they got those trees there! I should Google it, everything is out there, right?

Okay, I just tried to Google it and still can't find it. I think I'm going to email the DIS Podcast on this one...I'm curious!

Okay, I emailed the Podcast Team! We'll see if they respond and I'll update here.

It was worth a try - despite the Walk of Shame!

You know we're all about PLANS here!

"See" you soon...

Kathy

:rotfl: That's so true! I completely failed to tell you all of my plans too! But, regardless, you know the house SOLD, so our plan of attack worked! :dance3:

Hey there Brook! Looking forward to hearing how things are going on the home front AND to another update. :goodvibes

I need to do that update...:rolleyes1

Looking forward to hearing Disney and real-life updates!

They will come, I promise!

Hi Brook. Just checking in to see if there was any news on the house selling front. Looking forward to your update.

Thank you for checking in on me! It's really sweet of everyone to hang in here with me for soooooooo long!

Hi Brook, Just wanted to drop in and make sure you know you and your entire family are in our prayers and thoughts. God knows the perfect time for everything in our lives. The hard part is waiting for "his timing" :littleangel: I just wanted to send you good wishes and a big

Angel16

You hit it right on! It's all God's timing...and waiting for that was HARD! But, it was worth it. When it was time everything just flew together. Joe's wrap up with his current job is smooth, he's got a new great job, we love our apartment...it was all good. I love seeing the details fall into place!

hey brook.

Hey Jordan. :goodvibes

Miss you! Hope all is ok!

Thanks Shanan! I miss you guys too!

Hi Brooke!!

I just wanted to say that I am loving your TR!! In fact, loving it so much that I went back and read all of your other ones too! Henry is just too adorable. Your reports are always so funny and heartwarming! I'm praying for you guys that you find a buyer for your house so your NYC dreams can come true! It is such an amazing city, I can definitely understand why you miss it so much. It's too bad that you had to sell DVC, but I'm glad to hear that Disney trips are still in your future despite that. Hope all is well!

Thank you for your kind words!!! More of the TR is coming soon - hopefully my notes and memory will be sufficient enough to still pull out a good report six months later.

NYC is a wonderful place. I love the diversity, the culture, the energy...I love that there is a grocery store, a laundromat, several great restaurants, a hardware store, and a coffee shop all within one block of my house!

Happy Easter Brook

Happy Easter Everyone

Hope you are doing well Brook and family. Your in our prayers and thoughts.

Angel 16

Happy Easter Brook! I hope things are good in the great north!

Thank you everyone for the Easter greetings! We had a great Easter. Spent the day with Joe's Mom. It was a beautiful spring day in Minnesota, so we were even able to take advantage of being outside a bit. We all ate too much, but were smiling at the end of the day! :goodvibes

Hi Brook.... just checking in to see what is happening up your way. Any new house thoughts?

Thank you for checking-in on this absent girl! It's so wonderful to read all these comments months later after all the house stuff is pretty much done. I think at this point we were gearing up for the garage sale - and signing all the paperwork for the house. I thought it would be a slower time, but I was wrong. I think I was even more busy! Garage sales are sooooooooo much work!!!

Congrats (I think!) on the DVC sale, as I know you guys wanted that to happen. Glad all is going well with you.

Thank you! We were happy when the DVC sold, just because we needed that money. The bid was pretty low-so we weren't thrilled about that, but just wanted to get it done. Now, I'm glad it didn't work out! :thumbsup2

Brook that is fantastic news! I'm so excited for you that you will be able to live your dream :goodvibes

I've missed you too - hope you can find some time to come hang out with us!

By the way, I posed a picture of that butterfinger cupcake on my PTR as a treat that I HAD to have - it's all your fault, I really shouldn't be coveting snacks like that - you and your food porn are a bad influence! :lmao:

I was sooooooooo excited when I saw the email from our Realtor saying we could expect a bid! It was late at night and I ran into the bedroom and woke up Joe. I could hardly believe my eyes!

:rotfl2: about the Butterfinger Cupcake! It's sooooo good! Did you get one? I gotta get over to your TR and catch up again!

Congrats on both sales! I am looking forward to hearing about the liberation and the future plans it brings for your family!

Thank you Mop! I do plan to share it all - if I can get this TR done in time, I'll do a quick PTR with info. Hopefully I can get the ball going again quickly!

Thats awsome.

Thank you! It was awesome. And still is!

