My DS loves these books. I've not read them, but intend to. I guess Jim Carey will be playing Count Olaf. I'm not a Carey fan but I can see him doing that charicature quite well.

My DD is in 6th grade, going into 7th nkjzmom, but she said it was an easy fast read for her. I'd say pre-teens and up, it does have a lot of dark humor in it.

I know a person who is related to someone highly involved with this movie. I'm going to try and get on the movie set if they are shooting in New York like I originally heard. If I do, I'll be sure to report back all about it!

I LOVE these books! Started reading them about 2 and a half years ago. Read all in the series within a month i bet, and was actually a little scared to read Harry Potter for fear that they wouldn't be as good. Well i was wrong there. I love both books, however, sometimes i really hate turning books into movies idea. And i do not like Carey...his stupidity seems to be his humor. I hope they don't build the script around him.
