A Surprise fit for a Princess...A Pre-Trip Report

Hey Meghan!

I thought it was mighty loud in there too!! I don't know which is louder between that and the Rain Forest!!! That Ice Room kinda gave me the willies! You can't tell in the pictures, but the color makes your vision weird!!!:scared: There is no way I could eat in that room!:sad2:

And just so you all know--little Madison is even cuter in person!!! I love her to pieces!!!!! She is the sweetest little thing!!!!

The ice room definately did change your vision. I like knowing what my food looks like, so if we go there again, I'll request to not sit in there!

Oh, and we are still considering that Niagra Trip! You will definitely be the first to know!!!!!

Awesome!!!!

Hi! I was a lurker on your PTR but I figured I join in for your TR. I am also in Tonawanda, NY! I'm having fun reading about your trip and it's getting me ready for ours in 12 days!!

Can I ask if you think T-Rex would be good for a 2 year old? I'm not sure if it's too scary.

Yea! Thanks for posting! I personally don't think T-Rex is too scary. The T-Rex when you first come in is pretty big, but you only see him when you check in. The other dinosaurs move and make noises, but nothing scary.

Seeing that you're from Tonawanda....are you over this cold weather already or what! I want spring to come soooo badly!!!

I"m soooo over this!! I was practically in tears yesterday when it started snowing again. I was hoping we were done for the year.

My mom assures me today is the last day of the extreme cold! If only she had a crystal ball!:rotfl:

How did you make a ressie for T-Rex? The regular WDW # or another? It's cool that they accept WDW rewards points. :thumbsup2

T-Rex has their own number to call. It's (407) 828-TREX (8739).

Also....I'll be posting an update later today. I had to get my hair done and go to the gym, but I'm home now for awhile!!!!

Morning at Epcot January 25th

This was the day I had been waiting for (I know, it was only our 1st full day)!!! I hadn't been to Epcot since 1997 when I was 15 years old. My DH and DD had NEVER been!!!! I couldn't wait to show them around and experience all the new things I hadn't seen before. Let's just say, the last time I was at Epcot, it was a little outdated and they were just starting to build TT.

Yea! Disney property!!!!

It was a glorious morning as we arrived at the gate around 8:30am (as you will soon see, this was a trend) and there wasn't a huge crowd waiting. The sun was shining and I knew it was going to be a wonderful day. Before hopping in a line, we bought Madison an autograph book. She was just dying to get some autographs! We grabbed some maps too (remember, I hadn't been here in ages!). The first thing we needed to locate was the locker rentals. We knew it would get chillier at night, so we always brought jeans and hoodies and threw them in a locker for later. Once we went through the gates, my DH went to get a locker. Well, the line at the camera center was quite small, but very slow moving. I was losing my patience. What a great way to start the day! Anyways.....while Tony waited around, I decided to go outside with Maddie and snap a picture or two.

Maddie looking quite tiny beneath Spaceship Earth

Once the locker situation was handled with, we raced over to the The Land. We paraded down the stairs and were greeted by many CM's. I was so excited! Our goal was to grab FP's for Soarin' and then make our way over to Akershus for breakfast. Weeellllll......the standby line was only 20 minutes, so we decided to ride. As we inched our way through the line, a CM called out for a party of 3. Oooo! That was us! So, got to hop out of line and cut past a whole bunch of people. Once we reached the front, a CM told us a guest had changed their mind at the last minute and decided to ride. But, they let us stay there and told us we would get to sit in the front row. Woo hoo!!! It was our first time riding Soarin' and it was our first ride of the trip. Awesome! I did feel bad just standing there looking back at all the people we had cut. However, once we got all lined up in our rows, the people next to us had been the people who were waiting behind us originally! :thumbsup2 I didn't feel so bad then. After our AMAZING flight over California, we grabbed FP's for later and started making our way over to Norway.

Walking through WS while it's not officially open is amazing. It's so quiet and beautiful! While we were walking, there were many little girls all dressed up as their favorite princess. We told Maddie we were going to eat breakfast with the princesses and she was so happy! I asked her if I should have brought her Cinderella costume and she said no. She was quite happy wearing her pink t-shirt with all the princesses on it. What a good little girl she is!!

We checked in at Akershus for our 10:05 ADR and only had to wait about 15 minutes. They were a bit behind that morning, but I didn't mind. After our name was called, we joined the line for the picture with Belle. She was definately THE most beautiful Belle I had ever seen! Madison was so excited to talk to her and get her autograph.
100_0384.jpg

Sorry for the blurry pic. It's the best one that I have!

We were then seated only a few steps away from the photo spot and right near the buffet. Before I go on...for those of you who have eaten at Akershus.....are the Norwegian girls beautiful or what?! The hostess looked like a little doll and our waitress could have been a supermodel. Anyways......My DH went up to the buffet for some pastries and fruit so Maddie and I wouldn't miss the princesses. The first princess to arrive at our table (and rather quickly I might add) was Princess Jasmine. She was so pretty!! She told Maddie that she went on a magic carpet ride with Aladdin last night and he told her that she would be at breakfast. Very cute.
100_0386.jpg

Up next was Princess Aurora. Madison told her that she liked her crown. Aurora then told her that her dear fairies gave it to her. Since Madison was wearing pink, she told her that she better watch out for Merryweather or she would turn her shirt blue. It was very cute!

