A Simple Guide to Making an Autograph Book

How long does it take to ship? We leave in 2 1/2 weeks. Will I have time?

Probably not. Artscow is notoriously slow (they are located in Hong Kong, so the books have a long way to come). I usually tell people to expect them in three weeks, although some folks here have had shorter wait times. You could try it, but be sure to order in the next day or two and have a "plan B" just in case. :goodvibes

FYI http://www.kodakgallery.com has their 5x7 photo books free and 1.99 for shipping. That's for 14 pages.

I ended making my epcot passports with them. The shipped in 24 hours. I did go over the page limit and for 3 books I paid $13.00 total.

Artscow has a new deal out. Get 3 FREE 5x7 photobooks and 3 FREE 7x9 photobooks using the coupon code JUL6BKS (you still have to pay shipping). The offer ends July 20th, and once you put in the code you have 30 days to order your book. :goodvibes

I tried this and it says I have to validate this code what am I doing wrong please help books designed and ready!

This is not a code that you use at checkout. Log into your artcow account and click on the "Credit and Discount" cateogry (in the left-hand margin). It will show you all of your current available discounts and credits. There is a box at the top that you put your code into, then press the "validate" button. When you check out, the code should be automatically credited to your order. :goodvibes

I just ordered 3 snapbooks from Shutterfly. I had free shipping and wanted to make sure I get them with time to spare. I'll try to post a link (they're identical except the cover which is personalized). They are a little more expensive than if we bought the generic autograph books from Disney but they're also nice!

ETA: I can't share a snapbook. Sorry!

When you get them, take a pic or two and post them if you can. We would all love to see what you made!! :goodvibes

I will! I think they were shipped already so hopefully arriving soon.
I just want to THANK YOU for teaching me how to do this. I have good intentions but the arts and crafts gene is totally missing! It feels good to be able to make something like this for my kids without it taking enormous amounts of time or any talent. I have the desire to create homemade stuff but (usually) I don't have the ability. This was a pretty easy-to-do project and I know it'll be great!!!

September: Duffy the Disney Bear will be making a return visit to Epcot for at least the Fall season.

October: Rapunzel, Flynn, and Mother Gothel from the upcoming Disney Movie "Tangled" will begin apearing in the Magic Kingdom in October.

If you are headed to WDW in the Fall, be sure to include these characters in your books! :goodvibes

We just got back from our WDW and I have to say the autograph book I made for my daughter was a big hit with the characters! Thanks so much for the help with finding certain characters!

You are very welcome! I hope that you had a fabulous trip!! :goodvibes

I posted this in an individual thread, but I wanted to put it in here, too, for all of my autograph book makers. Here is the autograph book I designed and am having printed through Artscow. The book is an 8x8, 39 pages, with cards for 78 individual characters and two pages for misc. autographs. Here is the link: http://www.artscow.com/share/Autographs-tse3vtq9pep3 .

I made these pages using the free trial download of Photoshop Elements 8 (I've been looking into getting the program to start learning digital scrapbooking). I have been experimenting with digital scrapbooking for about 3 weeks, and this is what I created. If I can do it, so can you - so get inspired!!

I would like to thank Natalie, Kellybell, Lisa Campbell Designs, Scrappy Dappy Doo, MJ-AJ Designs, M2 Digital Designs, Mouse House Digi Scrapping, Britt-ish Designs, ElizaBlake, Mousescrappers, and everyone else I'm not remembering right now for their contributions. You folks do amazing work and make it easier for us beginners to get started! :goodvibes

We are taking our first trip to Disney on 3/8/10 (only a few days left) and I just received the autograph book that I made in the mail today.

I purchased it through Artscow.com I think the price was decent and it is well made BUT I would mention that you need to give yourself at least two months lead time. Artscow is in Hong Kong and it takes a long time.

I thought I would share some pictures from my book and if for some reason someone wants me to forward a link to the full book I can do so. I would need to send it to your email though an artscow link ...just send me your email address through a private message and I will forward it over to you.

The book we received is 60 pages and is 5X7 I left some pages with backgrounds only for me to insert some pictures of my daughter with the characters. I plan to do that with some photo corners.

BTW - Tried to have the pics show here and was having no luck. Links are here instead.

I LOVE your book!! Thanks for the pictures
I am just now planning our first trip to WDW!!

When I was looking through all your photobucket pics, I saw the adorable Ariel necklace that looked like it had all your daughter's emergency info...what a clever idea!!

Do you mind sharing where you ordered it from?
My daughter would love one of these and it serves as a great safety tool as well.

I'm not sure where dibbadiane got hers, but you can get ID tags almost everywhere in the Parks. They have ID tag machines tucked into the shops where you put in your info (as much or as little as you want) and then the machine engraves it for you on the spot. We got one for our DS3 and DS6 (Tatoine Traders in HS) with their name and my cell phone number (WDW Star Wars logo on the back), and explained how they should show it to a cast member if they got separated from us. It was worth the $10 for the piece of mind! You can also order them ahead of the trip at Artscow, and they will put any image on it that you wish to provide. :goodvibes

There aren't any designs for these characters yet that I know of. I will need to put a request thread out for these characters on the main DISign board. Hang on, and I will put up a new thread and get back to you! :goodvibes
