A Simple Guide to Making an Autograph Book

Can someone point me in the right direction? I am working on making my first set of autograph books and I am looking for personalized Christmas covers, but I haven't found anything yet? Where would I find some of these?

I just want to say Thank You MusicMouse for all the great advice, help, and support you give to everyone! I finally just got through reading the entire thread (it took a few days):woohoo:! I wish there was as detailed character list for Disneyland but I am also glad it is much easier to have an idea of whose there and where they'll be. I have never been to WDW but I try to go to DL at least twice a year, if I'm lucky! Thanks Again!:thumbsup2

I need help with printing....I can not get these to print clear. I have had a little trouble with a few of them. What am I doing wrong?

First, double check and make sure that you copied the full-sized design and not the thumbnail version. Also, some of Natalie's designs are not sized exactly to 4x6. If you are putting them in an MS Word document to print, they are simple to resize. Right-click the image, choose "size" and adjust the width and height. :goodvibes

Thank you so much! This started out as a small thread to help out folks like me who wanted to make an autograph book and didn't know where to start, and it just exploded! :rotfl2: If you look in the Disneyland forum, you can usually get a good sense of which characters are appearing at any given time. You should try putting up a new thread and asking folks there who they have seen lately - it should give you a good list to start with! :goodvibes

I too want to Thank MusicMouse and all the wonderful people on this thread with there advise and suggestions!! :cool1::wizard::thumbsup2

I read this for days and days before the summer trip. I made a book with some of the graphics posted here, but mostly used previous trip photos of my daughter with the given character. It made for awesome interactions!!! I received many compliments from CMs and even other guests. :goodvibes Best of all, my daughter loved seeing photos of her with the characters. So it served two purposes: entertaining my daughter during slow periods and then getting her excited for character autographs.

At 14 months old, my daughter pleasantly surprised my wife and I by getting super excited for character autographs! At the Plaza Inn breakfast (DLR), she was given a greeting card for autographs. We thought, that's nice but she's too young to care. She'd excitedly call to them. She'd say "phleez" (Please), blow them kisses, hug them and wave.

Now that she can walk, she'll take the photo autograph book, pen to the characters. So cute!

I'll try soon to post pictures of the finished product. I need to get started on the book for October since we're going for a short trip over Halloween weekend.

So, again, thanks to everyone on this thread for giving me the idea for making an autograph book!!!

Thanks so much, I got it to work.

Help, I am trying to print out some autograph pages using word, but it is not working. I have copied, pasted and re-sized to 4 x 6, but when they print out they are all blury and grainy looking. What am I doing wrong??

Did you download (for example, right-click Save As..) them? Or just copy them from the browser window? You should download the picture files to your computer. Make sure it's the full-size file. I'm assuming since your saying "re-sized 4 x 6" you mean you're making it larger?

Thank you! I was just copying them, not downloading. I just got the first couple printed off!!! Thanks again :goodvibes

Anytime!! :thumbsup2 Glad it was an easy, quick fix. Have fun making the autograph book.

I searched all the usual places, but I didn't see any either. If you would tell me which places you are dining with the characters at DL, I will design some cards for you. :goodvibes

Hi again! Sorry it has taken me a while to respond to your genorous offer! I have been out of action and spending time in the hospital. Am home now and have loads of time on my hands while I recover!!!:thumbsup2
Ok, the meals we will be doing are as follows:-

Chip 'n Dale Critter Breakfast at Storytellers Cafe
Minnie & Friends - Breakfast In The Park - Plaza Inn
Surf's Up! Breakfast with Mickey and Friends at Disney's PCH Grill

Anything you could come up with for me would soooooo appreciated!:worship: I am going to make journals and also autograph books for my DD and I, so to have the pages designed especially for the occasion will be a real treat!

Thanks again for offering to do this for me and I will be sureto post pics when the books are complete!:yay:
Cheers

Can anyone offer some help? I have a Mac with Word 2008 on it.

I'm trying to use Natalie's 2008 set. (the basic limited color pages) I can insert 2 (separately) as pictures and get both on the page. I can adjust one image, but right clicking, then clicking "format picture". I can adjust the size by typing in 4" x 6". Sometimes it accepts this, other times it changes it to 3.99 x 6.02. Then when I try to change the other one it won't let me change it. The height and width seem connected and every change for one makes the other change to the same number.

What in the world am I doing wrong? Does anyone know what size these cards come out as if I don't mess with them? I made an altered notebook to put them in, so I can go as big as 5x7. I'm watching my ink, so I am trying not to waste pages if I can avoid it. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated!

The height/width ratio for pictures is set to lock by default in MS Word. There should be a box next to the "lock aspect ratio" that you can un-check and change things to the way you want them. In all honesty, you will not notice the difference between 4x6 and 3.99x6.02. :goodvibes

MM,

thanks SOOOOO much for Kiersten's cover!! She is going to love it! I was wondering if you finished the MVMCP cover yet and I just missed it? If not, no worries, just gonna keep checking back lol can't wait!!
