A Sister & Brother Return! The Trip Report! Updated 10/31--Page 23!

I love the pictures of CSR. So beautiful. I have got to swim in the that pool some day and slide down that slide. And no, I don't think I'm too old for the slide. You're only as old as you feel and when I'm at Disney I feel 20 years younger (except for at the end of the day when I have to walk all the way out to the farthest bus :lmao: )

Your pictures at AK are great too. We didn't do several of the things this trip that you guys did, so it's fun seeing your pictures. We ate at Pizzafari one day too and had the pizza and you're right it is good. It's got to be the Disney Magic!

Cathy

Can you believe that I have stayed at CSR... and didn't know about the pool!!! I feel like such an idiot!!! How could I have NOT known about the pool!!!! ugg!

That is a tag that would be so true for me! Do you know one of the reasons I keep coming up with for a possible October trip is that there would be Food and Wine Festival souvenirs that I could get. I am not even kidding -- I am seriously contemplating another trip just to get a spoon rest with the F&W logo. I can't be right!

:rotfl: thats not crazy at all! I want to go to F&W for other reasons but that would be a perk!! lol! If i'm ever there for F&W i'll look for your spoon rest!

:scared1: You touched a snake!

:rotfl: :rotfl: It wasn't slimy :)

Just read your whole report. What a good sister you are for taking your brother on that fantastic trip!!!! Can't wait to read more!

Thanks for reading and welcome!!

Did someone say "Gift shop" ????! I'm in!!! :)

Aren't the gift shops the best?? They are themed and each one has unique merchandise its why you have to go to all of them! Men..pft

:scared1: I can't believe you touched a snake! :scared:

CSR looks so pretty and that pool looks awesome!

The snake was okay though I made sure that it wasn't going to kill us lol

Disney pizza tastes better because you are in Disney!

I'm sure glad you didn't pass up that gift shop. Island Mercantile has so much cool stuff. No pictures of the purchases?

Oh, and the 'fierce' picture. Very scary indeed. You rival GMax and her annual Dinosaur picture.

Good pictures of CSR. It is a beautiful place!

The hat looks good, David!

The purchases were actually from the pin place they have near the exit, I needed a new pouch for my lanyard and david wanted one too, I have purchase pics though coming up!

Glad you liked the Coronado

It wasn't the best but it wasn't terrible...i'll talk about it more at the end of our stay there

:yay: Yay! You met Jiminy Cricket:yay:

:scared1: You touched a snake:scared1:

:woohoo: David rode EE-and LIKEd it:woohoo:

I want to get a jiminy cricket tatoo! I wont, but i want one! Wait till you see what else david gets on...but its after our DIS meet so we have a bit to go lol

Mmm, doesn't everything taste better at Disney!! I'm craving disney pickles and popcorn.

EVERYTHING is better in disney!

Cathy

Nobody is ever too old for the slide!! Its a SLIDE...There were so many adults going down that thing! The pizza is so "fast food" it has to be the disney magic!!

I think you're right about being 20 years younger at Disney...your worries aren't there and everyone else is acting like a kid so it gives you an excuse to throw on the mickey ears and just let yourself be free!

Can you believe that I have stayed at CSR... and didn't know about the pool!!! I feel like such an idiot!!! How could I have NOT known about the pool!!!! ugg!

How did you not know about the pool with the giant mayan pyramid?? lol! Thats okay, this was the only time we made it over there

Way to go, David! You conquered EE!!!

The pool looks like so much fun!

Wait till you see what else he conquered!

great update and pics.

CSR looks beautiful.

loved the video. that slide looked like it went on forever.

I'm getting a Disney surprise from Nicole. Yay!!! I can't wait to see what it is, but I hope it was free or cheap. I hope you didn't waste future trip money on me.

We got back to the room feeling very refreshed and just relaxed for about an hour before we headed out for the contemporary. We were headed to Chef Mickey's!

I took this picture in front of my fountain!

Bus to MK, Monorail to Contemporary, worked perfect!

We checked in and didn't even make it to the photo line before our buzzer went off. We got a seat right near the buffet in a prime location, sat between two really cute families. Although I got kind of upset at one point because the family net to us on the left was wrapping up with the characters so the woman on the right of us said "Are you guys going to take pictures with the characters?" No lady, we're here for the AWESOME food, of course we want pictures with the characters! She didn't say it in a mean way it was just kind of out of place, I know we're two adults (kind of) but c'mon.

Here are a few of the character pics!

Here is my plate, I actually really liked the prime rib which I don't normally like.

IMG_4572.jpg

Dessert time!

IMG_4584.jpg

We were here for a good amount of time, waited for each character and went up to the buffet a few times. Even though we were headed to DHS there was just one place I had to see!

IMG_4588.jpg

That's right the gift shop! The new gift shop! David was happy too though because he traded a pin and was slowly building up his pirates collection. I really like the way it was handled here. They had a tack board of pins and if you saw one you liked, you took the pin off the tack board and replaced it with one of yours! It made the whole process less intimidating.

I couldn't decide between the two of these, so I finally picked later on and than do you think it was easy to find?? Which one do you think I picked?? And did I eventually get to find it?

