October 22nd Woke up around 7:45 ish and made the first coffee run of the day. DW was not quite ready to meet the day yet so I took my cup out to the balcony and watched the sun come up over the Seven Seas Lagoon. My lovely bride soon joined me and we decided to just have breakfast in the room. Rousted the boy and we did the male hunter/gatherer thing in the concierge lounge returning with all sorts of pastry, fruit, and cereal. Over breakfast we decided to hit MK before going to Epcot to eat out way around the world at the wine and food festival.
After a round of showers we hopped the monorail for the quick trip to MK. The park had only been open about 15min so we proceeded in and caught the train to the back of the park. DS and I walked on Splash Mountain while DW procured fast passes for Thunder Mountain Railroad. Managed to get through Splash with out getting too wet. Met up with DW and checked on the line for TMR. It was still walk on so DS and I went in and got right on. DS rode the whole ride this time with no hands, quite an accomplishment for someone who just last year got past his fear and rode his first coaster. Since we did not use our fast passes DW passed them on to another family and it was off to see if we could get on Space Mountain. Walked over to Tomorrow Land and found that there was only a 10min wait for SM. DS and I jumped in line while DW poked around in the shops and found a shady spot to sit and people watch while her boys got another fix for their coaster jones. Rode the right side and I think Im about ready to call SM my all time favorite coaster but then there is Rockin Roller coaster to consider. I think I need to do more research on that one. Well the crowds were starting to build and it was getting on to lunchtime so our small phlock grabbed the monorails over to Epcot.
We went straight to the World Showcase and started on the right side(sorry folks we went left last year). First stop was the Greek booth, gyros and white wine. DS brought back potato pancakes from the Hungary booth, really very good. Walked around to Morocco and enjoyed lemon chicken, veg cuscus, and a beef kabob. At Japan we sampled the Sake and Tokyo roll. Corn chowder from the USA and spicy pulled chicken and shrimp something from South East Asia. We were wearing down some so we decided to go kick back at the hotel for the afternoon so it was back the to monorails for us.
DS headed for the arcade and DW and I soaked our feet in the pool for a few minutes. We then just walked around the CR and made our way back to the room for a well-deserved nap. Dinner was at the Steakhouse in the CR followed by shopping in the shops in the CR while DS took advantage of a kids only pin trading area. He came out happy, as he was able to collect all of the hitchhiking ghost pins. Made it back to the room in tome to mix another adult beverage and catch the MNSSHP fireworks. These were outstanding!! A lot of green and orange, a lot of pumpkin shaped ones. They shot them off from all around the lagoon as well. I dont think there was a better view to be had than our own little parrothead perch on the twelfth floor.
