A Rumblee in my Tumblee Pre-Trip Report

The clothes are so cute!! I love the Wall-E luggage, your DS will fell like a big boy rolling that around!

I always pack Emily a Disney bag for the flight. We have a portable DVD player. I have a princess and Cars travel size Color Wonder coloring thing. Stickers, pipecleaners, princess and Mickey & gang figurine dolls, books and I have one of these: http://www.leemagicpen.com/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=70&products_id=300 which I actually found at Bob Evans! I need to get some Disney Dollars, do they still sell those?

we get our disney dollars at the Disney Store at our mall. We gave my son a wallet with Mickey on it for his last Airplane "Disney Kit" and he still has it and he is so excited. He got some disney dollars for his birthday so his wallet is filling up. This way he can spend his own money and feel like a big boy on the trip! - We are so bad... we let him pick out one gift every day of our trips - i will have to post a picture of all his toys from our last trip!

ok.. here it is!

Thanks! I work down the street from the South Shore Plaza so maybe I'll go there for lunch tomorrow. The website says the scorpions but they look like lobsters to me.

I just checked and the ones I bought are actually from Target not the Gap- they were 8.99 and they are lobsters! Here is the picture of them!

Thanks! Did you get those at a store? South Bay? I bought my DS some nice quick dry pull on shorts at the Stoughton Target a week ago.

You've reminded me that my DD(9) has a pair of boy's Land End embroidered shorts that don't fit her anymore. They have palm trees on them. I have palm tree fabric to make my DS a shirt for our Narcoosees dinner. I'll have to see if they would go together OK.

Did you manage to stay warm for the commute home? My office is high on a hill and it was so COLD walking to my car. I'm so done with this winter stuff!

Our kids will be styling for their Narcoosees dinners! I have already been prepping my 5 year old saying that we are going to a special grown up dininer for Daddys birthday! Which night are you going to Narcoosees?

I got them at the Target on Route 1 (Saugus I think)

I actually work on the waterfront in Boston and walk to the Orange line and it is a COLD walk!! I am done with this weather too!

I love those shorts! I'll have to check at my Target for them!

We are going on Friday night-May 8th. My DS is my best eater so I really think he'll enjoy it. I also get an ADR at 5:30 so he isn't too tired and cranky. The cards really do help.

Here's an example of the cards in 4x6 size but I think they work better in 5x8 as the 4x6 can be hard for little ones to color.

Of course being a "disboutiquer" I made these too:

WOW I am impressed!!! That is very cool:-)

I love those shorts! I'll have to check at my Target for them!

I got them a couple of weeks ago- I got size 2T for my little guy. He is kind of 18-24 months but they have adjustable waist on them (i love the adjustable waist on the kids clothes... why dont they have that for my size!?)

LOVE the clothing!! DH has a pair of lobster shorts, too. They're his WDW/Florida vacation shorts. So cute!

Hi! I havent seen you on here in awhile. I will have to remember and take a picture of the boys in their lobster shorts while we are at Narcoosees and post in my Trip Report.

I work Monday -Thursday and have Friday off with my boys. Today DH is home too because we have to take the dog to the Vet and DS has his dentist appointment at the same time. I am hoping today to be able to leave my oldest son with his daddy so that I can go over to the Disney Store and pick up some stuff for their "Airplane Disney Kits". I will have to post some pictures of what I get later.

I also want to go over to Old Navy and get some stuff for me- I was looking online this morning and they have these really cute shorts (like my boys lobster ones - but no lobsters... just the stripes- and a cute shirt with little ruffles on the shoulders. Hmmm.... I may just have to go do some more Disney Shopping for me!

I am so happy its not snowing!! Its actually going to get to 50 this weekend. On Saturday we turn the clocks ahead an hour. I wonder what that means for my boys who wake up at 6am every day. Are they going to be getting up at 5:scared1: ??? That will not be good.

Well I am off for a fun day with the boys. Tonight I have a Girls Night Out! We are going to Border Cafe for some Margaritas and apps! YUM:thumbsup2 - For those of you that remember I was trying WW - yeah it's not going so well...

