Hi!

In the past we've always gone to WDW in the Fall (Sep/Oct), however, now that DD (6) attends a school with a very strict attendance policy we need to start going to WDW when all the other families with school-age children go - summer.

Those of you that go in the summer which one of these weeks is the lesser evil? :p

June 12-19
June 19-26

July 10-17
July 17-24
July 24-31

Thanks!
Debbie

(P.S. I used to be "Emy'sMom" but we recently moved and I lost my passwords so I re-registered!)

I feel your pain. We have always gone in October but in 2004 will be going in July. I think I'm more concerned about heat than the crowds but I know it will be a drastic change from what we are used to. We will be going July 11-16. I'm sure there is someone out there who can fill you in on the crowd situation and let you know which week is better.

Good Luck! Maybe we will see you there.

We have done two of those times. I don't have a calendar handy, but we went starting fathers day once. I would say if you want a special ps then, make it because alot of the nice places were booked and taking no walk ups. We went to chef mickeys for dinner. Also by the 3rd week of June you could really tell the difference in the crowd increase. We have done the last week of July. We had rain to deal with as well as the foreign tour groups. The tour groups caused us not to get the whole stay at the Poly once. We had to switch and then caused alot of last minute ride change plans, especially when you see a herd of 50 of them stampeding to the ride you were planning to go on. Beware.

Ah, that's right - the foreign tour groups.

Isn't there a group from Brazil that visits and causes quite a ruckus? I never really paid attention to posts regarding that before because it never affected us. When do they visit? July?

I think I'm leaning towards early June - heading down the 12th .... I can't go on vacation for the first ~10 days of a month since I work in a corporate accounting office and we have close the month and prepare financial statements.

I would go the first week or the last.

The first because theres a chance some schools are still in session.

The last because the higher the temp the lesser the crowds.

We went in August a few years back and here're my best tips:

Stay in a home away from home resort, if you think you cant afford it, get AAA and rent a cabin at FT Wilderness, only slightly more than a moderate room (with fridge rental) with the 25% discount. We stayed at OKW. WE got going early and came back to the resort for lunch and quiet time and went back out late in the day. With the long park hours you wont miss anything but the peak crowds and peak temps.

take spray anti-persperant and spray your feet before putting shoes on. Change shoes mid-day.

Leave long hair wet and put it up. it will help keep you cool all day.

Hats: wear them. Sunglasses: bring extras. Sunscreen with Parsol 1789: use it.

Buy bottled water and freeze ove for everyone the night before. while it melts you will have nice cold water all day.
