A Surprise from Disney

My reservation was for 5 adults and 1 child (age 2). I called several times to make sure everything was set up right and i added the dining plan for the 5 adults.

I did online check-in 7 days prior to arrival. We i got there they had no record of online check-in for me. I showed her my online confirmation e-mail to show her i did indeed do online check-in. I got kinda worried. I went to the main check-in desk and they had my reservations as 4 adults and 1 child. They said i had paid for 4 adults and 1 child DDP and i would need to pay the difference once my ressie was changed to 5 adults. I explained that i paid for 5 adults and showed her the reciept that totaled 5 adult DDP. She called the mananger and it took about 15 minutes to straighten everything out. She told me that i had indeed made the correct reservations but somehow someone got dropped in the system.

I was very nice and the CM was very nice during this whole process. Does not do any good to get mad. I recieved my keys with the DDP on them and had a great vacation.

I think the mix-up happened because it was a split stay that included the DDP for the first half only. That's probably why they don't allow this to happen anymore.

I am going to guess that the refund was in error but now that Disney has read your post, they may fix the error.

they received all the entire DDP charge back.
btw, OP, unless you have your first and last name listed here, it would be extremelly unlikely disney would research this so they could charge you again .(i assume that is why you edited the post). what they might do however (without even knowing of your post), is refund the incorrect amount, and charging the correct one seperately.

I'm totally confused - where does it say the OP didn't have to pay for the DDP but got it anyway? I don't see that said anywhere, only that there was an error and the OP proved they had paid for 5 and it was resolved.

Thank you - I was thinking I was crazy! No big deal, but it was bugging me!

I had a canceled DDP charge, buy it showed up with in a week or 2 of being home. There was a question about DP, I don't remember now what, but the refund was super quick, before I got home, and the charge was after a bit.

I would not count on this quite yet, unless you are back home over 2 weeks by now.
