I KNOW! He's not even the TEENSIEST bit funny!! And the Steve Carell thing...I don't get that either. He just opens his mouth and I'm gone. LOL

And I agree that funny is sexy...very very sexy but seeing as Russell Brand isn't the least bit funny.......well.......he's just a dirty useless piece of doo-doo. LOL

And to add to OP's question -- how did he get Katy Perry? She must see "it" because I sure don't. And as kooky as she can be, I think she's a very pretty girl. I honestly think it might be a British humor thing. I love Hugh Laurie, and I've seen very little of his earlier work, but what I have seen I just don't find all the humorous.

Ooh, I love him!! He is funny with his cheeky British schoolboy personna. I read his book, "My Booky Wook" and it is really good. I also think he's sexy in that rock star, grungy but hot way.

Comedy is like music in that there is no right or wrong standards by which to measure it. If I think someone is funny, then he's funny. If you think someone is funny, then he's funny.

You may not find him funny, but a number of people do, so therefore he IS.

Furthermore....and I'm not sure I'm recalling this correctly....isn't he British? British humor is different. Very different.

I totally 'get it' about him. He's smart, funny, genuine and subversively counter culture. I did read his book and I can't decide if he's actually a sociopath or just broken, but it was certainly an interesting look into the mind of someone unencumbered by social contracts. The book was savage but I still like him, maybe wouldn't have him to dinner or anything because he's a bit of a mess but he sure is interesting to me. The Brits are very different, their humor is either very cerebral or very bawdy & lewd, no in between. I dig it.

DH and I just watched one of his comedy specials that we rented from Netflix. We both thought he was very witty and would definitely watch him again. And, yes super sexy.

My like or dislike of him has nothing to do with British humor....or about him being different. I just see and hear a really gross person, far beyond any grossness I've encountered over the years.

As far as drugs are concerned I think he's done it all and in mass quantities. HUGE amounts. (not that I'm opposed to that mind you. LOL)

I'm quite ok with rude humor, British humor and all kinds of really bad but hysterical humor but over the years there have been several supposedly funny people that I just don't get. Not even a little bit.

Just seen pictures of him in People and I don't get it either! I have no clue about him nor do I want to know.