Congrats on the sale of your house!!1:cool1::cool1:

Hope all goes well and you are living the dream soon:goodvibes

Thank you!! It did come quickly, it feels GREAT to be here!

:cheer2:Great news Brook!!! Anxious to hear all the details!!:thumbsup2

Thank you! I do plan to share the details - I hope to get this TR done and a PTR started with all the ups and downs.

Great news Brook!

That is great Brook!! 2 Sales:cool1:
Looking forward to hearing about your next steps:thumbsup2

Congratulations on both the sales.:dance3:

Brook, I bet having both the house and DVC sold is a huge relief! Congratulations and good luck in figuring out all of the next steps. Miss you around here! :)

Woo hoo!:woohoo: Brook, this is fabulous news, 2 sales!!! You and Joe must be completely ecstatic (is that how you spell that?, it looks weird). I've been thinking of you guys and praying for a speedy sale too. I can't tell you how glad I am to see this update! What an answer to pray Brook. I hope things go smooth as silk regarding Joe's job and the next steps you need to take to make NY a reality! You lucky dog! Oh and this is for Henry because I think his smilies were so cute:

:yay::cool1::cool2:

Oh, Brook!!! How very, very, very awesome for you! Not one but two sales!!! Everything is falling into place, isn't it? I am absolutely thrilled for you! :woohoo:

Congratulations! We have missed you, too. We've had a bunch of new babies born! :dance3:

Henry, your videos made us smile.
look forward to the next episode. :thumbsup2

Keep dreaming. Cheap trips are still very magical. :wizard:

Congrats, Brook! You're one step closer, keep us updated!

Hi Brook!

So glad you popped in to update... I'm not on FB so I sometimes miss "stuff."

Congrats on your home sale! Whew! What a relief that is! :thumbsup2

Kathy

Congrats Brook!

Hope you get a bit of breathing space whilst you wait for things to unfold :)

Glad things are turning out. Especially getting your house sold.:cool1:
I so wanted to say, "I'll buy your DVC", when you mentioned you were going to try and sell it.
We have to get 2 more kids through college-(financial aid is a joke),
and then I'm told I can look into DVC re-sale.

Wow! Awesome news from you!! Your head must be spinning! So much to do now... very exciting! :goodvibes

Fantastic news on both sales! :thumbsup2 Hoping everything else falls into place for your move! :)

I was thinking the same thing about buying DVC. We have been thinking about it for a few years now but we have a junior in college & one that will be entering college in a few years so I think we will be too "old" by then!!:rotfl2:

Congratulations, my friend, on the sale of your house and DVC! I know these are two important steps forward in fulfilling your dreams as a family. I am so excited for you!! :yay: Hope all is well and we can catch up soon! :upsidedow

Thank you everyone!!!!!!!!! All these comments are so kind - and encouraging. They make me tear up! The time was stressful, all the waiting and unknowing...and then to see it all fall into place piece by piece was amazing. I remember Joe and I looking at each other, wide eyed, realizing how much happened in one week. It was like we had nothing - and then suddenly it was all done. It felt a bit surreal, like it wasn't really happening...but it was!

I'm glad you who were tempted to buy our DVC didn't follow through. I'm SO GLAD we didn't sell it! I was frustrated when the buyer strung us along and then flaked out and then we had NO bids...but now that everything is settled, it's a great thing!!

Thank you for your prayers, words, thoughts and pixie dust. I truly appreciate it all. It's beyond heart-warming to know there are people out there, most of whom I haven't yet had the pleasure to meet, thinking of us like this. Many, many, MANY hugs to you all!

(and MeMom...babies have been born, eh? I gotta get caught up ASAP!! Love me some DISkids!)

Congrats on the sales Brook!!! so scary and yet exciting!!

Congratulations on both sales!!! That is very awesome! :cool1:

I hope things go smoothly for you and that Joe has good luck in his job search. Very exciting!!!

Hey Brook!

I just had time to get back on the Dis and got caught up on your trip! It looks like it was a great one! Your pictures of the Castle are beautiful! Congrats on selling DVC and the house plus moving to NYC!!!.

Congratulations; can't wait to hear the details as they unfold!

Congratulations! It looks like things are moving in the right direction! :dance3:

Great news!! :cool1:

Congrats Brook!!!! Im so happy that you guys are finally able to start your "east coast" life. :woohoo: On a side note, I am in a bible study every tues night and we happened to start chatting about Disney. I told them about the Disboards and happened to mention you, joe and henry..At the end, they threw in a little prayer for your move. :thumbsup2 Disney is so universal :rotfl2:

Congrats on the sale of both Brook!!!!!

So glad to hear things are moving forward!!!

Congrats on the sale of both of your homes! :goodvibes

Hope everything from here on goes smoothly! pixiedust:

HI Brooke -

I am a little behind, but congrats on the DVC sale (I think). I know you must have needed to do that, so I am glad it all worked out. Hope things are going well with the move!

Just wanted to say hi Brook!

Hey Brook! Congrats! Hoping for all the best with Joe's job situation!

 Hope all is well.

Happy Mothers' Day Brooke! :wave2:

Hope things are going well for you!

I'm not reading all the comments left for me over the past few months at one time...I read a page and reply, then move onto the next page. I'm full fledged crying now! Good tears. Happy tears. I'm very touched by all of you...everything with the move was emotional - and now to be on the other side and reading all these comments that so many people were rooting for us, praying for us, thinking of us, it just makes me overwhelmed with emotion.

Thank you, thank you. :hug::hug::hug:

Just wanted to say Thank You for your great TRs. I've been lurking on the Boards for awhile now trying to learn all I can about the World before our trip later this month. My wife and I have a daughter who is almost three and I was unsure about how someone her age would do with many of the rides and experiences there. Well, now knowing all about Henry's trips I feel much more informed than what any of the guidebooks could have told me. Thank you. Looking forward to the next update.

SailBill

:welcome: Thank you for reading! I'm glad my TR has been helpful for you! I know for our first trip with Henry I read every TR I could find with a child his age too. The DIS is a wonderful source of information, isn't it?

I hope your trip went wonderfully - if you are doing a TR, please post the link!!!

Just wanted to say hi :)

:goodvibes Hi!

Hey BE! Checking back in to see how things are progressing for you guys. Hope all is well and that the job situation is working out for Joe.

Thanks GB! The job situation went so, so well for Joe. At the time you posted this he didn't have anything, but shortly after things starting popping up and he got calls every single day about jobs!!

Hola!

Hey Brook:)
Hope everything is going well with your family.....maybe you have already made your move to NYC?? Update us when you can:)

Thank you for checking in on me! :goodvibes We hadn't yet made our move when you wrote this, but were in the thick of all the moving stuff, finding a place, packing like crazzzzzzzzzzzy!

I know a few days ago or so, I saw Brook on Facebook, and she was in NYC apartment hunting, but the move hadn't been made yet.

Thank you for updating everyone! I always meant to get on here too and write a quick update, but never did quite make it!

Hi Brook,

Just popping in to say hi and hope that you're all doing well!:goodvibes Also keeping my fingers crossed that your house sold. I think you should know that I made an ADR at California Grill for our upcoming trip because your review of it looked so great! I will NOT leave that chocolate molten cakey thing behind like you did though!:lmao: Now, what pants to wear under my fancy dress...

:rotfl2: I hope you enjoy the CG! Right now I could certainly go for that chocolate molten cake thing...yum.... Hmmm...I'm thinking a dessert and coffee trip to the CG might be a fun thing on a future trip...

Nice TR. Henry is sooooo cute!

Thank you!! I will update again soon. Hopefully my notes and memory will guide me enough to provide a decent TR!

I am pretty sure she wouldn't mind sharing this, as she posted this on her Facebook page. She made a new blog and is updating it quite frequently about her apartment hunting. She found one! And she is moving soon to NYC.

Here is the link: http://www.joeandbrook.com/

Nope, I don't mind a bit! Thank you! I need to update it with some apartment pics today. The place is finally starting to take shape and actually look like a home. :yay:

Hey BE!

Just checking in to see how things are going!

Hope all is well out your way. (Whichever way you happend to be right now.)

:goodvibes All is very well here on the east coast. We are expecting another scorcher, but my landlady just dropped off an air conditioner, so I'm thinkin' today will be a bit more comfortable than yesterday. :thumbsup2

Woo Hoo for getting to keep the DVC, booking a trip, and moving!! How wonderful! Congrats to Joe on the job. I am so happy for all you.

Thank you! It's been awesome to watch all the pieces fall into place!

Hi Brook, great to see you back on the DIS and how wonderful and fantastic that you got to keep your DVC AND have a trip planned!!:banana::banana:

I have been following your updates on facebook and must say that it sounds like you really have a great start to your new life in NYC! I hope that it stays like that!!! :goodvibes

Thanks Magdalene! Last month while we were apartment hunting we were using the Berlin bag you gave us and had quite a few people comment on it, then I got to share my story of meeting you! Which also reminds me I haven't read your latest TR yet with your sister...I think I had started, but I've been away so long. I can't wait to read all about it!

Things are going very well in NYC - Joe and I almost have to pinch ourselves sometimes because it doesn't all feel like its real, its been so long in coming and the fact that we are finally here is like a dream! We are loving it though!

Yay for the upcoming trip!!! That is so great that you were able to keep your DVC.

Hope the unpacking is going well.

Thank you! It is going well. We purchase a couple Ikea closets the other day and that helped free up a ton of space, so our living room is beginning to look like a living room instead of a warehouse full of boxes. ;)

I am very, very happy that you were able to keep your DVC. :thumbsup2

What are your dates in September?

Our dates are September 3 - 9. Henry turns 3 on September 1, so we have to pay for him this coming trip, but we just can't bring ourselves to go in August. Not that 2 weeks makes any difference weather wise - its all in our heads! :rotfl: (plus DVC point-wise, September is drastically cheaper)

So pleased to see you'd updated and all is well.

 for the ways things are working out for you.

And what are your Sept dates? We'll be there in Sept too!

Thank you!!! It's awesome how everything has worked out! All the waiting and waiting was well worth it.

Our dates are September 3-9. What are yours?

Well, that's just the best news I have heard all day! :dance3:
We look forward to having you hanging out with us again.
Many congratulations on Joe's good job, finding a place you like, and on being able to keep DVC! :goodvibes
All of that is just great news!

I so look forward to hanging out with you all again!!!!!! I miss you guys and miss hearing all the Disney news! When I logged onto the DIS for the first time in a long time (a few weeks ago), I was shocked to read all the news - the new resort and everything!

It really has been great news for the Woz family lately. Things have fallen beautifully into place.

That is great news about keeping your DVC! :woohoo:

As soon as Joe got the offer I said, "That means we can keep our DVC!" and his response was "Book the trip!" :rotfl:

I am so glad to hear that you were able to keep your DVC. Sounds like things are going good in NYC. I am happy that you are able to get a quick trip in September.

Thank you! I'm so excited about the September trip. We were originally looking at something like 9 or 10 nights...but with needing to use vacation time for holidays with family now, a shorter trip is what is going to happen. But we are just fine with that! A short trip is always better than none, right? :goodvibes

Brook you have so much exciting news!!!! Wow! Keep us all posted... very exciting that you are in NYC!! :cool1:

It's hard to believe we are actually HERE. The other day we were at Ikea (in Brooklyn) and one of the large windows looks over to the Statue of Liberty. Another overlooks the Manhattan skyline. It's just phenomenal.

So glad the move went smoothly. So exciting that you get a trip in the fall. Short trips are good too!

It went so smoothly. We had some aggravation with the movers, but they delivered, so I'm done being irritated with them. And yep, I agree - a short trip is a good thing! Hopefully next year we'll have a better handle on Joe's vacation time and can plan something longer.

Super Happy for you Brooke that you got to keep your DVC. Glad the move is going smoothly.. love the FB updates. I hope you finish this report, I certainly will be waiting. I will say hi to the Boardwalk for you tomorrow.... we are at the BC for four nights! (At Vero right now...:love::love::love::love:)

Oh yep, I will surely finish this report! I have a long ways to go yet, but I'll get through it! Hopefully I will remember some of the details.

Ahhhh - don't you just love DISing from Disney?!! I'm guessing by your heart smileys Vero is pretty great! We definitely have that on our future list as well. Are you going to do a TR? I don't know much about the Boardwalk so I'd love any info/tidbits/pictures you might get!

Girl, I about thought you dropped off the face of the earth! I am SO happy to hear your great news! Double yeah for keeping the DVC and a triple yeah for a Sept. trip!!:woohoo:

Wow, you made your dreams come true, you're in NY!!!:goodvibes How exciting! I hope you're all adjusting well and the move was smooth. Ugh, I hate hate hate moving and cardboard boxes! I feel your pain! Still though, you're in NY so who cares if you're surrounded by boxes, right? I'm just so glad to hear your news Brook, I've thought of you, Joe and adorable Henry and prayed that you'd be able to make the move. Prayer answered!:goodvibes:goodvibes

Ok girly, you better finish this trip report because you have a real knack for witty writing. Even if it takes you a year, I'll be looking forward to it! Ok, please don't take a year!:rotfl:

:rotfl: Nope! I'm here! I think about you guys nearly every single day! Hopefully now that things are starting to settle I can be on again regularly. I love coming back with great news though!

It's hard to believe we are here - all that waiting and now it's done. We are here! We are settling! Our 500 square feet (!!!) is turning into a home. Thank you soooooo much for your prayers. They have been answered! Everything has gone very smoothly and just fallen right into place.

And yes, I do plan to finish the report! It would drive me bonkers to just leave it and start with a new one. I still have one from our Disneymoon with one day missing and I want to get it done at some point!

What wonderful news that you get to keep your DVC and have a trip planned for September.:yay::yay::yay: Congrats to Joe on his new job.:thumbsup2 Good luck in your new apartment. :goodvibes

Kathy

Thank you! It's hard to believe how quickly everything has happened. Within just a few weeks we had a sold house, a new apartment, a job, a move, and a trip! It's all good. :goodvibes I plan to write a PTR (if I have time after finishing this TR), and I'll share more details along with pictures all all that too.

Glad to see you back! Have been following your New York adventure on fb and your blog. Love Henry's newest entry!!

Wonderful news that you were able to keep your DVC - i know how happy you were to get it only to have to turn around and sell it. ,

Can't wait for your tr updates.:banana:

That blog entry was fun to write. I was thinking for the past few weeks he didn't quite understand moving...but now I realize he really did get it. After we were on the plane and he said good-bye to his Grammy after we were in the air I realized it. It seems like he's really loving it here so far too.

so good to hear things are going well..I checked out your blog awhile back...the pictures were great!

Thanks! We really plan to keep the blog updated with the latest info - and I hope to share some of it here too. I have a bunch of pictures of the new apartment that I need to update it with at some point soon!

Wowsa! I checked in just in time for some super great news. DVC intact and a trip in September. So I am thinking your arrival date is September 3rd? Congrats on that. Glad you are getting settled in and that Joe likes his new job.

Yep, you are right! September 3rd. Did you figure that out by the ticker? You are good! September 3-9. Joe will start his new job on July 6, but so far just from meeting everyone and touring the place he thinks he'll really enjoy it. He'll get to pretty much dictate how things are done with his team/department and build things from the ground up, which he's excited about.

Glad you are back, Brook and thats wonderful news about keeping the DVC AND getting a trip in:thumbsup2
Keep us posted...cant wait to hear all the news of what has been going on in your busy life :)

Thank you! I hope to be back regularly now! I'll be writing a PTR as soon as I get this one done on everything that has been happening, but I'll pepper in news here too.

Fabulous news! I's so glad your move to NYC is working out so great!!! Not having to sell the DVC must feel so good and being able to plan a new trip even better! Your going to need it after a big move like that!

Hey! If you're ever in the mood for a little adventure in the country and visit to the beach I know a place about and hour and a half east of you that you could visit ;)

It's SO great to be able to keep the DVC and book a trip after we were certain it wouldn't happen! I couldn't even hardly read Disney news or watch videos or anything without tearing up, not knowing when our next trip would be... Joe just rolled his eyes at me during all those times, but he understands at the same time. ;)

Joe loves the beach...so we just might take you up on that! Is there a train that goes there?

Great news! It is great to have you back. I look forward to the rest of your trip report.

Thank you! It's great to be back! It feels good to have life settling. I'm looking forward to writing about the rest of the trip - there were some really great moments!

Hi, Brook! I have been following your move on FB and your blog! So glad you are in NYC and settling in!

How exciting that you were able to keep your DVC and book a trip!!! I :lovestruc your trip reports!

Thanks Jackie!! It's wonderful to be here - it feels like a dream still. We live right next to a bakery, so a very sweet smelling dream. ;)

congrats on the job and the move!!!!!!! and DVC even better! LOL!!!!

I agree! The move was enough for me - I knew we'd be back at Disney at some point, but to get able to move AND keep the DVC...:cloud9: :yay:

Isn't it amazing how God works!!!!!

I'm happy that you get to keep the DVC.......joe's da man!!!!!:thumbsup2

love you and miss you around these parts...

Yes, God is amazing! He's lined all this up. And I knew it. The waiting was hard, but I knew it would happen. I didn't know it would be this sweet...but it is. He's good. We are currently church hunting, that's always a process; but I know we'll end up at the right one for us. Hopefully quickly so we can get plugged-in and meet people too.

Joe's job is so great. He saw the job online and knew it was his job. And sure enough, it is! :goodvibes

It feels good to be back on the DIS. All the comments and prayers said for us has moved me to tears more than once this morning. You've been in the same boat and felt the overwhelming support of people here, so you know what I mean. It's an awesome thing. I can't stop smiling now.

God is good! :goodvibes Congrats on the move! Can't wait to hear all about it!

Yes he is! So good. It's hard to believe it all!

Once again I'm totally out of the loop by not being on facebook! You people are going to force me into joining aren't you?!

I'm so, so happy for you Brook! You're making your dreams a reality and you were able to keep DVC AND you have a trip booked :woohoo:

:lmao: Yep, you need to join! I've been better at updating there lately just because family is there and they all want to know too - but I do plan to bring the news to the DIS as well as I now will have more time on it again!

It's so hard to believe its all reality. The move, a great job, DVC, a trip, a new great apartment. I'm overwhelmed with how things have lined up!

Yay Brook!! What good news! :goodvibes So glad you are back.

Thank you! It feels great to be back!

:dance3:

Soooooooooooo happy for you guys!! WOO HOO that you were able to get another trip out of this year and are able to keep DVC!!

:yay: for Joe getting an awesome job!! I've been keeping up on FB and your blog! Loved the entry from Henry's point of view!! !:lovestruc

Can't wait til you are back on the boards but ENJOY your journey!! Your making memories daily and that's such a blessing!

~ gelly

Thank you gelly! It's been such great news lately - one after another. We waited forever for things to line up, but they did, and it's very sweet being on the other side. It will be a lot of fun to look back on these days and remember how fun they have been. They have been long days of re-arranging boxes, but we've been smiling the ENTIRE time!

 I agree! Just go make the account. ;)

CONGRATS!!! I have been following on FB and saw you arrived in NYC and were surrounded by boxes...I know the feeling. I am so happy for you guys that you were able to keep DVC and have a trip planned. Also a big Congrats to Joe on finding a job! Can't wait to read about the upcoming trip, the rest of the current TR, and your adventures in NYC!

Our new home has looked like a small warehouse the past few days, but we are down to just a few boxes now and a few plastic bins. Things are starting to take shape! :yay:

Nice to see you're back, and glad you got to keep your dvc!

Thank you! It is really great to be back on the DIS and having things settling!

So awesome that you got to keep your DVC!! :cool1: And hooray for a trip in September! What are your dates? We will be there in September too!

Congrats to Joe on the job. I've been keeping up with you on FB and your blog- I love the entry by Henry!! Can't wait to hear more!

Our dates are September 3-9, what are yours?

It was fun to write that post from Henry's point of view, I'll have to do a few more like that! He's loving his new digital camera, so that will come with us in September and make it into the TR too. :thumbsup2

Wow, how long did it take you to reply to all these posts? :goodvibes

Thanks for telling me about the bag! It's great that it was a conversation starter for you! I think I never told you the story about the bag: it is from the East German pedastrian traffic lights. There is a wonderful article about them in the English Wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ampelmännchen

And don't worry about my TR (link in signature), it is not moving very fast, so there isn't that much you have missed so far. I am still writing about our first day at WDW... :rolleyes1

Which reminds me - I ought to hop over there and post the next update! :woohoo:

I was determined to get those replies done! It took a couple hours to read through them all and reply, but it was well worth it. We had a lazy morning where Henry just wanted to spend time with his DaDa, so it worked well.

A friend of mine's fiance, whom I just met recently, told me they were from the traffic lights - he was quite excited to see it. He's traveled all over the globe (and is from New Zealand), items like this from other countries is one of his big interests. I love the story on Wikipedia, I had no idea it was a popular icon! This little character is much more interesting than our boring one here!

i actually catch u with the green light on!

Good luck church hunting....I've gone to my church a few times over the last few months and while it's been good, it feels funny to go and NOT work. I will praying that God leads you to a nice church family.

I know what you mean about the DIS for sure. Everyone here has been a source of comfort and support. I don't even know how to thank everyone properly....

Well I'm glad you're around. I'll take what I can get of you.:)

I am in awe of how fast everything happened for you! Like you said, God's plan, not ours! LOL!!

can't wait to hear more details! How does Henry like it??

Yes! You can take the LIRR, you have switch trains along the line and there's only a few trains a day but you can get here!

Have found your blog, loved Henry's own update!
And looks like we might be on for a Dismeet because we arrive on the same day! Looks like there are others too.