We had a brief moment to eat before Snow White made her way over to our table. In my mind, I thought she was a great Snow White. She didn't take as much time with Madison which was a bit of a bummer. I know they have a lot of tables to visit, but she didn't make a lot of conversation with her.
100_0389.jpg

Last, but not least, was Mary Poppins!!! Just that morning, Madison asked if we'd see Mary Poppins on this trip. I told her that she wasn't one of the characters that is out a lot. Madison hasn't even seen the movie, but she loves the music. We was SO happy that she got to meet her!!!
100_0391.jpg

I LOVE Mary Poppins dress!

Our breakfast was ok, but not spectacular. I LOVED the potatoes! I could have eaten those everyday! I also enjoyed the berry muffins on the buffet. So delish! Madison didn't eat much. I guess she was too excited. We made her eat some eggs and I think she had some grapes and half an apple. Oh well! I don't know if we'd do this breakfast again unless we do the DDP. It was very pricey! I like that we got a picture of Madison with Belle though. Oh yeah! She had to get her picture retaken because she had blinked. The 2nd time around, Belle told her she'd be in France later. How cute! By the time we were all done with breakfast, WS was just opening. So....we hopped over to Maelstrom with absolutely no wait. But, we did have to wait quite awhile for the movie to be over at the end so we could walk through the theater. I had no desire to sit through a movie.

We then made our way back to FW to throw our jackets in the locker. While we were over there, we decided to ride Spaceship Earth. I couldn't wait to see all the changes. I loved the ending when it builds your furture! So cool! Madison really enjoyed SE. After that, it was back to the Land so we could use our FP for Soarin'!!! This time, we sat in the 2nd row and I don't really like having to look at people's feet. It was still great though! I think that Madison could have stayed on the ride all day! After Soarin' we did Living with the Land with no wait. Awesome! We decided to not watch Circle of Life and walked over to The Seas. The ride is very cute, but not my favorite. It's better than the old Living Seas by miles though. Turtle Talk with Crush was hysterical!!!

100_0392.jpg

I don't consider myself a great photographer, but I love this pic! It wasn't until after I uploaded them that I noticed Spaceship Earth in the background. I totally didn't do that on purpose!

100_0393.jpg

We waited FOREVER to get this shot. Why do grown-ups push their way past 6 year olds to get their picture taken? Yeah. Not cool!

100_0394.jpg

She just HAD to have that headband! The characters seemed to like them too!

That's all for now. I hope to get my photopass cd soon so I can share my photos with you. We didn't get our first card until that afternoon, so I don't want to get ahead of myself. I hope that this will keep you happy for awhile!!!

Your daughter is real cute! Her smile is amazing! She's so happy to be there in every shot...!! Great pics! Makes me smile too when I see a genuine smile like that!

Great update, Meghan!! Love the pics of Madison you got with the princesses and especially the one with her and the Mickey ear headband, very cute!!!:cutie:

Meghan... what a great report so far... DD is such a sweetie.... can't wait to read more.... I love Mary Poppins too... what's not to love...s he is practically perfect in every way!!!!

My DDs had to have that headband too!! Sarah got it in blue and was wearing it when we met Bolt at DHS - he thought he could play with it - it was so funny!! I'll have to save the whole story for my TR (if I ever get going on it!) Your DD is so adorable I love her smile!!
That princess breakfast has gone up in price, but now they include the picture. I guess that's the difference. Before you had to buy a big old package with more photos than anyone would need.

Meghan -- Thanks for letting me experience the Princess Breakfast vicariously through you. I think my ds would cry if I made him go, but I'd love it! :)

Loving your TR so far! You gave me a laugh naming your GPS "Helen" cause that's my DD's name and I don't hear it too often! The breakfast looked fun, I would love to take my little girl someday, and I do agree with you, Belle looked so beautiful in that yellow dress!! Can't wait to read more, thanks for sharing your great pics too!!

She was just thrilled to be there! She is much better at taking pictures now. She was the flower girl in my older sister's wedding in October, so she's used to posing now!

Mary Poppins is just great! She was so in character. She even asked Maddie is she had been behaving so far today!

I think your girls were wearing them when we took our pic together! I'm surprised Madison wasn't wearing hers. They did start to hurt her head after awhile!

Glad you enjoyed it! I don't know how much a little boy would enjoy Akershus!:rotfl: Very girly!

I LOVE Belle's yellow dress. My sister's wedding dress closely resembled it, but it was ivory. I'd be nervous if she would have picked a bright yellow dress! Her dress had all those little pick-ups just like Belle's!

GOOD NEWS!!!! I got my photopass cd in the mail today!! I'm so happy!!!

We did Akershus on 2/17 for dinner and I think we had the same Jasmine and Aurora. They were very nice and friendly. I agree with you on the price. I wouldn't have done it, but being on the DDP made it affordable.

Your DD is beautiful! She looks like she is having the best time!

Oh, thank you so much! We do talk about WDW almost everyday now! We both want to go back very badly!

I think the only time we'll do it again is if we're on the DDP. Don't get me wrong, it was very nice, just expensive.

When staying at a Disney hotel I think the DDP is the way to go... it doesn't seem so painful paying the big trip off 45 days in advance as it does shelling out $100 for a breakfast that you only ate a few bites of.....

I have yet to do the DDP, but I'm very much looking forward to it!
