I am not a big fan, but I tried this tonight and it was GREAT.

2 pounds of cauliflower heads ( no stems )
Olive oil.... enough to VERY LIGHTLY coat the cauliflower.
salt and papper to your liking.

Roast in a pan in the oven at 425 degress until it gets pretty dark - nice and brown. You will need to stir a few times during cooking, which should take 45 - 55 minutes.

It will no longer really tast like cauliflower.

So tasty!

We make cauliflower like this, only we chop it up and add it to pasta. It's very filling and tasty too! :thumbsup2

That sound good but I love cauliflower anyway. Could you sprinkle with grated parmesian cheese after it bakes? Would that improve or not?

Abslutely.... the recipe I have shows it being eaten from a popcorn bag, so why not?

That's one of my faves! A HUGE hit around thanksgiving, and anytime, really. it looks nice too, because the cauliflower browns and crisps on the edges....now I'm salivating!

I throw in a separated head of garlic (all the cloves-not peeled) and roast them alongside. That way it adds to the aroma/flavor and you can spread the roasted garlic on crusty bread or throw it into a sauce or something.

And Parm sprinkled on top is great, although these really hold their own quite well.

OP-thanks! I think I'm gonna run to Stop and Shop after work tonight and pick some up for dinner. Mmmm

Birdseye has a steam fresh version "Garlic Cauliflower" that is really great. Finally got my daughter to eat cauliflower for the first time.

I read this earlier tonite and had some cauliflower that HAD to get used......so I'm just finishing making a batch.

oh.
my.
god.

It's WONDERFUL! Why have I never heard of this before? I baked it on a bit higher heat and kept tasting little pieces.......turns out I like it quite dark. It's also delicious when it's cooled!! THANKYOU so much for a new treat.....my family will love it.

p.s. Pretty much will be a summer food though as you have to air the house out after roasting it. Dang this stuff STANKS!!! :lmao:

This recipe also works well for brussel sprouts :)

I make broccoli like this. So good. I'll have to try the cauliflower.

I've never heard of this but all the great reviews means I will be stopping by the store for a little cauliflower today.

Ok, so, I HATE cauliflower! I can't even stand the smell of it........

so if I cook it this way and it no longer tastes like cauliflower, then
what DOES it taste like?

Would this work with frozen cauliflower, or does it need to be fresh?

I really don't know, but for sure I would imagine yes, as long as you let it fully defrost first. I might be concerned about the moisture cintent.

OK, it does smell like cauliflower when cooking.... big time!

As far as taste? Well, it is hard to describe. Nice and sweet, with a little "woody"? taste? Kinda crunchy on the outside and soft in the middle.

mmm..sounds good.

We do this with carrots.

Get the bag of baby carrots, throw on a baking pan. Drizzle olive oil on top, salt and pepper. Roast in a 400' oven for about 30 minutes. SOOOOO Tasty...
