A Sister & Brother Return! The Trip Report! Updated 10/31--Page 23!

great update and pics.

too bad about Fantasmic.

Yeah that was annoying. We were waiting on that crowded hill forever, and we saw people walking back. Not even once did we ask why they were leaving. I have no clue why...Anyway, it wasn't that bad I guess. It was actually kind of relaxing to not walk around a crowded park :thumbsup2

That turkey leg picture is great!

I'm sorry about Fantasmic. That's a bummer. Sounds like you had fun anyways.

The desserts at Chef Mickeys look delicious!

Coronado is so beautiful! Chef Mickey's looks like alot of fun. I just skimmed since I have missed so many days. I can't wait to read the good stuff.

Hi Nicole!
Sorry about Fantasmic. I bet y'all saw it later in the trip :goodvibes
You got to meet Wall-E, how fun! Cute photo with the turkey leg, yum!
Keep the updates coming!
Jen :)

I love WALL-E he's so awesome. He's my favorite disney character. You can't really see it, but in my picture, I'm giving him a piece of paper that was crushed up into a ball.

Great update!! Your fountain at Coronado is so pretty!! It's so nice when you get a room like that at Disney and you can feel like the courtyard is your very own! LOVE Chef Mickey's and the turkey leg (though totally agree they're too huge!)....you are making me sooo hungry! :rolleyes1

The room location was pretty good, I agree about the turkey leg!

Great update Nicole!! We did Chef Mickey's a few years ago. Love that place. The food is ok, but the character interaction is really a lot of fun. Hope you got to see Fantasmic later in your trip!

Cathy

Yeah we thought the food was So-So, but you go for the atmosphere!

Missing Fantasmic what a bummer. :guilty:

It really was!

It's nice to see that David liked his hat.

Or is he just staging that to be nice to MeMom? ;)

Brooklynn will like seeing Wall-E. She's never seen the movie, but she knows who he is from the Disney Channel, which she might occasionally be exposed to. Hopefully, they can go by and see him in October.

I do the same thing with turkey legs. It is either share or waste. We usually share. They're so good and so big! I could be happy walking through the streets of Hollywood Studios gnawing on a turkey leg waiting for Fantasmic tonight. I really could.

No he really really liked his hat! David loes Wall-E, I have more wall-e pictures with him in them! I had no one to share my turkey leg with but I will in December!

I'm loving your trip report! If you ever need an extra person for a trip, I love thrill rides and don't cause much trouble! :goodvibes

Haha i'll keep you in mind!

Oh, what a lovely evening at Disney World! :goodvibes

My favorite part of Chef Mickey's were those Mickey oreo bonbon things. So good! What a weird thing for the woman to ask you about posing with the characters -- apparently she is not a DISer! :rotfl:

Love the gift shop pics, but a bummer about Fantasmic!

Can't wait for AKL!

Yeah I thought it was weird I got kind of offended, like why else would I be here? I couldn' wait for the AKL either! Update later tonight or tomorrow

This picture freaks me out! That guys head is positioned so perfectly in between the shelf and the top of the picture that it looks like some random head sitting on the shelf   Anyway, great set of updates! CSR's gorgeous; I love the fountain and pool area. That slide looked like so much fun, thanks for including the video! Sorry if this was asked before but do you have a waterproof case for your camera? I was thinking of getting one but wasn't sure which one to get.

Animal Kingdom, Chef Mickey's and MGM... now I'd call that a good day! I'm glad you guys had fun. And both pins are so cute, I wonder which one you chose... I'd probably go with the second one but I like them both!

OMG I didn't even realize that!! The case I have is called a Dicapac. I got it off ebay it works great! We had a really good day you're right about that!

Oh my gosh, you are right! That is so creepy looking! Good catch!

I didn't see it either!

 I had to point it out after I saw no one else had. That picture's hysterical!

:rotfl: :rotfl:

Hi!!! I'm back and caught up with your TR now!

So far so good minus the knee injury!

I am loving David's comments thrown in.

I'm so glad you liked CSR I really think its a beautiful resort!

can't wait to hear more!

Hope you are ok down there with he carpy weather!!!

Actually our weather isn't crappy at all its been really nice!! Sorry to ehar you had so much rain in Orlando :( Did you start yout TR yet??

great update and pics.

too bad about Fantasmic.

Thanks Scott, you must be getting excited!

That turkey leg picture is great!

The desserts were really good at Chef Mickey's!! It was really a bummer about Fantasmic I was really upset!

Coronado is so beautiful! Chef Mickey's looks like alot of fun. I just skimmed since I have missed so many days. I can't wait to read the good stuff.

Chef Mickey's is a lot of fun, I like it better for breakfast though it seems a little less hectic and the food is better, I mean how can you really mess up eggs, pancakes, and waffles? lol!

Hi Nicole!

Jen :)

The Wall-E areas of DHS are david's favorite!!

That resort is way huge! I think we stayed around you, because we too were close to that fountain.

I am shocked that David did Everest AND you touched that snake... yuck!

Way cool that you met Jiminy Cricket. I have never seen him out!

I will be more excited after I call the doctor tomorrow.

