I'd really like to see a sub section set up for all the games, and another for the exchanges. Right now there are at least 15 game threads on the first page. I certainly have no problem with them, but they seem to be taking over the Community Board lately.

Thanks for your consideration...

Anne

You've been here almost as long as I have: Have you really noticed that much of a difference recently? It seems to me that it has always been pretty-much like it is now. I haven't really noticed any significant change.

I would love to see this happen, but it seems unlikely because, I believe, part of the allure of the "game" threads in the CB is that they are mixed in with the other CB threads. Off on their own they'd perhaps feel more like pariah threads. :confused3

Actually I do think there have been quite a few more of them lately.

I administer and moderate a BB for a completely different topic, and about a year ago I was faced with this exact situation. I set up a new forum called "Fun-N-Games" for all the games threads, and the popularity hasn't waned at all. I didn't get one negative response. It was entirely positive, everyone loved it. The people who liked to play the games could find them easier, and the people who didn't no longer had them cluttering that MB's version of the "Community Board."

It also makes moderation a LOT easier, because we rarely if ever have an issue in the games area. The mods love it as well.

Ya but where would it stop? There could be a board for vents, a board for family issues... etc.

I visit a site with a separate games board and that board is one of the most popular. The game threads don't bother me but there does seem to be an awful lot of them lately.

:thumbsup2

I've seen this suggestion more than once and I always think it's a great idea.

I am in agreement!
The art of 'conversation' is indeed a dying 'art' around here!

A section for games, exchanges, last post etc etc...would be a good idea!

I suspect your requests weren't ignored but just not honored. ;)

The forums at Court TV did this about a year ago. Perhaps you're a mod there, or perhaps it's happening on several boards, but I'm with you. There has been no decrease in interest over there.

I personally would like all the gift exchanges, games and billion-posts-long-secret-club threads on their own little subforum. But, that's just me. I like the community discussion aspect of the community board but I have to look hard to find them! Most are secret-club chatting and exchanges or games.

It seems that the majority of page 1 is always some type of game.

I think is is a wonderful suggestion.
