A Simple Guide to Making an Autograph Book

Hey these are really neat! It's always great to see autograph books are are nicer and now sold in the park, characters I know a few of my good friends like Pluto and Eeyore pay more attention to them and will do the whole autograph more then just the name (some have drawing or things that go with the name that are optional)

Just so you know I didn't read all of the pages but if it hasn't been said before I see that in one of the like the tweedle's each have there own page but they only sign on one page because there autographs locked together something to keep in mind when you are making the pages :)

We just booked our trip for Nov. 28th and staying for 10 days :cool1::worship:. We cannot wait, especially our 4 y/o DD, our 2 y/o DD doesn't understand it just yet, but we are so excited. Had a PIN, when I called, but was for ROOM ONLY code. I'll be looking for another PIN, hopefully "DINING". 8 months from today, we'll be enjoying a very Magical 10 Day MYW. Wanted to thank MusicMouse for all the help and photos to make our own Autograph Books. Thank You MusicMouse, you have a wonderful selection and thanks for all the tips and ideas. Excellent :thumbsup2 Job.

That's good to know PennyLou, I will do my best with our Autograph Books to make sure our 2 DD's get all the autographs they can. Are you now a CM and if so, which character are you? Hey you might know the answer to this question, does Disney replace each character all the time, everytime we've gone, it's always someone different. Thank You once again for all your info on the Autographs and have a Magical Day.:wizard: :thumbsup2

Great tip! Thanks PennyLou! :goodvibes

Thanks, THEVACATIONFAMILY, that is really sweet of you! Just as a word of caution: we took our DS6 and DS2 at the beginning of February and I made autograph books for each of them, but our DS2 was just too little to get excited about the autograph part. He just wanted to hug and talk to the characters. Our DS6 had a blast getting everyone's autograph. Have you considered making one book with both of your daughters' names on it? :goodvibes

Pirate Goofy is now appearing (starting April 11th) near the Quartermaster's desk in the Pirate's League. If you are planning to do the pirate thing in the MK, include him in your autograph book! :goodvibes

That's awesome!! Do you know if anyone can visit with him, or only those that are buying a pirate league package??

Well, after much thought and deliberation, I have decided to make my own autograph book rather than going through Artscow or someother site. Our printer was really old so it wasn't as efficient and cost friendly for ink as newer versions. To offset some of the ink cost so my husband wouldn't have a heart attack over all my printing, we got a new printer. Yea! This printer will print front and back w/out someone having to manually flip the pages. (At least that's what my husband thinks it will do---just hooked it up tonight; we'll see.) Has anyone tried to print the autograph book at home front and back? On cardstock it shouldn't bleed through to the other side. I want to use cardstock for the durability, but it's thicker so I'd like to figure out how to do it front and back to decrease bulk. Has anyone figured out how to do this? Thanks!

I did Natlie's PassPort front to back. The hardest part was lining them up so when I cut out one the other lined up. However you shouldn't have that problem. I had no problem with bleeding.

I also did it with one of the Passport (actually I combined 2 of Natalie's passporters) and had no problem. With one I used my old HP 720 and with the other I used my new PhotoSmart C6380 (it drinks ink :lmao:). My HP is soooo much better with ink, but the PhotoSmart colors are more vibrant. :goodvibes

My wife and I just purchased a CANON IP2600, and I am trying to figure out how to print on both sides, well I should say I am reading up on it, but I think we'll go to Walmart or Kinko to try to print ours out and bind them so we'll have to make 3 books. For our 2 DD's and 1 for ourselves. Chaoscent, enjoyed your Photobucket very much, if it wasn't for you and MusicMouse, we would not have had the nice photos we have now. Great Job. Thanks :dance3::thumbsup2.

I"m not sure. Has anyone done the Pirate League recently? :goodvibes

Edited to add: Hang on a bit, and I'll ask over on the Theme Parks and Attractions Board.

I know that it can be done on cardstock (no bleeding through), and it is a good idea for cutting down on the bulkiness of an autograph book. Since all printers are different, you will probably have to use the trial and error method a couple of times to get everything lined up just right. Be sure that you set up your cards so that the fronts and backs stay in alphabetical order to help you find the characters in a hurry. :goodvibes

I checked with the Themes and Attractions board, and since the Quartermaster's desk is just outside the Pirate League and not actually IN the Pirate League, anyone should be able to go get a picture and an autograph with him. Now we just have to practice saying "Aargh"! ;) :goodvibes

That is so kind of you to say. :goodvibes Thanks so very much. :yay:Penny:hippie:

Thanks to Penny and MusicMouse for your replies about printing the autograph books front & back. I know it will end up being trial and error. Just hope it's not too much of the latter (error) so that I don't eat all of my ink just in trials. I really like the idea of combining though to decrease bulk. Since I know others have tried and it's worked, we'll give it a whirl.
I'm also planning on using the front/back method for a passport. Penny, you're a pro, so if it was tricky for you to line it up (or at least seeing that was the hardest part), I can only imagine the frustration I will encounter on that project. There's so much to take into account: lining margins up, making sure images flip correctly from one side to next, etc. I may be in over my head. :)

DisneyBliss2, if you find too hard like I did, well somewhat hard and too complicated, what I did was save all the pictures to a file, downloaded them onto a disc for my digital camera and now I will just take it to Walmart or Kinkos, which they both can print up your pictures and attached the spiral and make it an autograph book, Walmart is way cheaper though and I am making 3 autograph books, with about 230 photos, from MusicMouse and Chaos1Cent. But if you want to the crafting yourself, then I applaud you :cheer2:, the way everyone else did it. Guess I'm not too computer literate :confused3and I guess I am cheap too, just can't see wasting the ink for 230 photos. Enjoy and have a Magical Day. :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

Ok so has anyone made a pirate goofy autograph card yet?

Hey Mammaz, I will search the internet for Pirate Goofy, if I find some, I will let you know. A good place to maybe find them is on Photobucket, I just found one, if you go to Photobucket.com and type up Pirate Goofy and click on most viewed, you'll probably find the one you're looking for. Hope you find the one you like, if you find a different one or a better one, please let me know, please. Have a Magical Day. :thumbsup2:surfweb: :thumbsup2

I have a version of the passport file that is already formatted in MS Word. PM me if you would like a copy. :goodvibes

Sorry, but there is no shortcut for this. Think of it as a labor of love...

I totally agree, and it is sooo worth it. I made an autograph book last year for my daughter who was 4 years old and she was thrilled. As we came upon the characters, she would shout, "I need my autograph book"

The charaters also admired the unique book. It took me a while to complete. I would work on it a little bit at a time in the evenings after work. We are going again in the fall, and have already bought the supplies and I will start working on it during rainy days.
