A SSR question

I am off to SSR with my wife and five year old daughter for three weeks on August 2nd, we are staying in a one bedroom villa. Does anybody know if there is any way that we can have a small camp bed of some description in the main bedroom for our little girl? I know there is a sofa bed in the living room area but it would be nice to be able to put our daughter to bed and then use this area to relax in the evenings. We are also a little concerned with the idea of her waking up and somehow getting out of the front door. I suppose that the alternative is to put her to bed in the main bed and for us to share the sofa bed, but it seems a bit daft for my wife and I to be crammed into a sofa bed while a tiny five year old sleeps in a king size!

Have you tried e-mailing Disney or phoning reservations to ask? Other than that I don't know. I do know that the room allocations are sorted out centrally rather than in resort, unless of course there is a problem.

The other posters are correct - no roll aways at SSR.

We are DVC members and have stayed in 1 beds with our DD. We found that by the time we returned to the villa, most nights we were all ready for bed so it didn't really matter.

The other alternative is to put DD to bed in your bed and relax in the living room. Then move her to the sofa bed when you go to bed.

I wouldn't worry about her getting out. The doors have the usual locks plus a safety bolt set higher on the door.

You can put the lock or bolt thing on the front door and she wont be able to get out. what about a lilo or something for her to sleep on in your room. we have stayed in a one bed and if you just keep your bedroom door open, i am sure you would hear her get up just like you would in your own home.

Hope you have a great time in my most favourite resort ever, saratoga springs.

Thanks for all your replies, I know I am a bit neurotic but it is a nice to hear about the bolts on the doors as my little princess' favourite trick these days is opening the front door (we keep it double locked most of the time!).

Definitely use the bolt thing, then there's no risk. When my DS was around 5 - he did exactly that. Because we were still asleep when he woke up, he thought we'd gone without him, so he went to look for us.

Think we were just in a room at WL but it was still dark, so he didn't see we were still asleep. Luckily, he didn't get far. A CM spotted him wandering on his own and I must have woke up minutes after he'd gone.

If you wanted to put her in your room, you could take a blow up bed. But it would probably be easier to put her in your bed then move her later.

You'll enjoy SSR - it's beautiful. I recommend the Springs section - it's so handy for the main building and pool.
