My teenager wants to know what hairstyling and makeup products are best. She wants to look good in all the pics we take lol, and is worried that her hair and makeup wont hold up each day. She only wears eye shadow and lipgloss, and sometimes concealing cream and powder if she has a zit, and she hates putting her hair up and I cant convince her that it might be hot leaving her long hair down all day and that curling it would be a waste of time. Any suggestions?

MAC Eyeshadow is my favorite.

Favorite Hairspray for hold in a pump is Rock Hard by Scruples.

P.S. I wear my hair down too!

:goodvibes I am 37 and I still consider those things!
I usually use a tinted moisturizer in the Summer months and make sure that I have a waterproof mascara, eye liner and then lip stick.

My hair is long and so I usually have a visor and put it up in a pony tail during the day time. I will wear it down in the evening of if we are going to dinner I may throw a few curls in.

Hope this helps! :thumbsup2

Maybe you could find her cute visor she would like?

Here's my take on the makeup.

Stila Smudge Pots stay on for days......she can put that on her eyes and they will stay there all day long.

I'm not a gloss wearer so I can't help there.

As for concealer - Benefit makes a concealer that is "industrial strength". I love it. And if she has a pimple then Benefit's Galactic shield will hide it and medicate it at the same time. I never leave home without it.

Hope that helps.

I love Bare Minerals. They have a concealer in 3 different shades. One should match!! And if she wears makeup, Bare Minerals does not slide off your face in Florida's heat & humidity.

Until two weeks ago, my hair was very long. The last two times I was at the parks, I did one of two things. If it was hot out or my somewhat wavy hair was not behaving, I would style it in two French braids that started about half-way down instead of right at the hairline. I found this looks cute and neat and not so little girlie. If the weather was tolerable, I would put the front of my hair back with two barrettes. This would keep my hair out of my face while leaving the rest of it free. I found an eight pack of Goody metal old-fashioned barettes that I love plus they are gentle on my hair and don't slip off. I would also carry a rubber band with me in case it got too hot so I could put it in a ponytail or in a little updo/bun. Combined with the barettes, it was a cute hairstyle.
Make-up wise, I have been using a tinted moisturizer with SPF. I am using Clinque City Shimmer right now but there are many to choose from and many can be found the drugstore. It evens out your skin tone while giving you some protection from the sun.

My hair suggestion: stay away from splash mountain :)
I was there in December and spent so much time flat ironing my hair, and a few drops of water from splash mountain was all it took to turn it into a frizzy mess

Put Biosilk Silk Therapy in your hair before and after blow-drying it. It`s amazing and helps fight against the Florida heat and humidity.

The humidity is horrible in Florida (and alabama, where I am) curling her hair is a waste of time in my opinion. Tell her to pull it up in a ponytail or a clip of some kind.
I use Clinique Almost Makeup during the summer here because it has sunblock and it is waterproof (for the water rides). I wear Lancome Hypnose waterproof mascara and Lancome waterproof eyeliner or I use a light white/pearl shadow that is waterproof so my makeup doesn't smudge. I use Lancome waterproof concealer too. I use a lip stain benetint or something like it, Lorac has one called sheerwash that I like it is waterproof, stays put, and is good for cheeks too. I usually put a clear gloss over that and keep the gloss with me and then I set everything with bobby brown powder. There is also something out there called She-laq I can't remember who makes it but you put it over your eyemakeup and it makes it waterproof, it is supposed to work really well.
So, there are my suggestions. I think about makeup a lot when I am going to be somewhere where a lot of picutures are taken and I might get wet or if I'm going to be outside all day.

I've got two words for you...

I agree! Biosilk Silk Therapy saves my hair in the FL humidity (along with my ceramic iron). I also LOVE LOVE LOVE the Biosilk hairspray - holds my hair in place all day long until I brush it out!!

Thanks so much for your responses! I am with the person who said crazy glue lol, we have been teasing her about her question but I probably worried a bit more about my appearance when I was her age too. She has never used biosilk but her little sis and I use it daily (we both have frizzy hair) and it works well. She has straight hair and its got some layers so she usually blowdrys and curls it but I cant imagine it holding the curl all day. She wears clinique makeup and has sensitive skin so I would worry about trying anything new so she decided to carry a few make up items with her so she can reapply before pics. She has been messing with her hair today, fixing it with updo styles and having her sis take pics to see if she will look good. Hopefully she will find something that works. Thanks again!
