A Safari Christmas Goes Pop! (w/pics)

With our first day fairly free, now we're looking at so many menus to see where we may want to eat our first night. We'll probably be in DTD, but we can pretty much go anywhere outside the parks. We went from looking at menu after menu, to not being able to decide which one to go to, to deciding to do take-out, from a great Italian place over here, for dinner tonight! How much time is left?

We also discussed our return trip. If you remember, we said we'd come back in November, since I get a week off during the Food and Wine Festival. But, my DH said that if we can book early, while we're there in December, and get free dining in August, we may do that. We'd book somewhere like the Beach Club, so we'd have that great pool recreational area during the heat of day, and enjoy the parks during the early hours and late afternoon/evening hours. So, we'll just have to wait and see. While we'd like to go there during November, if we can get free dining, who can pass that up, right?

Oh, man! We have 2 months, 1 week and 1 day left. I wonder what sort of Disney thoughts will fill my mind between now and then. Thank God for work, church, Thanksgiving and get-togethers with friends, to keep me busy! Oh, yeah! I'm also going away Friday and Saturday to a women's conference with my church. Now, time is really flying!!!! Do I sound convinced?

So, I've been checking out other threads and came across a thread on picking a pearl. I have seen these before, in Japan and DTD. I really think I will try this, this time. Have any of you ever done this before? I think it would be fun!

I picked a pearl during our Sept. trip. I felt so special, it was such a unique thing for me to do. Ilove my pearl. Everyone has complemented it. It looks absolutely beautiful!! I think you should do it.

Today, we are officially 1 month, 3 weeks and 6 days away from going to WDW!!! I can't believe we are under the two month mark. Too cool!!!

I was so crazy swamped this week. It's been hectic. I had parent-teacher conferences Wednesday through Friday. Then, yesterday, a physical fight happened in my last class between two boys maybe seven minutes before the end of the day!!! So you don't get the wrong impression, the last time I encountered this was 11 years ago when I worked at the high school. It was definitely a shocker, but at least everyone has the weekend to cool off.

On, to more pleasant things. . .we cannot wait to go on this trip. We are just now trying to figure out dinner for our first night. We are considering Fulton's, Portobello's Yacht Club, or simply winging it. Any suggestions? We're totally open.

We definitely know we'll be going to DTD and we want to see Santa while we're there. On our last trip, we never saw him. We didn't even know he was there! So, we must do it this time.

I just wish I knew if it's going to be more towards the warm side or the cool side. I suppose there's still time to figure that one out!

I'm hoping warm, but with the unexpected cold weather we began getting yesterday up where I live (in NJ) and seeing temps in the 40s in Orlando, I'm starting to think it's going to be cooler than I expected. Yesterday, we actually got snow over here! That hasn't happened during this time of year in over 30 years!!! Amazing.

Warm or cold, I just can't wait to get to WDW!

Yeah, I heard there was more snow in parts of NY and PA, then we got here, in NJ. I just keep reminding myself that cold weather means winter, and winter means our WDW trip!!!

Snow in October was totally weird! It's been rather chilly over here. 30s and low 40s at night and early morning. The highs have ranged from 50s to 60s.

wdwgirl03 -- Flurries one week and 70s the next? That is an absolute formula for sickness.

I could do without the cold, but can't wait to celebrate the holidays and our anniversary at WDW, either!!!

We may want to eat down there or back at the resort. Right now, we're considering the Cookes of Dublin for dinner. We've never been there before. It was fun planning another part of our trip. With less than seven weeks to go, it's getting harder to wait till our departure date!

For us, we have the convenience of it just being the two of us, so we could leave when we choose. But, you'll still get to enjoy your first day, once you arrive. You'll be there in just a few weeks!!!

My DH made the final payment for the trip this morning!!! Now, we're all official. My DH was going to wait till he got home tonight to make the final payment, but then he surprised me by taking care of it on his way into work. In fact, just before he gave his info to make the payment, he lost his connection. So, the CM called our place, hoping to get him. When she got me, she told me what happened, and I figured out what he was doing and gave the CM his cell number. The CM told him that she was so afraid, when his DW answered the phone, that she might potentially be ruining a surprise trip. She said that many people do surprise trips for the holidays, and she was afraid she might be ruining it for us. Thankfully, that wasn't te case. That could have been bad.

I'm just so glad that we got it all taken care of!!!! I can't wait to get our final trip stuff in the mail.

I was checking out the restaurant section of the boards and was so happy to learn that you can request turkey sausage, in place of the pork sausage, they offer for breakfast, at Ohana. For health reasons, my DH tries to stay away from pork sausage, so we are thrilled! If we encounter this situation in other restaurants, we may go ahead and ask for turkey sausage, as an alternative. It's great that they are so accomodating.
