tonight Friday at 12:40 I left my house to go pick my mom up at the Smallisbury (Salisbury) airport. When we arrived home at 1:10 we found, to our horror, one of the four kittens who have taken residence under our back porch had been hit by a car:sad2: :sad1: :sad1: :sad1: :sad1:

Honestly this is the second "pet" I've lost in this neighborhood. I am so mad at the world today!!1 who honestly sees a kitten about a month old and doesn't slow down!!! this is a 25 MPH road!!!!! why does life have to be so mean!!!I am so sad right now and don't know how to explain my confusion. We don't really have too much contact with these kitties b/c they are wild and like there mother don't trust humans too well. But I have watched them grow, fed them, watched them play with each other. I have only really been close to them while feeding them and even then kept a certain distance away so they could actually eat in peace.

I just wanted to say R.I.P TJ

we love you!!!!

Aw, poor kittie!! I'm sorry. Unfortunately, the kitten is so small and I know they run fast, so fast that the car probably didn't see it. I'm sorry.

the thing that really got me is he looks just like MY cat Taz! we think he was the father but we had him fixed when he was young? but recently we are thinking they didn't do it right, cause that kitty looked like Taz when he was that age:sad1: :sad1:

Oh Katie,

I am so sorry for the loss of TJ. He was such a cute kitty. I am a cat lover myself. Lots of pixie dust to you. pixiedust:

I'm very sorry, but this could have been prevented.

Bring those cats inside if you intend to keep them, or take them to the SPCA so they can find a safe home. Cats should not be left outside! Since they are young, they can still be socialized and have long happy lives in a safe home.

According to some authorities, a cat that is permitted outdoors has an average life expectancy of 3 to 5 years; conversely, the average life expectancy of an indoor cat is about 15 years.

I understand this point but we cannot get close enough to catch the cats and our supply store doesn't have catch them alive traps till later this month!!!! and in wicomico county cats are free roam animals and animal control won't come get them so we were waiting for the store to get the traps in stock!!!
