What is the best sort of bag to take to Disneyland? I am going for the first time in Jan with my family and have been wondering if you can take bags on rides or if you have to stow them before you ride?

I would like to be able to carry my wallet, camera, maybe snacks for my kids etc. I don't want anything too big but I don't want to be back and forward to lockers all day either.

Any suggestions?

I LOVED my baggalini when I was there. Took it on every ride but GRR where we used the free locker rentals to keep it from getting wet.

Greetings, fellow Mermaid!

I have found that a messenger bag works perfectly for carrying all that I need whilst at the Park. The one I carry zips shut besides having a fold over flap (that has storage space inside as well!), so I don't have to worry about anything falling out on turbulent rides like Indy or Space Mountain.

A backpack also works, just be sure that it's a good strong one made to actually haul things around in...I had the strap to the one I carried on a DL trip break, and then I ended up having to stow it in a locker for the rest of the day...majorly inconvenient!

Have fun on your trip!

Loved my baggalllini messenger I bought for this last trip.

In addition to what's been already mentioned-- it has one strap that goes across your body. In the front of the strap is a small zippered pocket for your cell phone. Makes it very easy and accessible! It's right over the top of your chest, so even if you can't hear it ring in the noise of DL, you can feel it vibrate and get to it quickly. I found it easy to sling around to the front for rides.

I got it through bagsbuy.com, the previous poster's link... use discount code 'save10' to get $10 off and it should come to under $20!

HTH :)

That looks like just the thing. I am off to buy one. Shame the Aussie dollar has taken such a dive!!

I know it looks dorky, but I wear a fanny pack.

I used to bring a purse and I'd wear the strap across my body (like those baggallini things.) But by the end of the day, my shoulder/back would be killing me.

Then I switched to a backpack. But that would also hurt by the end of the day. And if it was even remotely warm out, my back would get super sweaty.

Sometimes to relieve the pain I'd wear it like this...(and one some rides, like big thunder I'd wear it like this too.....)

So I gave in and bought a fanny pack. It's big enough to fit everything I need...with no back pain. I can also leave it on for just about all of the rides. The purse and the backpack had to be taken off for everything and it was such a pain to take it on and off all the time.

I do like to have a water bottle so I put that on a strap. My husband and I take turns wearing it so there's no pain by the end of the day.

Sure, a fanny pack isn't fashionable...but it's Disneyland so I don't care.

I had purchased at Target, for my August trip 08', a messenger style bag. It has a cute (well I like it :) ) skelly motif. And it is in a black, white and pink color scheme. It worked out well for me. However, after a couple of days of carrying it all day long, the fabric pulled away from the stitching on the underside of the shoulder pad, not a big deal. However, I really was not expecting that to happen so soon, if at all. I was going to exchange it, when I came back, however I decided not to, because this was my Disney trip bag (yes I know a tad bit corny perhaps) he he. Anyway, this bag was roomy enough for my essentials, both for carrying items on the train, and bus's, and into Disneyland. For me, the latter entailed, my water bottle, left the sweater back in my room (weather was hot, who needed a sweater?), wallet, lip gloss (he he! :)) of course Kleenex, a comb, snacks, my cell phone, tickets and a few other items, such as band aids and those handy wipe type of cleaning cloths, etc.

Thank you for sharing your photos' Avalon and Gail. They are very nice pictures. Jane, you look just fine wearing the fanny pack. Me, not so much, for there would be more fanny than pack! ha ha! ;) (seriously, ugh and sigh)
