We currently have a reservation through Disney for a mod resort, made our dinner reservations, and everything. If we find an agreeable DVC resort situation, can we still keep our current plus dining plan including our current reservations or do you forfeit that by not booking your room through Disney?
thanks in advance for answering. The "chat" cast member on disneyworld.com had no idea.

You can add the dining plan to a DVC reservation. But you wouldn't be "keeping" what you have. That package would be entirely cancelled, and you would be creating a new DVC reservation with the DDP added and paid for (there is no free dining with DVC, just in case that's what you have).

Tickets can be purchased wherever you like - they are not part of DVC reservations.

Your dining reservations will not be affected at all.

The only dining reservations that might be affected if you cancel your cash reservation through Disney and choose to rent a points reservation through a DVC member would be ones that required deposits and you didn't have to give it because you had the DDP already--things like CRT, Hoop Dee Doo, etc.

If your reservations were ones that don't require any sort of payment, there will be no affect.
