Wow, Ruthie, I am sorry for my part in any of this, I believe I missed a little bit
So, on to other things........ My mom and I have decided to take that mini trip in March and I would love your suggestions. I was originally trying to do it as a secret but that just did not work out. We will of course wait to see what kinds of discounts there are at that time. This will be a long weekend trip 3 or 4 days without park tickets. We just want to check out the resorts and DTD, eat some good food and relax (and get a little bit of our disney fix!!!!
) But this needs to be a DISCOUNT trip, so we will take a minimal amount away from our big trip in Oct.
Yay! two trips in one year....I'm so excited![]()
It will depend on the weekend that you and mom will be here. You could very well be running into the Spring Break 2 week window. It gets busy during that time.
The resorts are a lot of fun to go exploring around in. The one thing that you have to remember is that there are no Disney buses that go from resort to resort. You will have to take a bus to a park or DTD to get on another bus to go to the resort you want to go explore. This could take an hour at times to do. A suggestion would be if you stay at the POP go to HS as this would be the shortest line to a park hub.
There are some resorts that you will only need to take one bus to and walk to the others in the area. POP and AoA are next to and in walking distance of each other.
The Boardwalk, Yacht and Beach Clubs, The Dolphin and Swan are all in the Epcot resort area and are just a few minutes to walk to each. Poly , Contemporary and GF are on the monorail.
Port Orleans French Quarter and Riverside are next to each other. You can walk to each other. You can also board the boats to DTD from here. It is a relaxing ride.
Wilderness Lodge, Fort Wilderness, Coronado Springs and the Animal Kingdom Lodge are very nice resorts to explore. They are themed very nicely. AKL has areas you can watch the animals from too. The only thing with these resorts are they are by themselves.
I have not been over to the Caribbean Beach in a about 25 to 30 years so I do not know what refubs/remodeling has been done.
