A Simple Guide to Making an Autograph Book

I am so excited to find this thread and all these amazing autograph book ideas!

May I make a request?

I love, love, love the cover in the first post (Paige)on this page. May I get that, with Happy 3rd Birthday, Cody?

Is that too long?

I'm so excited to make this for my son. We're going in January for his 1st trip and 3rd birthday.

Thank you, thank you!

Here you go :goodvibes:

WOW amazing work everyone has here! I read through for hours....and yes my house still needs to be cleaned but what can I say. I had to finally skip around and was wondering if anyone had Phinneas and Ferb in the 4 x 6 size?
Thanks, Sarah

House cleaning is overrated! :rotfl2: I have autograph cards for both Phineas and Ferb in my photobucket (the link is in my signature). I also have a cover with P & F that looks like this:

If you would like to have something personalized, let me know. :goodvibes

Oh my goodness. It's perfect. I'm a little teary eyed even. :)

Thank you so very much!

I just want to thank all the DISigners for all the great images!! And to those that posted their final products. It really helped me visualize what I was going to create. I just finished up my autograph book for our upcoming trip. I created the book on Shutterfly. I used photos of my kids with the characters from our last trip and incorporated the autograph cards. I'm going to surprise my kids with the book the day we leave.
Here is the link in case anyone would like to check it out.
Thanks everyone for all your help!!!

Hi
I hope someone will be able to help me.

I want to print 4 x 6 autograph pages,
I keep trying the steps here and i can only get 5 X 7

Here's what I've been doing
1. Go the photobucket where autograpg page that i want is. left click on smaller image, when I see bigger image I right click and copy.
2, Go to WORD PAD and click paste
3. I'm printing on 8 x 11 card stock (use letter)

I don't need to have space to bond cards and I will be using them letter to scrapbook.

Can anyone please HELP me. I not very good with computer things so if possible please explain by steps

You should be able to resize them to 4x6, and put two of them on a page. I don't know about Word Pad, but in MS Word you can right click on your image, and then choose the "size" option and you will see boxes at the top for "height", "width", and "rotation". Adjust the height and width to your desired size (4"x6"). Do you have MS Word? :goodvibes

I am attempting to make my children autograph books using Shutterfly. I really liked the images posted by DoNatalie Volume 2. The problem I am running into is that when I put these images into my Shutterfly album the edges are getting cut off. I am trying to make either a 5X7 or a 7X9 book on Shutterfly.

Thanks so much for you help! I feel lost!

Michelle

Dear MusicMouse, or anyone .....can I take you up on your offer to walk me through resizing photos. My computer is a MAC, and I put the photos into the photo program with the Mac. I just don't see where to resize them. If you have any info, that would be great! Usually I am not so technically challenged, but I am feeling this way at the moment.

Thanks!
Michelle

Has anyone posted pictures of a book made by pasting in the autograph cards printed as photos? I am debating if we should print them how much it's going to cost in ink vs paying to have them printed as matte photos. I was thinking of having the book spiral bound on the left. Then when it's open the autograph photo would get glued on the right and then we can print out pictures of the kids with the character and paste that on the left. I only have 3.5 weeks and I need to make 5. My husband or bil can get the paper and bind it at work so I don't need to really facter in the cost of the book. Of course they look so nice printed on the paper but 5 books would probably be a lot of ink. Suggestions?

Hi everyone,

I have to say how much I love this thread :)

I am attempting to make 2 books by 12/9, nothing like waiting until the last min right?

I was using Snapfish and making a 5x7 book, but it keeps telling my the resolution is too low, but the disigns are sometimes cut off.

What am I doing wrong?

I'm really sorry Michelle, but I don't know anything about the photo programs for a MAC. Put out a new request thread on the main board. I know that there are a few DISigners out there who know their way around a MAC and they should be able to help you. :goodvibes

If you are worried about ink, I would absolutely print them as photos. They can be bound the same way as printed cards, and several folks here have done this. It is really no diferent than the flip books that you get from places like Snapfish. I would definitely put a plastic cover on the outside, though, to keep them from being damaged. Your alternative would be to simply slip them into a small photo album. If you do that, you won't have holes in your pictures from the binding and can use them later for scrapbooking. HTH! :goodvibes

I'm not sure why, but not all of the DISigner's images are exactly in the 4x6/5x7 ratio. If you put them in a program for resizing you will see that some of them are more like 4.2x6.2. In order to keep from losing the edges, you will need to resize them to 4x6 on your computer and then re-upload them to Snapfish. You can do this in any photo-editing software (like photoshop). If you have MS office, the software for Paint should be on your computer, and that works as well. (I printed them myself, and had to resize them in MS Word.) I would worry less about the resolution, since you are printing animated images rather than photographs (which need a higher resoltuion for all of the details). They should come out just fine. :goodvibes

Debating & trying to decide. I haven't ordered my autograph book yet & now not sure which to do.
I got an email yesterday about flipbooks on Snapfish. So, now I'm trying to decide if I should do a 4x6 flipbook with one character on each page or stick to my 8x11 with a couple characters per page.
Anyone opinions either way? Which would you get?

Last trip I did each character on a separate page just under 5x7. the book was so thick and kinda heavy to carry around (I had two one for each kid) and two character meal books.

For this trip I decided to make a 8x11 photobook on shutterfly. I put up to 4 characters on a page and I included some pics from our last trip. It will be alot less to carry around. And lots of places for characters that aren't in the book to sign.

Here is what I did. http://share.shutterfly.com/share/r...isney+Autograph+Book&pid=SFLY&cid=SHARE3PSJXX

That's awesome! Great book! I want to do something like that for our next trip when I'll have pictures of my youngest to use & work with after this trip! :thumbsup2
I didn't eventhink about it being heavy, I did the 4x6 with 45 pages. I worked hard on the 8x11, I think I may stick with that. I've got a 50% off code as well, may as well go big!

I would go with the bigger book. It will be less pages and lighter to carry around. :goodvibes

That's true, I just got a stack of 45 pictures together, a lot thicker than I thought, lol.
Ok, my last question before I pull the trigger & order...... I have it made with 4 characters per page. Is that too many? Should I cut some to 2 per page? Or will it be ok & I'm just worrying over silly stuff now? LOL.
Got our DME tags & vouchers today so I really got excited & realized, I NEED to order my book..like today, lol. :lmao:
