A Tale of [family madness in] Two Cities - Final Thoughts & PTR Link!

Love the updates. Will watch the video later though.
Your FIL sounds like a hoot. It's hard to beleive he needs a wheel chair. He sounds like a sparky! LOL!

What a wonderfully long update!! :thumbsup2
Love your video additions! Your FIL in PT50C is sooo funny!! I am thinking he rather enjoyed himself there! My nephews got into loads of trouble...I was in tears I was laughing so hard! Loved the tour of the restaurant too....I was there at dinner and it was quite busy therefore not much exploring time! ;)
Henry is just such an adorable boy! :goodvibes I have two "ginger" haired nieces :) Cute PP picture of the three of you and Henry pinching your nose!
I smiled when I saw the MH reflected in the mirror while on the bus :goodvibes My niece found a MH on my snowboard yesterday!! I never noticed it before..it just blends right into the design but is now so obvious!! :rotfl2: Love it!!

Great update Brook. Loved the AKL photos.

And looks like your trip with your in-laws is going really well so far, hope Henry's cold doesn't get any worse :goodvibes

Wooh! Awesome update! :woohoo:

Seeing you enjoying your meal at 50's makes me miss our visit! I keep saying that I want to do all new things next vaca, but whenever I see the places I visited I feel homesick.

LOVE the videos, Henry is so cute! Hope to see more of those!

Thanks for the trip to Hollywood Studios/PrimeTime today. It's a nice way to end a real world school day. :thumbsup2

Henry looks like he's having loads of fun, except at the meal. He's getting to be such a big boy, and he will be so funny the more and more verbal he gets. Toddler-speak is good for many laughs.

Love the videos.

You guys are braver than I am. I would have hobbled in pain all the way around the walk to the bus stop for fear of someone yelling at me and drawing attention to me. Glad you got across safely w/o getting squished by a big old Disney bus!

Thank you! :goodvibes I know what you mean, going through the pictures and video make me homesick as well. I keep mentioning a Spring trip to Joe, but I know it wouldn't be wise, we really want to sell our house and all extra money must go there first. Sigh. Stinks being responsible sometimes!

What did your BIL do to get in trouble?

When we were seated at the table the waiter told everyone no phones at the table. My BIL thought it would to cute to call my husbands phone and get him in trouble, but the waiter caught him. So instead of DH who does not like the attention getting in trouble, BIL got to stand in the corner. He loved the attention, and the nieces and nephews love the fact he was in trouble.

:worship: great set of updates!! Your FIL sure had fun at 50's. Love when the waitress asks if he's sure he wants to tattle and he says "yeah." :rotfl2:

A chocolate shake that's too chocolately? :confused3 I must be a true chocoholic - I can't imagine it! :rotfl: Great photopass pics - and great detail shots at the Studios. I love how you take pictures of the details that I've rushed around too quickly to see! :) Henry looks like he's having fun in spite of his cold - he's so cute!!

What an AWEOSME update! We ate at PTC last trip when we had the whole fam and it's just too fun for a big group. I love that your FIL took on the waitress as a challenge. Seeing Henry laughing at his Poppa is just preiceless. You can sure tell he was having an off day though... poor little man.

Then hopping the fence: so funny! They say necessity is the mother of invention -- and that day it really was!!

Prime Time rarely disappoints.

Pot Roast---mmmmmmmm.

Your FIL is a rebel.

Some great pix of the detail of DHS....

AKV...I.Can't.Wait.

Great updaye-loved it. Great family lunch! SUper fun videos. WHat a fun day-until the meltdown...

What a fabulous update!! You got some cute pics of Henry in the HISTK play area!! I've not heard that they're going to redo it to be Toy Story-themed!! Cool! It looks like ya'll had a lot of fun at 50's Prime Time! How funny that Poppa had to stand with his nose to the wall!! :lmao: And your cracking me up w:lmao:ith all of you jumping the fence to get to AKL!!! That's hilarious!! :rotfl:

Oh my gosh!! :lmao::lmao: :rotfl2::rotfl2:

The video of your FIL getting in trouble for tattling was the best! It made it even funnier knowing that you weren't sure they would like to partake in the shenanigans! :lmao::lmao:

Sorry to hear that poor Henry had a major meltdown, I hope he starts to feel better on the trip!

