A Solo Celebration of the Holidays & New Things to Explore Updated 3/3x3!!

In case you didn’t think Main Street was pretty enough at any time of year, check it out at Christmas, and specifically during a MVMCP, and when it’s snowing, it’s amazing! I did notice while I moved down the street that it is quite annoying to walk through the “snow” as it’s soap, and it kinda sucks. Lawl.

IMG_4497.jpg

There’s a better picture of the snow for ya! I headed on towards Fantasyland, as I had some characters that I knew I wouldn’t want to be missing!

IMG_4498.jpg

IMG_4500.jpg

Just as I approached the carousel, Peter and Wendy’s line had been closed, but they would be back out in just a few minutes, so of course I just stayed in line and became either first or second to greet them in the next group!!

IMG_4502.jpg

IMG_4503.jpg

Across the way by the new FLE wall were the Tremaines and Cinderella and her prince Charming saying hello to the visitors of the kingdom!

IMG_4504.jpg

Peter and Wendy had been scheduled to come out within about five minutes of when they left, I was guessing that their last set had run a little long, and that they would be returning later than the CM’s had said, luckily, they came back right on time!

IMG_4505.jpg

We chatted for a little bit, they were both wonderful, and they were nice enough to sign my book for me before we all posed for a picture!

IMG_4506.jpg

I had been checking out what characters were going to be out at the Christmas party, and hearing that Wendy was actually going to be out, well, that was the only one I really cared about (minus Flynn of course, haha!) With that done, I headed over into Frontierland to grab a place for the parade!

IMG_4513.jpg

IMG_4514.jpg

I spy Bert!! I swear, one of these days, I’ll get to meet him! Hahah, I know that they’re bringing him out for “True Love Week” as a part of Limited Time Magic this month, and that sucks that I’ll miss him by like, two weeks! Boourns! Also can we talk about how cute Duffy is, he’s definitely grown on me these past few years, and now I think he’s adorable! He was sitting there on the float just pretending to be a stuffed bear, and then would spring up and start waving at people, adorbs!

Snow on Main Street seems so amazing! I love the Christmas lights on the castle. One day I would love to see the lighting ceremony. By the time we go in January, they have the lights up but not the ceremony.

Aw Wendy and Peter look so cute! That parade looks awesome too.

I really do think Duffy is adorable. I'm slowly buying into his place in WDW :lmao: Now I think I need the stuffed one! :rotfl2:

Whew! All caught up. Looks like you had a lot of fun. Hope you are having a blast right now at WDW!

IMG_4531.jpg

Even Uncle Scrooge comes out to play around Christmas time!! Chip and Dale were being as crazy and cute as normally, throwing snow at each other and the people out in the crowds! They were having quite the ball in the snow!

IMG_4541.jpg

IMG_4543.jpg

The Princesses all have really awesome decked out floats for Christmas, or at least some of them do, haha!

IMG_4544.jpg

IMG_4548.jpg

Cinderella for example, has her carriage out and about pulled by horses for the special occasion! (I’m pretty sure it’s not actually *her* carriage, but hey, it’s pretty!)

IMG_4556.jpg

Around the time of the rest of the princesses came around on the float, I noticed something, the Prince Naveen I had been searching for this trip, well, there was a reason I had yet to see him out and about….turns out he’s the one trained on the Christmas parade….yup…he was there…but not meetable…..boo….

All I wanted was to see someone stick 6 coco puffs up their nose…

Oh well. Since I knew where he was now, I figured I’d pop over to say hi to Tiana and Naveen, and made my way over there as the parade was still going on. I lined up with not much of a wait, and before long we were all chatting. We talked for a bit, and then I asked Naveen if he could do me a small favour, that there was a very good friend of his that I had been wanting to meet, and in fact, they had just been hanging out in the parade together, so I was wondering if he could pass on hello to his friend for me. I explained the history, and how in Sept we had talked about how the friend could fit 6 coco puffs up his nose and all, and Naveen and Tiana had quite the laugh about that, and he assured me he would pass the message along!

