A Salute to All Orlando Area Theme Parks… But Mostly Walt Disney World ***THE END***

I just finished your lion-o-rama at AK!

Love your pictures in the Simba section at AK (I think I said that already)

Love, love, the picture of the sleeping male lion on safari

Love, love, love the picture with the lioness at BG! That is awesome!

Tigger is my favorite too! Great pictures of Kate and the 100 acre wood gang!

Too funny about your comment about Universal/IoA and cameras. I can't tell you how many times I heard "No Pictures" or "Put down the camera" that during our trip! But I can tell you how many times I followed the command...

0!!!

I'm a stockholder, too!!! I have 4 shares. And I am totally the one who got back "Paging Mr. Morrow. Mr. Tom Morrow" on the TTA! Yeah, that was my ownership influence.

;)

Glad you made it to MK! Looks like a few others made it too. Yikes!

MAAAGGGIIIC KINGDOMMMMM!!

I have to say, I am a HUGE lover of all things Walt, and I adore and love that he was able to create so much and had so much brilliance in that head of his, and I know most people would think that would make me like DLR more than WDW, BUT, Walt himself said that he didn't like what Anaheim had done to DLR, he didn't like all the cheap motels and signage and all the "junk" that came all around! That's why he bought so much land in Florida, so that they could actually control everything that was going on. And his hopes and dreams for Epcot, ack! Amazing! I will still walk all through WDW and think it's Walt's place, his park, and his dream, and it's so amazing!

Anyways...

I deeply disagree with the new monorail guy, and yes, new people to Disney think that I'm so weird about the monorail speech, but hey, it's awesome!

Katt, you nailed it and I couldn't agree more. I think we must watch all the same videos, lol. :goodvibes
One day I want to visit Celebration since that's basically what EPCOT was originally going to be.

I just think it's so awesome the connection people have with that speech. :thumbsup2

This picture is GREAT! :rotfl2:

As for driving under the fantastic Disney sign, I totally hear the angel harp music, too! (You're telling me that other people don't?!)

Bahahaha, thanks Jenny. It was so spontaneous.

Oh thank goodness you hear the harps too. We can be crazy together. :goodvibes

Another great update! I have to agree with others, been to both parties and we prefer MNSSHP! You know how you think you own the "D" in the sign, Shan and I think the party is for us because that's when our birthday's are:lmao: I can justify anything my friend, ever need help with that, I am here!

New voice on the monorail....WHAT????

Thanks Jacquie! Yes, having now done both, I have to agree as well. The Xmas Party is still pretty fantastic too, but MNSSHP was party:

Haha, I may take you up on that offer.

Yup, new monorail voice guy. The "Stand Clear of the Doors" guy is the same as it's always been (I would kill someone if they changed that), but the rest is the same dialogue but different voice. It changed I think last summer sometime. He's very boring. It was a bad decision!

I can totally relate about the angels singing when you go under that fantastic arch and reality just dissappears and you just let your cares melt away AHH... I want to go to that place.... :)

And the fall decorations are awesome too!

Oh yay, another harp hearer! It truly is amazing how everyday stuff just fades away there.

Oh I so agree. They really do a wonderful job on the decorations.

Thanks Dee. The lion experience was wonderful.

Yeah, we got some great interactions with Tigger and friends. There was virtually no line at all.

Ah Universal. They really do get the guest experience thing wrong. but I'll have a lot more to say on that subject in future updates. Good on you for taking your vacation into your own hands.

Hahaha, Mr. Tom Morrow. Nice job and thank you!

MK was indeed :crowded:

I just don’t think I’ll top that.

Wow! At least she wasn't hungry or you may have been missing a pinkie! That's a great photo.

[“Please Stand Clear of The Doors. Por Favor Manténgase Alejado de las Puertas”.

I cannot hear it and not get chills.
I cannot think it and not get chills.
Apparently, I cannot write it and not get chills.

Amen brotha!!! I need to get the Tshirt but I think I've only seen the men's version.

And to your point about MK being Walt's inspired park, not just D-land - I absolutely agree. :thumbsup2

You will never convince me that Magic Kingdom isn’t Walt’s park too.
He may never have walked in it, but his presence is all over it.
It was and is his vision.
Ahhh so true. :thumbsup2
I have a friend who's got a Disney share too. I've always wanted one!

