A Simple Guide to Making an Autograph Book

Just got back. My own printed version of the autograph books turned out great! Thanks for everyone's support and encouragement as I made them last minute. I had Kinkos spiral bound them and put a nonglossy durable plastic protective cover on the front and back. My girls loooooved them. They were part of my own version of Mickey's Grand Welcome. The characters raved about them repeatedly and my oldest kept telling all of them that Mickey was so sweet to bring them to them. :)

I still did not receive the cash refund by the time we got back from our trip, so I checked w/ our credit card company. We weren't charged. I assumed since Artscow had told me they would refund me by cash, that they had already charged me. Since I had received an email stating my order had already shipped, maybe the lady thought I had already been charged. Still, I checked w/ my credit card company to ensure everything was ok. I didn't find it on my statement, and they didn't find it either so I guess that's why they didn't send the cash. The credit card company did say that what Artscow said about only sending a cash refund was bogus, though. If they can charge by credit, they can refund by credit. All is well, though. I didn't get charged so everything turned out fine. It was just a long, exhausting hassle dealing w/ them. I've ordered other products from them that I was very pleased w/ and am sure I would like to order other things, so I'm trying to get over my nervousness of dealing w/ them again.

Thanks for checking in on me! For all who are making autograph books, you will be so pleased. It is well worth it, and your kids will love it. There were tons of characters out this past week.

Welcome home! I'm so glad that your kids got such great responses from the characters about their books! :goodvibes

Can anyone point me to a pic of Tinkerbell's Terance... I'm seeing an end to this book but Terence is missing! LOL It can be a cartoon pic of him or someone's page that has a pic of him that I can cut out of there!

Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Natalie has an autograph page for Terrance. We were there last week and he was one of the fairies in the meet-n-greet.

Hmm I just looked through her stuff, ugh! Must have went to fast, back to look again LOL :rotfl2:Thank you so much

Here is my book. It was a trial run really for the boys books. The cover was by Milliepie and the pages from Donatalie. I big thank you to both of them.

I had it printed through Snapfish UK and although it is on glossy photo paper, my retractable sharpie works fine.

Here are the boys books. I used a different company and got them flipbooks.

What company did you use for the final books?

I got started on my pages last week for our first trip. I was just going to try using ordering pictures. I ordered some from CVS, Walgreens, and I think snapfish. I saved all my pictures then uploaded to the websites and when I got all of them the bottoms are all chopped off. Is there an better way to do this? Did do something wrong? I ordered all 4X6s.

Some of the designs are not sized exactly to 4x6. Several are slightly larger, and need to be resized before you upload them to a digital photo site. If you do this, they should come out just fine! :goodvibes

How do you resize them? I know how to get the option to do this, but mine only shows resizing in pixels, not in measurements. Anyone know what it should be for a 6x4?

I resized mine in MS Word because I printed them myself. Anyone want to jump in here? You might want to post this questions as a new thread, 2Tiggies. I'm sure one of the designers will know! :goodvibes

Hmm, I want to print mine as photos. Actually I have already done most of them, but there were a few that were cropped so I ordered again and selected for them to print the actual picture. Well guess what? The photos came in all different shapes and sizes. No kidding! Some were actually barely half the size of a 6x4. Clearly the online system is having a problem understanding my instructions! :rotfl:

I believe you can resize the photo and crop it yourself using Microsoft Picture Viewer tools, there is also the Paint.net program that works just like Adobe but is free :)

I had to alter a bunch of mine before printing, HTH.