IMG_4590.jpg

IMG_4593.jpg

Another gift shop conquered, it was time to head to DHS, and an attempt at TSM. Actually, we only went here this night to see Fantasmic, but decided to see the later showing and walk around a bit.

So we arrived and it started raining!! C'mon, wheres the best place to duck and cover? you know it! Gift shop!

IMG_4594.jpg

IMG_4595.jpg

IMG_4596.jpg

The rain turned to a drizzle so we decided to walk to Pixar Studios, I was excited just to see the area and than maybe even ride TSM!

IMG_4597.jpg

IMG_4600.jpg

Well TSM FP were obviously out, and the line was 80 minutes, already on the outside of the building. Not my idea of a fun night at DHS so we moved on.

IMG_4601.jpg

IMG_4598.jpg

David has never walked through One Man's Dream, and I have never seen the movie, so we did that. It was really nice, I enjoyed it

IMG_4603.jpg

IMG_4609.jpg

I love the animation academy but David doesn't. I asked him to do it and he said okay. So we went in there and drew. We drew Minnie Mouse. And as I am trying to draw, I hear what sounds like the 5 stages of grief going on to my left. It starts out as anger. "I can't do this! This is ridiculous" than it turns into depression and giving up. "Oh forget this!" "Nicole, I am just not an artist!" than finally it turns into acceptance "Well if I can't draw, I can at least turn Minnie Mouse in to the joker" Oh, brother.

IMG_4612.jpg

I guess no going again then. But we did walk around and find David's pall, Wall-E! David had some trash for him, and I just treated him like a good old friend!

IMG_4613.jpg

IMG_4616.jpg

On to the great movie ride!

With the time to Fantasmic approaching, we decide to wait in line at TSM, We had about 30-40 minutes to spare but that was cutting it close. We didn't make it far in the line, we had to give up, but it gave us a chance to see the queue and be in the air conditioning so it wasn't a total loss. Next up we took a few photopass pictures, and than we moved on to Fantasmic!

image172.jpg

I love Fantasmic it is my favorite night time show! I was so excited! We were about an hour early so we waited in the line assuming they weren't letting people in yet. So we tried to occupy ourselves in the pitch black using the iPhone. It was crowded, it was humid, and it was hot, and it was taking way too long. Luckily after about 30 minutes we started moving! Huzzah! But we would soon find out that Fantasmic was indeed....broken and therefore closed for the night! Noooooo!! Only one thing could cheer me up, and that was a turkey leg! I wasn't even that hungry I just really wanted one :rotfl: When I eat a turkey leg, I pretty much spend $5 on a few bites, its kind of a shame. I like the way they taste but I can't eat more!

On to the buses we go...look at all the sad people :(

DSC02669.jpg

I wasn't sad though, I had packing to do! I was headed to the AKL tomorrow!!

Great update!! Your fountain at Coronado is so pretty!! It's so nice when you get a room like that at Disney and you can feel like the courtyard is your very own! LOVE Chef Mickey's and the turkey leg (though totally agree they're too huge!)....you are making me sooo hungry! :rolleyes1

Great update Nicole!! We did Chef Mickey's a few years ago. Love that place. The food is ok, but the character interaction is really a lot of fun. Hope you got to see Fantasmic later in your trip!

Cathy

It's nice to see that David liked his hat.

Or is he just staging that to be nice to MeMom? ;)

Brooklynn will like seeing Wall-E. She's never seen the movie, but she knows who he is from the Disney Channel, which she might occasionally be exposed to. Hopefully, they can go by and see him in October.

I do the same thing with turkey legs. It is either share or waste. We usually share. They're so good and so big! I could be happy walking through the streets of Hollywood Studios gnawing on a turkey leg waiting for Fantasmic tonight. I really could.

I'm loving your trip report! If you ever need an extra person for a trip, I love thrill rides and don't cause much trouble! :goodvibes

Oh, what a lovely evening at Disney World! :goodvibes

My favorite part of Chef Mickey's were those Mickey oreo bonbon things. So good! What a weird thing for the woman to ask you about posing with the characters -- apparently she is not a DISer! :rotfl:

Love the gift shop pics, but a bummer about Fantasmic!

Can't wait for AKL!

This picture freaks me out! That guys head is positioned so perfectly in between the shelf and the top of the picture that it looks like some random head sitting on the shelf   Anyway, great set of updates! CSR's gorgeous; I love the fountain and pool area. That slide looked like so much fun, thanks for including the video! Sorry if this was asked before but do you have a waterproof case for your camera? I was thinking of getting one but wasn't sure which one to get.

Animal Kingdom, Chef Mickey's and MGM... now I'd call that a good day! I'm glad you guys had fun. And both pins are so cute, I wonder which one you chose... I'd probably go with the second one but I like them both!

Hi!!! I'm back and caught up with your TR now!

So far so good minus the knee injury!

I am loving David's comments thrown in.

I'm so glad you liked CSR I really think its a beautiful resort!

can't wait to hear more!

Hope you are ok down there with he carpy weather!!!

great update and pics.

too bad about Fantasmic.