I'm really enjoying your trip reports so far. It sounds like you had a fantastic time. Can't wait to read what you thought of the Halloween Party. I went in 2011 to that one for the first time and had a blast. Hoping to go again this year. :)

Haha, we invest in Disney (if we're going to spend all this money on Disney trips and merchandise, might as well make a little back, right?)... but I don't have this awesomely cool certificate! I know you can order them, so maybe we will at some point because they're pretty awesome!

I'm with you on the monorail spiel stuff. New guy just isn't the same... bah, oh well. At least we still have our lovely "Por favor mantenganse alejado de las puertas!" :cloud9:

This post got me SO excited for Disney during Halloween time! It'll be our first time checking out MNSSHP and seeing the park decorated for Halloween, so I can't wait!!

Happiness really IS walking in and seeing the castle... :goodvibes

Haha Thanks Brenda!

OMG the T-shirt. That was my first purchase on this trip. It was an absolute MUST HAVE! You should get it anyway. Women can get away with wearing men's clothes. Not so much the other way. :rotfl2: There's a TON of women's merch that I love the design of but just couldn't pull it off. :rolleyes1
There was another shirt I should have bought though, but I will for sure next time.

Yes for sure. It's not that I don't LOVE D-Land (though I've only been once). It's wonderful. For anyone that prefers it, I have no argument. But MK is Walt's park too. ::MickeyMo

Ahhh so true. :thumbsup2

Agreed!! ::yes::

You should definitely get one. The certificate is beautiful.

Thank you so much Jen! I'm so glad you posted. I truly appreciate it.
:welcome:

I loved MNSSHP and it will definitely be in a future update.
I hope to get back again this year as well!

Haha, nice justification there for sure. I really wish I had more. The share price is so much higher than I bought it for. I guess I made a little money, lol.

The certificate was my main reason. The site Oneshare has them and they are truly beautiful. You can even add an engraving I picked:
"That's the real trouble with the world, too many people grow up." - Walt Disney. This is for the kid inside.

It's one of my favourite Walt quotes and it really fit.

Yes, Thank goodness we can still stand clear of the doors safely. I really would be very upset if they redid that.

OMG Dani, you will LOVE MK in the fall. Like seriously it's spectacular. It's like seeing the park for the first time all over again. Not to mention MNSSHP. I really hope I make it back this year. I certainly plan to.

Seeing the castle is the most amazing thing in the world every time. It just never gets old.

ANIMALS, EXPEDITIONS, AND A FIREWORKS FINALE!
Day 3 – October 10, 2012 Part 6

When we last left off, I was super-cala-fraga-listic-expi-ala-excited to be back in place that started my life long love affair with WDW...

pixiedust: Magic Kingdom. pixiedust:

85.jpg

It’s Where Dreams Come True in case you didn’t know.

The first visit into the Kingdom on each and every trip just makes me fall in love with it all over again.

Priority one was to eat, after slowly walking down Main Street USA and taking a stroll through our beloved castle of course.

86.jpg

I love love love the Columbia Harbour House, so that’s where we headed.

After our eats of fried chicken fingers and fish combos, we jumped over to visit our favourite happy haunts at the Haunted Mansion.

87.jpg

On the short walk over, it clicked in my head that this would be my first time seeing the new hitch-hiking ghost sequence, and I became all the more excited.

It had opened just days after I left in 2011.

Literally DAYS!

And O…M…G… I…LOVED… IT!

Disney just keeps making this Magic Kingdom original better and better.

It is things like this that makes it easy to answer the question… “You’re going to Disney AGAIN?!”

“Yes, because there’s ALWAYS something new to experience and Oh Yeah, SHUT UP!!”

The Haunted Mansion truly holds a special place in my heart.

I remember vividly riding this as a child on one particular occasion with my father.

In the adjacent Doombuggie resided 2 teenage girls content in the knowledge that the Haunted Mansion wasn’t scary at all.

There was a particular spot where the buggies came close enough together that my father was able to reach out and grab one of the girls on the arm causing the loudest scream I have ever heard in my life.

Her scream caused the other one to scream.