IMG_4561.jpg

I thanked them both, and said good night as I headed back into the hub, I’m pretty sure somewhere along there I grabbed some more hot chocolate to try and keep warm, and grabbed a spot for my next viewing of magic!

Too bad you didn't get to meet your Naveen. At least you know why he wasn't out.

All the Christmas outfits are so cute. Snow on Main Street sounds much more magical than the real stuff we keep getting.

Hope you enjoyed your trip!

Oh man, not seeing him over Christmas was made up for on this last trip, have I got stories galore!! Lol

Soap snow is a millions time better!!

Aw at least you got to see your Naveen in the parade :rotfl2:

Can't wait to hear the new stories about him from this trip!

The Christmas theming is gorgeous! I'm gonna have to make it to a MVMCP one day:goodvibes

Ah finally all caught up on the computer with all pictures showing properly and such!

LOVE the pictures of BOG. 10:45 definitely wasn't a bad wait. Especially since I've heard stories of people waiting 45 minutes at restaurants when they had an ADR :rotfl2:

I'm so sad we didn't go when we were there. Definitely a priority for next time.

Isn't Gaston just awesome?!?! I can't wait to get to that point in our TR. We had an amazing interaction with him. Although, I love that your picture with him is in front of his fountain. Ours was not. Boo.

I'm fairly certain we met the same Aladdin and Jasmine when we were there too! They were awesome.:thumbsup2

I still haven't met Peter Pan. I'm pretty sad about it.

MVMCP seems awesome. I definitely need to get myself to that and MNSSHP. The princesses and princes together! UGH I would die! Glad you had such great interactions with them and the fairies!

Be Our Guest will always be worth it!! It's just so amazing in there, definitely try and book it for your fall trip for dinner, dinner is even better!!

I think he kinda moves around depending on where the sun is and stuff, I like that he was in front of the fountain, but I'm sure people trying to get pictures of the fountain didnt!

Peter's a tricky one to find, I'm pretty sure he's not on the times guide, and once the castle show starts he's got to be over there so his greet times are pretty tight!

Get yourself to some of those parties!! I'm definietly planning on getting to at LEAST two of them this fall, it's going to be amazing!!

I've never actually seen the lighting ceremony, just once it's already lit up, I've gotta get myself to that one of these days!

Whew! All caught up. Looks like you had a lot of fun. Hope you are having a blast right now at WDW!

Of course we were!!

I was just happy to know that he was still around!! I was sad that his *friend* had left!

I had just grabbed, we think, another hot chocolate and some apple slices along with my spot for the next show. Now, you’re going to have to forgive me, I can’t remember the name! It took place of the Magic, Memories and You recently, and no, it wasn’t anything special for the MVMCP.

It has the same idea of the old show because it does project things onto the castle and make it look really cool, and here are some of the best ones!

My favorite part of the show was near the end:

Uncle Walt! Ugh! I’ve been on such a Disney kick recently, yes, even the obsessed can be on a “kick” at points, lol! I have a bunch of the park background theme music on my Ipod now, and cannot wait for the next trip. I also have seen so many pictures recently online of Walt, like sitting in DLR, or leaning on a trash can in Adventureland talking with some teenagers, like, how awesome would it be to be walking through the park and just see Walt chilling, being all like “come, let’s chat” UGH. So many feelings.
I really did enjoy the show ,it was super cute, and of course, all set to music, I had seen bits and pieces earlier in the week, but hadn’t actually sat down to watch it yet. I think I like it better than the Magic Memories and You because you can actually see the projections on the castle. I found with the old show the pictures were always too small to see if you were one of the pictures or not!

Fireworks are comin’ at ya! Stay tuned!!

Step one of this update: go here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tf1t5IwaNPw

Wait for it to load a bit, then click play and listen along while you look at some pictures!!

I had a pretty decent spot over in the hub for the fireworks, and actually decided that since I had a better camera this time around, I would take the pictures on there rather than with the Iphone, probably get some better quality pics that way!

I’m actually really please with that one! I think it’s great, haha!

