I agree, Katrina isn't really fitting for that forum because it's got Wilma info in it as well. "Hurricane Forum" would be a better choice at this point.

I remember I posted the reminder for Florida residents about tax free week in the Hurricane Katrina forum, because I figured it fit better there, than anywhere else.

I know it didn't effect all DISer's, but just thought it would be a nice reminder to some of the more local folks.

Ok Anne let me ask you this, can't we also request a name change? I know its the Dis but lets be honest, half the people pronounce it as Dis and the other half as Diz. Why would we want half of the members to be wrong? What can the new name be?

I'd prefer to have fewer subforums, rather than adding more. It's already to the point where you have to go 2 or 3 levels deep to get to some things now.

And I'll echo other posters: where does it end? There are way too many categories for subforums than we could reasonably expect to navigate and still enjoy the boards. I think it's better just to have one big community forum as it is.

After a while, I've found it pretty easy to just ignore the game and club threads and find a topic that interests me.

Where does it end? It ends where the WMs of this site decide where they end.

Sub forums are made upon the whim of the admin of this board when they feel the need, not just BECAUSE. And most of the time it's needed by their standards.

I never even NOTICED the game threads until this thread and I was shocked! I think there's a reason for everyone here on the CB, might not be your cup of tea but it may be the reason some people feel a community here.

Frankly I prefer them to the cranky judgmental threads, but they will always exist as long as there are people on this board. Just as they do in RL.

I agree that a sub-forum for the games would be ideal. I also agree with Robinrs that it "ends" where the mods say it ends. They will decide what gets a sub-forum and what doesn't. I would also suggest that since they haven't put upa sub-forum for games, they never will. There IS already one for prayers and PD requests.