We, on the opposite end of the spectrum, were laughing hysterically. :rotfl2:

It’s a good thing the lap bars exist, or I am convinced there would be 1001 happy haunts as part of the Mansion experience. Of course 1000 and 1001 may not have been so happy.

It was one of the funniest things I had ever seen (or heard) and it a wonderful Disney memory we still talk about to this very day.

From here we ventured over to Pirates of the Caribbean since I knew it would be one of the few attractions that would have a reasonable wait time.

88.jpg

Pirates just has a distinctly wonderful smell. It's unmistakable. A true classic.
I think it's time for a Pirates scented car freshener!

The weird thing is it should smell awful, but it doesn’t.

Disney Magic at work.

Unfortunately, most of the other waits around the park were really high, but honestly, I was just so happy to be there, I didn’t care.

I was perfectly content to just breathe in the atmosphere.

Magic Kingdom just makes me giddy. It’s like being drunk without the need for alcohol.

I was Disney Drunk!

We eventually made our way towards the front of the castle to get a spot for The Main Street Electrical Parade, pausing for a quick castle reflection in the water pic along the way.

TO BE CONTINUED…

OMG I HATE that question? Statement? Observation? Whatever it is. I get it from almost everyone. Your answer is great and true, but even still, the Disney haters just don't get it. :confused3

I adore the new HM hitchhiking ghosts. I love the smell in Pirates too! I thought I was the only one. I tend to have a really sensitive nose! :rotfl:

I totally get Disney Drunk, I even get silly sometimes. :hyper:

Another one who loves Pirate's smell and the coolness in there! :))
Love the pic of the castle's reflection!

Amen sista! It is indeed the most annoying question in the world. Thankfully, people who know me know better ;)

You are definitely not the only one. Disney smells are one of a kind.

It's the best kind of drunk I think! :thumbsup2

Love the pic of the castle's reflection!

It's so funny that others recognize the "Pirates Smell". Disney folk are truly amazing.

I wish it had been a bit calmer so the reflection is perfect, but thank you. :goodvibes

LOVE your pics! :goodvibes

Thanks you so much! I'm so glad you're following along.

YES! There is a distinct PoC smell!! Love it! You know you are in a yo-ho, yo-ho happy place when you smell that bleechy, watery, whatever it is smell!

Funny story about HM - your dad's a character! I have yet to get the ghosts that switches your head with theirs. Disney perfection! :thumbsup2

See, this is why I :lovestruc the DIS so much. Everybody gets my insane ramblings of smells and such.

Oh indeed he is Brenda. It was truly a classic Disney memory.
One of the things I really like about the new HM end is that there are multiple endings. Although you could have my luck and get the same one over and over (like the Gangster on Movie RIde and Pod Race on Star Tours).

BTW, as a follow up to a prior comment about the monorail shirt. I know you read Kristen's final mega-updates and in there you will notice the monorail shirts. Soooo, you should feel no issue with getting one yourself next trip! The men's shirt is completely gender neutral and Frump approved. :thumbsup2.

Ahhh I can just smell Pirates right about now.... So true, it should smell disgusting in there, but yet it never does!

I am so ready to get Disney Wasted!!!:lmao:

It's just so amazing to me to see how so many others share the same feelings towards things like the Monorail spiel and the Pirates smell.
You would just never think it.
It's amazing and awesome!

Disney drunk is WAY better than regular drunk that's for sure! :thumbsup2

Ok that update had me laughing out loud! Couldn't agree with you more on CHH, it's our favourite CS at MK! The HM story cracked me up and I read to Shanleigh and she said "that's not funny" ...let me explain...in 2002 we went with friends who had no children but were desperate to experience WDW so they came along with us. Shanleigh refused to sit with Kevin as he tormented her the whole time so she said with his wife and Kevin and I got in the buggy behind them. That part you're talking about...Kevin was able to grab Shanleigh there and she has never forgotten it!:rotfl2: To this day she sits smack dab in the middle of the doom buggy as I am squished to one side!

Haha, thanks Jacquie.

Please pass along my sincere apologies to Shanleigh for bringing back such bad memories for her. :rolleyes1

That's too cute that even to this day she won't sit on the outside on the seat. I wonder if my father's joke had the same effect on those young ladies. :rotfl:
