A song for traffic lights

Here is a silly song to sing when you are stuck at a red light. My sister and I wrote this several years ago.

(to the tune of "Home on the Range")

Home, home in the car
Where the lights are always red where we are
Where seldom is seen
A light that is green
And you never can get very far!

We try to be proactive at the stop lights.

We chant "Alacazoo, Alacazam, turn to green when I clap my hands" My children think they are magicians. But they can't quite understand why it ALWAYS works immediately when Mom does it.

I love making up silly little songs. I used to do it all the time when my kids were babies just to keep myself sane. My favorites were "When Daddy comes driving home from work, hurrah, hurrah!" And "I'm a cranky little baby" (to the tune of Yankee Doodle).

I've never thought about doing it in the car. My kids are old enough now to be mortified. What fun!