Sounds like you have a nice day ahead of you. I hope you find some good buys! Mom's night out sounds really good to me. Have a good time. Just remember how many points a large margarita is:rolleyes1 Maybe you should have straght tequilla instead:laughing:

Well I am back from the Disney Store and Grocery Store...of course no Old Navy for me. (Mom's come last I guess!) By the time we were done with the Disney Store Nightmare (more later on this) The kids were spent and I still had to go to the Grocery Store so we skipped Old Navy:scared: and went to the Grocery Store and then went home. Now both kids are napping:cloud9: and I have a few minutes to sit down and relax and what better place to do that!? Right here on the DIS!!!

Well as soon as we got to the mall I realized I forgot my stroller:scared1: I was thinking "I can just hold their hands, we should be fine" YEAH RIGHT... Two kids - under the age of 5 - in THE DISNEY STORE! There was no way I was getting either of them to hold my hand. They were crazy in there, running all over the place and mostly so happy and dancing. There is this HUGE screen and the Jonas Brothers were on- so both my boys singing away and dancing as if it was their livingroom. It was cute but the sales lady was pretty annoyed with us. I heard her say on the phone to someone "sorry I can't hear you there are kids in here screaming" :sad2:

So I was able to sneak in a few purchases for the boys airplane kits. I will post the pictures of the stuff this weekend hopefully. They had these reusable Mickey and Wall-E bags for $2.50 (canvas tote bags) and they were so cute and I thought they would be the perfect thing to put each of the boys airplane goodies in, so I bought one for each of them. - The lady had a hard time grasping that I wanted a bag to put them in. She was like- "just put your stuff in these- that is the PURPOSE" and I was like, "listen lady- these are surprises for my kids- just put them in a bag for me!!" She was pretty happy when we left!! Sorry for the long vent - Phew! Feel much better now:)

New subject... STROLLER DEBATE!

Here are my choices and I have to say if I can find one I am leaning towards my first choice!

Note- I really dont want to rent at Disney because we have a rental car. So it would stink to have to carry two sleeping kids and all our stuff through those parking lots. Also keep in mind we need a stroller for the airport. We have two car seats- 4 carry on bags - 2 little kids (hee!) and I cant even imagine lugging all that w/o a stroller to put it all on.

1st choice) 2 Umbrella Strollers that recline that I can connect/disconnect
This would be great I think because we only need the double stroller at night when my 5 year old will want to sleep/rest. But will he be comfortable or is he too big? and will my 19 month old sleep in this if it only reclines a little or not at all?? Also- will they be protected from the sun at all???

2) Side by side double stroller
I will have to purchase new unless I can find at a second hand store (which i am looking for) BUT is this going to be too big and most of the time I really only need a stroller for the baby. My 5 year old will probably sit in it at the parade or for a rest but also probably wouldnt miss it if it wasnt there. He really needs it just for night.- I plan on spending some time in Epcot with DH while the two boys are snug in the strollers- sleeping! :cloud9: Am I dreaming?

3) just my single stroller that reclines from home
Maybe I would just rent the double stroller for the Epcot night and the one late night planned at MK.

HELP!!!!

HELP!!!!

Bummer you didn't get to go to ON, moms always come last :sad2: ! Maybe oldnavy.com!! They have free shiping right now!!

I wouldn't feel bad about the Disney Store. If you're working at the Disney store, you've got to expect screaming, excited kids! I can't wait to see what you got for the boys. I'm going to the Disney store on Sunday. I would go sooner, but the closest one is 45 min away and I have to go that was for a baby shower on Sunday anyway. I'm actually looking forward to the Disney store more than the shower!!

As far as the strollers, I think if you have 2 reclining strollers already that are comfortable for you to push long distances, then go with those. You can always buy the stroller connectors to make it a double. Your 19 month old will sleep in the stroller even if it's not fully reclined. Last year, Emily was 22mo and slept fine in our Maclaren which doesn't recline all the way. Even at 2 1/2 she'll sleep in it when we are out. I think even at 5, your big guy is going to want some time in the stroller. Heck, I wish I had a stroller to climb into sometimes at Disney!!:rotfl:

Ok, this is hysterical because I went through some similar stroller drama with our trip. Reminder from my PTR http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1891886&page=2

I was very happy with the stroller that I purchased. It's a Jeep double and the seats do recline. I think I paid around $80 for it which is quite less than what I would have paid to rent one there. And I use the thing every day! My situation is a bit different though because you have an older child. If you don't think he's going to be in it that much then just bring your single and rent the double at night like you said. But then you will have to carry sleeping kids to the car. This would be miserable I'm sure. I love the Jeep because it folds up just as small as a regular umbrella stroller. The only drawback is that there is not much shade. I ended up taking the canopies off that it came with because they were such a pain. I don't recall having issues with the sun though so it worked ok.

