I'm back for a quick update
Cassidy is still doing well - she's gaining weight and eating well. She has a check up 2 weeks from today where I will hopefully get a few more answers on if we should be exploring other avenues or just play the waiting game.
On a more fun note: I made our count-down calendar yesterday. In the past we've done chains - my longest was 9 months long!! lol I decided I wanted a more permanent one we could use over and over and this is what I came up with....
It's 99 Mickey Heads that I printed, colored and laminated. I made a path for us to travel to the Castle. Every morning someone gets to move "us" one Mickey Head closer.
Closer to the end - the Castle and our countdown calendar "final ring" that we've saved from past trips...
We're so ready - bring it on!! Though we've hit a minor snag - lol My Cassidy does NOT want to go unless we can stay at the Wilderness Lodge - lol I laugh, but it's not that funny. she is serious. She's very nervous about staying anywhere that she does not know just because she thinks it's going to be the hospital. She wants familiar.
I've been trying to show her videos of POR etc but she gets hysterical almost and rocks back and forth and says "I dont' want to go, I just want to stay home" But if I show her WL she will get excited and want to go to Disney. *sigh
Now, my husband just got his quarterly bonus and it was a very nice one so we "could" afford to stay, if we rented points, but I am SOOOOOOOO nervous to put that out there with her medical situation. ARG I am so mad that a regular room there is actually bigger than POR but can't sleep 5!!! SO frustrating.......so for now we're booked at POR and we're gonna work on her

Maybe a last minute point rental wouldn't be out of the question either.....
Funky thing happened last night too, that only you guys would understand. Annie (middle DD) had Girl Scouts last night. At the end, her leader was talking to her and asking how her sister was etc. Then she proceeded to grill my daughter about how many times she's been to Disney etc. And follows it up with a "You know how many times I've been to Disney - NONE" etc etc..... Now maybe grill isn't the right word, but she was kind of making a big deal out of it and my dd is NOT a person who likes attention drawn to her and was quite upset by it. My kids don't really talk about Disney that much - they know how lucky they are and don't want to hurt their friends feelings talking about it - so she was uncomfortable.
Just want to tell people that yes, Disney can be expensive, but we make sacrifices in other areas. This lady for example always has an expensive coffee in her hand, along with the latest phone. She wears very expensive clothes/shoes and her and her husband go to Mexico a lot. Now I am not saying ANY of this is bad - I'm a huge believer in spending your money on whatever makes you happy as long as your kids are fed, but duh, maybe you could go to Disney if you changed your spending in other areas! ARG - come to my house - see that we don't have base boards up yet, I wear some of the same shoes I did in high school, I have an old flip phone and we NEVER eat out. Again, my way isn't the only right way, but it's the way WE are able to go to Disney.
Sorry, rant over. lol I'm just not sure why so many people view Disney as this unattainable vacation destination when it's really not with some planning.