Great Update!

I sat and read all your lovely posts last night, and could have sworn I had commented, but can't find a thing. Must mean I never did- or it was eaten by the Cyber Monsters.

:confused3

That video was hilarious of FIL! He sounds like such a fun sort of guy- and a bit of a rebel as well. Jumping the fence!!?? :lmao: Classic!

Henry is so adorable in the playplace pix! What a cutie pie!

Good call to go back early, I know it's hard to cut into park time, but better to take a little out than to allow yourself to get totally sick and ruin the whole vacay!!

Great update! :cool1:

Wish I could watch the videos but I am at work, your FIL sounds like a hilarious guy. Makes me look forward to the rest of the TR even more!

Great pictures of the Honey I Shrunk the Kids playground. Everything looks so real there. I can't wait to get there in June! I am always amazed at the details in your pictures, it really makes me want to slow down this summer and enjoy the smaller details. Disney really does it up and it is worth noticing.

Lunch sounds great minus the tantrum from Henry. We are not enjoying the twos (the terrible part) either. Most of the time Brooklyn is fine but when she has a tantrum she has a tantrum. :headache:

Thanks for the tip about the APs. I need to look into them. I assumed they were somewhat like the theme park here that you have to purchase them then activate them by having your picture taken and such so I did not know this was even an option for us.

I have heard the rumor a few times that they plan to re-theme it to Andy's Room from Toy Story, which I think would be excellent!

I hadn't heard that, but agree that it's a fantastic idea. I hope it's true!

Peanut Butter and Jelly shake for me. DELISH.

I've never tried that, but it does sound yummy!

Mmmm...Nobody got fried chicken?

You rebel fence jumpers...:rotfl2:

Denise

Great, great, great update Brook!! Loved it and all the video, too!!! Now I really feel like I was there!!!:thumbsup2 Pops is too funny!! I've never been to PTC before, I think I'm a little intimidated to go! LOL!!! I don't want to get into trouble, but the food looks really good! I had no idea. So sorry Henry had a melt down, these things happen with 2 year olds, blah!! But he recoverd nicely and you didn't let it ruin your meal, good for you!! Peanut butter and jelly shake?!!! Umm, if you have a recipe, I must have this!!! Sounds delish!?!!!!popcorn::

Can't wait to hear more!!!!!:goodvibes

I'm so excited about all the video my FIL did - I've always wanted to video tape like that, but never have! I'm still uploading....finally onto the New Orleans portion of the trip though.

I was a tad scared about PTC our first time too, but we had such a good time - even though we weren't feeling well, the waitresses are very good at reading you and won't push the crazy stuff unless you push back on them, like my FIL!

The food really is very good there! We all enjoyed the food! Here is the link to the pb&j shake: http://allears.net/din/rec_pbj.htm

That video of your father-in-law being part of the "castle support team" is hilarious! :lmao: Your waitress was a riot, it seemed.

Haven't had time to watch all the videos, but saw that one and the one of Henry at the playset. So sweet--but you can just tell by looking at those little eyes, that he did not feel so well. :sad2:

Love all your photopass pics. BTW, where was your bag during all those MK photos? ;)

Our waitress was really great! She played the role very well. She had worked all over WDW she said, pretty much just trying to avoid ever getting cut.

I agree about Henry - in the one picture above of him just standing there, you can tell. :sad1:

:rotfl: BACK IN THE ROOM!!! :dance3:;)

Love the updates. Will watch the video later though.
Your FIL sounds like a hoot. It's hard to beleive he needs a wheel chair. He sounds like a sparky! LOL!

I often forget he needs a wheelchair! He injured his back years ago at work, he's always had tough jobs - he's had numerous surgeries on it, and it's better than it was, but he just can't be standing/walking for very long. Which made getting a job for him really hard for a while.... :sad2: Thankfully he found something that he loves - he's the maintenance man, "fix it all" guy for a little local nursing home. It's perfect for him. :goodvibes

He's such a goof, always cracking jokes and just being silly!

Loved the picture of Henry pinching you nose.

Isn't that funny?! I laughed when I saw the PP got him doing that!

What a wonderfully long update!! :thumbsup2

Tracy

I had no idea he would be one to act out! It was great!! Glad you enjoyed the video. :goodvibes

We were pleasantly surprised at Henry's hair when he was born. We knew red hair ran in the family, but certainly didn't expect it! If it stays with him, I hope he likes it as he grows up!

That is very cool about your snowboard having a hidden Mickey! Your niece has a good eye - sounds like she's "trained" well.;)

Great update Brook. Loved the AKL photos.

And looks like your trip with your in-laws is going really well so far, hope Henry's cold doesn't get any worse :goodvibes

Thank you! The trip with the in-laws did go well, all the way through. As you'll find out, I was donnnnnne with playing tour guide by the end of the Disney portion though!

I understand! Same thing for me. We usually end up repeating one or two things on a trip and trying some new, so you get both experiences! :goodvibes The next trip that I have been planning so far just in my head has us in all new places...we'll see if that sticks!

Glad you like the videos! Yep, there will be mooooooore! Lots! And thank you for the compliment on Henry!

Thanks for the trip to Hollywood Studios/PrimeTime today. It's a nice way to end a real world school day. :thumbsup2

Doesn't it feel good to log onto the DIS and "walk around" a bit at the end of a long day? :cloud9:

I am looking forward to the stories Henry will tell us. Little kids are hilarious in what they come up with! Sometimes he already does some pretty silly things, so we'll see what he can come up with when he has all his words! :rotfl: I hope to write some down/video them!

I couldn't believe my FIL suggested to go over the fences! I instantly thought, "How will I write about THIS in the TR?! We have to be breaking a rule!" (and later in the week we found out about courtesy wheelchairs that you can sometimes find in the bus area....so who knows, there might have been one waiting for us even if we had just looked!)

When we were seated at the table the waiter told everyone no phones at the table. My BIL thought it would to cute to call my husbands phone and get him in trouble, but the waiter caught him. :rotfl2::rotfl2: that's great!!!! Kinda like my FIL trying to get my MIL in trouble. Shame, shame, shame!!! ;)

:worship: great set of updates!! Your FIL sure had fun at 50's. Love when the waitress asks if he's sure he wants to tattle and he says "yeah." :rotfl2:

Isn't his reaction hilarious?! I don't think he quite knew what to expect....!

You aren't alone in the chocolate thing! I'm not huge on chocolate, but I thought it was a bizarre description from him!

This trip I felt like I missed the details....too many people asking me questions, me leading the pack, plus dealing with a toddler and Christmas crowds. Made for an exhausting trip! :goodvibes BUT, I still slowed down to take in some at least!

Thanks!!! It was a great first meal of the trip, everyone loved it! I was shocked at my FILs behavior, I really didn't expect him to act out, but love that he did!

Prime Time rarely disappoints.

Pot Roast---mmmmmmmm.

Your FIL is a rebel.

Some great pix of the detail of DHS....

AKV...I.Can't.Wait.

That pot roast is soooooo very good. Yum! Joe is particular about his meatloaf and he ate every bite of that. I think everything is good there!

:yay: I'm glad I made you excited about AKV! It's beautiful and peaceful, truly feels like you are somewhere else, removed from Florida. Yet, Mickey is only a bus ride away. :goodvibes

Great updaye-loved it. Great family lunch! SUper fun videos. WHat a fun day-until the meltdown...

Ya, the meltdown was no fun....and leaving the park wasn't either! BUT, it was a smart move....