So funny, you're having your very own stroller saga:rotfl: Sorry, not laughing at you. I vote for bringing your own double!:thumbsup2

Hope you have a fun night tonight!!!!

The clerk a the Disney Store sounds like a crank! Hope you make it to Old Navy. I may have to go check them out online if they have free shipping. I am on the search for shorts and it isn't easy. I just want basic kahki shorts that aren't too long or too short and don't have a lot of extra stuff on them like cargo pockets or something. Oh and I want them to fit well and be under $50 (actually I want them under $30) but I haven't had very good luck. I ordered some from J Jill as they didn't have my size in the store. I'm hoping that fit well and I'm going to try to forget how much I paid for them.

Strollers....I have had this problem on lots of trip. Our first family trip my oldest was 3 1/2, my son turned 3 and baby was 11 months. We've been on 5 more trips since. On our last trip they were 9, 7 and 5. We were finally down to just one stroller on that trip.

This would be my advice: Take the stroller you have now for your 2 year old and buy a MacLaren Volo for the 5 year old. The Volo doesn't recline but it will be fine for a 5 year old. It is so light, has a carry strap, has a shade and is easy to push. I bought mine from here:
http://www.babye-store.com/

The 2007 version comes with a rain cover-the newer ones you have to buy an accessory pack to get that.

I have gone through so many strollers trying to find the perfect one. I had a travel system with my first one. Got a Graco Duo Glider with my 2nd. Had a MacLaren Rally Twin for Disney but my youngest HATED that thing-she hated sitting that close to a sibling and it was a big stroller to drag around. I have to say the best stroller I ever had was a Peg Perego Pliko P3-it has a running board on the back for an older child but my 5 year didn't need that big of a stroller any more. The Volo was perfect for my 5 year old. I bought it for a solo trip with her last May and then we used it again for our summer family trip. I would have paid as much in rental fees on the one trip with her as I did for this stroller and I was really glad to have it for the walk to the bus stops. The Volo would work great for your 5 year old and I bet you'd find yourself using it for mall trips with the 2 year old too when you got home. Plus when your boys are older and you just need one stroller the Volo would be perfect.

When I was WDW in January I notice they changed the rental strollers. They are the same basic hard plastic things but they are so much smaller now. I couldn't believe how small they were given how expensive they are now.

Good luck with the stoller decision. It is one I have gone through many times.

Thanks for the info! It was a debate for us last time because I had an 8 week old and a 3 year old! Last time we ended up with the baby carrier and a single stroller. Now I look back and think I should have gotten a double stroller then and I think I would have got a lot of uses out of it!

Have fun at the Disney Store this weekend. Blah baby showers... I went to one two weeks ago. I just dont like being forced to watch someone open a bunch of gifts and the "ooh and agh". (just me though... I dont like wedding showers either!)

I think my stroller debate has been answered. (Maybe!)
One of my good friends has a Maclaren double umbrella stroller and it reclines. She said her boys have pretty much outgrown it and she said it's ours to use for the trip! I am excited and think it will work great BUT I really dont like using people's things. I would be so upset if someone stole it or if my kids ruined it.

Ok, so here is a picture of the airplane kits I am making for the boys. I still want to pick up some little disposable camera's, disney dollars, and a few more things but here is an idea of what they will look like! I got them each a little tote bag ($2.50) from the Disney Store, and each a small plush animal, a T-shirt, a couple of tubby toys, coloring books, a Wall-E crayon/marker kit, some glow sticks for the night shows (Illuminations, Spectro, Wishes)

What do you think!?

disboard002.jpg

I love it! And I love those color kit thingys. Where did you get them? And I am the wrong person to be asking about glow toys. I bought enough to illuminate an army! They will come in handy though.:thumbsup2