Hey, I just found your TR and went through the whole thing. I'm really enjoying it...sounds like you had a great trip! I like all your pictures and the videos. :thumbsup2

I can't wait to hear about AKL...we stayed there in May for the first time and had a blast. Looking forward to more. popcorn::

Today was an exciting day because today was the day we would be moving over to the AKL!! It was weird in a way because even though we had been in Orlando for 4 days, and Disney for 2, it was almost like the start of our vacation. We could finally settle in at a hotel, unpack, and stay there for a while, so we were really excited! We woke up extra early so we could take our luggage over to Bell Services and have them transfer everything for us. The night before we had debated on 2 options...1 we could wake up early, drive over to AKL, check in, check our luggage with them and than proceed to the park...or 2, have CSR transfer our luggage, and in the afternoon drive over there and check in to AKL. It was a tough decision but as you can see we went with the second option. This was a total breeze, I would say the 1 perk about splitting stays was how streamlined the transferring of the luggage was, but I will be honest and say I am not a fan of splitting the stay. Unless I have no other option, I'd prefer not to do it again. So after we checked our luggage we went over to Pepper Market for breakfast.

David getting his omelette and some early morning CSR photos.

We took the bus over to MK and made it with time to spare for the opening. It was HOT and it was hotter than it was before, and it was 8:30!! I was really worried, David said "Take a picture of the sun" so I did.

At the opening, we went to Splash Mountain and grabbed FP, we knew this would get busier later in the day especially if the heat stayed like this.

IMG_4633-1.jpg

On our way to tomorrowland, we saw photopass photographers all lonely, so we took our pictures with them and than one of them told us that if we waited another few minutes peter pan and wendy would be out!

After our time in Neverland, we attempted Space Mountain. The line was all the way through Tomorrowland!! I mean this was about 10 minutes after opening!! I just couldn't believe it! Grrr...No Space Mountain at that time.

We walked over to Fantasyland and did Pooh, Peter Pan, and Small World with either no line or minimal wait which felt more like it!

We continued clock wise after that heading on to Haunted Mansion with no wait. We were the last ones in the room, but than the door opened right behind us so we were the first ones out! We were so excited!! Seriously, these 2 kids don't need dreams, its these little things that make our day, we were smiling about that for like 15 minutes afterwards. :rotfl:

It was almost time for our SplM FP so we headed over to Frontierland and FP Big Thunder...

Okay time for my favorite! SpM!!!

Afterwards we stopped for David's favorite thing Dole Whip!! We took our Floats on to the 20 minute POTC wait, this is always a fun thing for us to do: Dole Whips and POTC, they go hand in hand!

Back tracked to Big Thunder because our FP were already valid! We love this ride, another one David conquered a few trips ago! We're always giddy with laughter on this coaster!

We walked to the other side of the park and FP Space Mountain, we were coming back that night, so the 4pm return time worked out well.

Okay so enough was enough, we couldn't take it anymore! The heat! We had to give in and buy a $20 fan, it was at the point where we would have just passed out. We were getting cranky from the heat so I had to do something. This did the trick!! We adopted him and gave him life "He will henceforth be known as Jeffrey" and he became our third wheel! He was well worth the money!

IMG_4643-1.jpg

I'm hot, i'm tired, and if i even so much as look at another line i'm going to punch someone in the face...TTA time!! Twice!

david_thought.png
: Yeah, it was me who she would have punched. It was my idea to go the second time :)

It was time for us to make our exit, so we took some last Photopass pictures, and took whatever energy we had left to Pecos Bills for lunch.

image188-1.jpg

This place was mobbed! We had to wait to get a table, at this point I was just not in the mood anymore, I couldn't believe how crowded it was! I mean we had a fantastic morning because we got on a lot of stuff with barely any waits at all, but the way the crowds were looking I just couldn't figure out how we did it. This is a good time to note about the lack of pictures, I don't know how I ended up with so few, but I think I just didn't have enough energy to take more! lol!

We still enjoyed our lunch and we headed for the exit

I mean gift shop!!

Oh, this minnie looks comfortable!

David grabbed my arm and pulled me out of there, he was anxious for the AKL! Lets go!!

Yay AKL and super yay for riding TTA to cool off and avoid lines for a bit. I love the relaxed feeling from TTA.:thumbsup2

We are the same way!!! The littlest things make our day!

My favorite MK treat -- I love the idea of eating them in the POTC line -- I will have to remember that.

HURRAY! HURRAY! HURRAY!

Love that photo pass pic of you 2!

I can't wait to hear all about AKL but I am secretly jealous that you had no rain on the trip.

Sounds like a rough morning! I bet AKL fixed that right up for you!

Can't wait to hear about your experience there.

I hate heat.

great update and pics.

sounds like the morning was good for rides.

Can't wait to hear about AKL.

You poor things! You could have melted faster than those dole whip floats (yummo). I hope your room was ready when you got to AKL! You both deserve a break! You got a ton done in the AM though, so be proud!:thumbsup2

You have given me a great idea with the dole whip float. I can't wait to try that. I can't wait to hear about the AKL.
