A Simple Guide to Making an Autograph Book

Hi MusicMouse

Greetings from across the pond. I really love your designs. We would like make our 2 DD's autograph books using your multi-character cover with the white background. Can you please make them for:

Olivia's Autograph Book 2011
Francesca's Autograph Book 2011 both in red, please?

Thank you

Shelley in Kent, UK

This one is actually Natalie's cover, but she isn't doing much DISigning right now so I'm personalizing it for her. She does fantastic work, doesn't she? :goodvibes

Hi! I love the new cover DISigns! Could I please get the blue one with "The Norris Family's Autographs 2011" (if it will fit)? Thanks so much! Love your work!

It fit just fine - here you go! :goodvibes

Wow - your trip is right around the corner! Have a great time! Here you go :goodvibes:

Yes, you can upload these to make a photobook. You can use this image or any other for the back cover. I used a photo of the castle with fireworks going off on my last one. There are a ton of great photos here http://www.wdwmemories.com/index.html. Here are your covers :goodvibes:

I just realized that i wanted to show Nolan's autograph book 2011! if it is not too much trouble would you mind making the change!!! I am so sorry i did not ask for it originally...Thank you so much MusicMouse

HEEEELLLLLLPPPPPPPP!! :scared1: Ok I am about the lose my mind over here... :sad2: I went to the files for a 8x8 autograph book, clicked them and saved to my USB drive. Then went to artscow to make a 8x8 book and the files appear huge if there and I had to zoom out to make them smaller but the leaves a lot of empty page on top and bottom. I thought the files being 8x8 would fill the page with a autograph page. I have 6 books to make and I am gonna pull my hair out doing this. Can someone help because I am about to just go buy Disney autograph photo books.
Also if I figure this out and manage to accomplish it...any suggestions on how to make some empty pages to slide photos into like the Disney autograph./ photo books? Ok my DIS friends...hope you can help me!!!:confused3

Don't Panic! If your pages are 8x8, they should fill up a whole page. Yes, you may have to zoom in or out, but there shouldn't be any white spaces. Whose designs are you using?

1) Are you sure the images that you are using are 8x8 and not 5x7, 9x7, or 10x10? The image size for the jpeg should read something like 2400x2400, or 3600x3600. 2) Make sure that the book you are making is 8x8 and not another size. 3) Did you upload the images into an Artscow file first? 4) Are you using the zoom in/ zoom out feature - it should maintain the square ratio automatically.

You can't add sleeves for photos to these becasue they come as actual bound books. You can buy photo corners to hold photographs onto a page in the scrapbook section of any craft store, but I dont know how well they hold. Any scrapbookers here that can help? :goodvibes

I used goofytroops under the 8x8 autographs on post #1. I clicked like u said and then saved as pic. I loaded them into artscow and when I zoomed out to see the graphic on the page it leaves white at top and bottom of page. The dimensions under properties says 800x533. I fee so computer stupid right now. when I took them to staples they said they weren't 8x8, but much bigger. Oh boy! I am trying to make a journal for the kids too and well you can guess how that's going. Staples employess said they couldn't doubleside my journal pages and make sure pages lined up.....don't they major in printing...LOL

Ok, I'm not sure what you did when you saved them originally, but when you enlarge them to full size, right-click, and "save picture as", they should come out with the dimensions of 1024x1024. This should format easily for Artscow. Try re-saving a couple of images and see if that is what you get. It sounds like something went terribly wrong when you saved them the first time. The folks at Staples are right, what you have saved are not 8x8. As for journal pages, I find it's much easier to resize them myself in an MS Word document and then bring the word document to them to print front and back. Sadly, the folks at these stores often don't know how to fix things if they aren't what they are used to seeing. :confused3 I put mine in MS Word and Fedex/Kinkos had no trouble printing them. :goodvibes

MusicMouse, Thank you for all your help. I had done as you described and redid the same and the properties for goofytroops 8x8 still come out the same. Elizabthblake's are the 1024x1024. I might just figuring something else out cause I really wanted goofytroops designs as well as others and I just can't stress over it. Artscow also says low res , so maybe I just need to go a different route. Thanks again...I enjoy all you talented DIS folks.

Can someone point me in the right direction:confused3. I am looking for autograph pages without characters on them. I just want blank Disney inspired backgrounds or borders to fill the book.

I seen the First Trip to Disney picture that you provided on your thread link...I absolutely love that one...would you happen to know how I could get that so I can personalize or have it personalized?

Regarding Post #79 ---

__Sorry new to this DisBoards, still learning how to use it.....I am looking for the image that was used for the first disney image on this thread link posted (POST 79) ..... It will by MY first time along with my 2 sons so this would be perfect for us. I am handy with the computer so if I could get the image then I can personalize it myself or if I could get it personalized that would be great too..... not sure where to look from here. :yay:

That DISign is Veronica's (Taekwondo Mom). I think Penny has her contact info under the "Meet the Designers" Sticky on the main Creative DISign page. :goodvibes

Natalie has some nice generic cards here: http://s143.photobucket.com/albums/r132/donatalie/Autograph Books/Volume 2/#!cpZZ4QQtppZZ16. If you don't like those, you can look through the other DISigners' links on the first page. I'm sure you will find others, as we all tend to make generic cards for those unexpected characters that show up from time to time. :goodvibes

Welcome to the thread! :welcome: I'm glad you are enjoying all of the ideas - they are as varied as the people who make them! I wanted to start this thread to show that ANYONE can make their own cutom autograph book, and they really spark a lot of great character interaction in the parks! If you have any questions while making your books, feel free to ask here and I will gladly help you. :goodvibes

I seem to be having the opposite problem of the previous poster. I downloaded otterpop's awesome 10x10 pages and am trying to insert them into a artcow photobook. When I downloaded them, I right clicked on each page I wanted and opened it in another tab. It shows up at like 58% or so. I then clicked on each one to open it larger. Then I right clicked again and saved image as. The resolution looks fine with I look at the images on my computer screen. When I put them into my book I am getting the warning about the resolution being too low. Has anyone else had the same experience? Am I downloading them wrong? Thanks!