IMG_4628.jpg

They had these really cool spinny fireworks on the castle this time too, I thought they were super cool and awesome, and definitely tried to get a better zoom in on them!

IMG_4629.jpg

IMG_4630.jpg

IMG_4631.jpg

Aren’t they cool?? I liked them! Heehee, yes, I’m a child!

IMG_4632.jpg

IMG_4635.jpg

IMG_4638.jpg

IMG_4640.jpg

IMG_4641.jpg

Yaaaay!!! Of course, I loved them, you really can’t go wrong with Disney fireworks, that’s for sure, or this awesome castle!!

IMG_4642.jpg

I mean, just look at that beauty! Ugh. With the fireworks over, I really only had the ending of the parade to watch, as I’d skipped out after the princess float came by, I headed back to Frontierland!

I managed to grab a spot right by the rope just beside a lovely family that wasn’t too concerned with one more person beside them, yay! The Frontierland Band came out to hang around for a bit, all decked out in Christmas lights!

IMG_4643.jpg

IMG_4644.jpg

IMG_4645.jpg

Then it was parade time! My camera was kinda dying by this point, and since we’ve already shared a bunch of pictures, I don’t have a whole lot to share, but I tried to get some better ones of people here and there!

IMG_4648.jpg

IMG_4650.jpg

IMG_4653.jpg

IMG_4655.jpg

Oh hey Naveen, so nice of you to drop by!

IMG_4657.jpg

IMG_4660.jpg

IMG_4661.jpg

Those little guys in the cars reminded me of Turbo from Wreck It Ralph! Turbo Tastic!! Then came the Toy Soldiers! Yay! I love that some of them are actually playing the trumpets!!

IMG_4670.jpg

IMG_4671.jpg

IMG_4673.jpg

That was the end of the parade for real this time! I quickly used my people weaving skills and cut through Adventureland to get back to Main Street, and ended up actually walking along side the princess float as I attempted to exit the park, but got some nice snow pictures on the way out!

What a magical picture to end off a TR with. Yup, you heard correct, that is the end of the trip! I got home to Coronado pretty quick that night, packed up all my things, and attempted to sleep nice and early. The magical express picked me up really early, and I did start thinking for a while that I had missed it, thanks to the fact that it was late, and there are seriously NO cast members around at that time of morning! With a pretty boring flight I was home, and happy to be there!

And yes, I did just say that, this trip was a trip that I was actually very happy to be headed home! Honestly, a solo trip can be amazing and fun, but thanks to the crowds, and the weather being colder than I had expected, I was okay with leaving. Also, a broken toe/foot didn’t make for fun walking everywhere, and because I was solo, I did honestly miss the boyfriend, bahaha! HOWEVER, I’ve got a summary of everything in the next update!!

Well Ladies and Gents, it’s officially come to that time again, the time that the trip is officially over, I’ve been home for 3 months since, and it hasn’t been nearly as magical here at home, okay, maybe it has been a little bit! So, here, for those of you who are new to a trip report by me, I kinda just go over everything that occurred during the trip, and review it all.

Resort: Coronado Springs Resort
3/5
Yup. I went there. That’s a low score, and honestly I thought about scoring it lower than that, but I figured I’d be nice, it’s a Moderate, right? Well; here’s why: The distance from the lobby/food court/restaurants was horrendously long, and on a broken toe, by myself, at night, it just wasn’t fun.
If I wanted coffee or food in the morning, I had to walk all the way to the main area, and they got picked up by busses last, so they were usually packed and you’d have to wait for the next one. No thanks.

The counter service place in there was way too tiny to move around at meal times, especially in the mornings, and it was very unclear on whether there was another CS place in there or not.

Overall, pretty rooms, and a nice resort, but too spread out and large for me, would I stay there again? Nope, sorry!

Time of Year: November/Thanksgiving weekend:
Never again. LAWL. I will definitely go in Nov, but not over Thanksgiving, especially when a brand new area of the park has opened, it’s just not a good idea crowd wise, otherwise, I vote all yeses!

Now, onto dining, my favorite part!!

Casey’s->Magic Kingdom Great, a nice place for a delicious hot dog or corn dog nuggets, definitely a place that I splurge when I’m on vacation, who cares about it being deep fried, it’s delicious!!

Café Rix-> CSR Resort Not good.
Tiny space, no room to move around, only two coffee machines on the go, and one til, not many options for breakfast, and all were greasey, yuck.

Sunshine Seasons->Epcot Amaazing! I HIGHLY recommend stopping in here for a snack or breakfast, or any meal. They’ve got amazing nice, fresh options of food, and tons of places to sit. The best of Future World for sure!

Le Cellier->Canada in Epcot If you can get the ADR, DO IT! It is BY FAR the greatest filet I’ve ever had, and they have amazing soup, bread and drinks. Service is great, atmosphere’s a little dark, but hey, it’s supposed to be a wine cellar, right? Definitely worth the price/two dining credits!

Uncrustables Just do it. If you like Peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, or your kids do, let them eat these, they’re a great pick me up/snack./meal/dessert, any time of day they are acceptable. Be aware that if you just want the sandwiches, some places don’t do that, and you have to get the whole combo!

Pizzafari Breakfast-> Animal Kingdom: Pretty good, just basic breakfast bounty platter that you can get anywhere on property, but they’ve got good atmosphere and a ton of space in there. Its also good for lunch, basic Disney pizza, but good!

Yak and Yeti-> Animal Kingdom: A really nice change for me! Good if you like Asian food, but you might want to steer clear otherwise. Also, don’t expect any deep fried “delivery” type food here, it’s all delicious and awesome. Make sure to try the won tons

Be Our Guest->Magic Kingdom: Worth it, just worth it. Heck, I would make an ADR just to see the inside of this place. Everything in it is perfect and beautiful and I just can’t talk about it enough! Food is incredible too, and all the kids meals are “Mickey Health Checked!” Yay!

Cosmic Rays: Always a favorite! There’s so many different options of things to eat, burgers, chicken nuggets, roasted chicken, sandwiches, etc. Tons of space, and a singing alien in one of the rooms, awesome!!

I love MVMCP. There is something so magical about the snow on main st. Plus it's so much better than the real stuff.

Sounds like you had a great trip. Sometimes I feel the same way you did at the end-your just ready to get home. I enjoy my solo trips but sometimes I'm just ready to get back. But always seems that as soon as I'm back home I want to be back at WDW. haha I never can win! Just means you gotta go back! :thumbsup2

I agree, that last parade picture from Main Street with the snow is pretty magical. I can't wait to read about your newest trip!

Loving the snow picture Katt. It's lovely.

One of these days we'll brave the crowds at Christmas time.

Can't wait to hear about last week's trip!

I really love the new castle show so much better than the old one!

Great pictures of Christmas wishes! Love the snowflakes on the castle.

Oh those toy soldiers are adorable. Snow on Main St looks so magical!

Definitely an amazing picture to end your TR with! Glad you had an awesome time.

I love the reviews you do at the end of the reports:thumbsup2 I definitely use them for future trip planning. DBF has heard a lot about you in Disney Trip Planning :rotfl2: My sentences usually start with "Well on one of Katt's trips, she did this and ate here and stayed here" and his used to be "We don't know anyone named Katt" :rotfl: but now he goes "Oh the one from the Disboards? Ok!":goodvibes

Hi Katt. I posted over on your other TR, but I wanted to thank you for this one in particular. I'm currently considering a solo trip so it's great to get some perspective. I also think I saw you last March in Disneyland (I've been reading your reports from the beginning, just never posted). Looking forward to the next TR.

So much better!! I was in Florida enjoying the sun and warmth on Saturday, and lugging myself through a foot of snow on Sunday, ugh! It was an amazing trip, but I was happy to be home, not so much anymore, haha! I can't wait until I can be down there permanently haha!

Thanks!! The benefit of the Christmas parties and festivities is that you can go in mid December and get all of that, but not get the actual holiday crowds!!
