May I kindly ask that people REFRAIN from reciting the narration in the Haunted Mansion pre-show?? Pretty please? On my last trip, I enjoyed this classic Disney attraction 3 times. EVERY TIME, adults in the pre-show room recited the narration - thus detracting from other guest experiences! Look, I've been going to Disney since the late 1970's, so I also know the narration by heart. But I'd NEVER dream of spoiling it for other guests! I'm not even talking about children. I only saw adults ruining the experience for others. I'm sure that these guests thought that they were 'showing off' by reciting the lines, but folks.............it's just plain rude! Please just keep your thoughts to yourself and refrain from being 'foolish mortals'! ;)

I hear you. Sometimes going to Disney is a lesson in just letting things you can't control go, even though they impact your experience. I definitely struggle with it...even more so when people take pictures on the HM with a flash. Deep breaths...

It's the same with TOT. ALWAYS someone or else a group that talks through the whole entire narrative...

The first time I went into Haunted Mansion I heard so much chatter that the mood of the room was ruined for me, but not as much as others think it might have. I wished that people would've shut their traps so that I could fully experience everything with my own ears and not through someone else's lips, but, as someone else basically points out: no one cares because "they're having fun."

I think this is nowhere near as bad as the JC guests who need to recite the punch line of the jokes...BEFORE the skipper does.

I thought I'd be smart once on JC when the skipper asked the boat how we could tell it was an African elephant. I told him "Because we're in Africa." He said, "No, it's the shape of their ears." You can't win on JC! In this instance I was prompted by the Skipper though and I don't give the punchlines away to anyone else.

I also don't recite the HM narration, even though I could. I prefer to act like every time is the first time and look surprised. Sometimes though, usually with a late night crowd, everybody is reciting it, and that's kinda fun too. That's the more hardcore pro crowd though.

Never had that happen on HM. The most I've had happen on ToT is at the end there will be several people who chime in with "THE TWILIGHT ZONE." But honestly, who can resist that?! Doesn't bother me.

Now something that DID bother me, in a slightly different vein, was some idiot who decided to whip out his iPhone and turn the flashlight on as our elevator was moving forward into the dropzone. You know, where it's pitch black and you can hear the elevator creaking and that creepy music right before it goes silent... That's such a great moment and he totally killed it by turning his flashlight on. I was hoping he would accidentally drop it down the shaft somehow.

I personally get annoyed by the adults who think it's funny to scream at the top of their lungs in the elevator. I understand the ride is Haunted Mansion but come on. HM is my favorite ride and when I had AP at Disneyland I went on it way more times than I care to admit, so I have probably been exposed to the screaming and carrying on way too many times. When we were at Disney World last year we actually asked a CM to let us skip the elevator because I knew the screaming and carrying on in the elevator would have scared my daughter. My choice to keep going on the ride, I know that, I just wish that sometimes people would consider those around them. Then again, I'm sure I probably have some Disney habits that annoy people as well.

"Tonight’s story on The Twilight Zone is somewhat unique and calls for a different kind of introduction. This, as you may recognize, is a maintenance service elevator still in operation, waiting for you. We invite you, if you dare, to step aboard because in tonight’s episode, you are the star. And this elevator travels directly to…The Twilight Zone.”

There's a slight pause just before he says The Twilight Zone. Just long enough to say "The Gift Shop". Gets a laugh every time.

I went to a musical (traveling Broadway level) and the person next to me was singing along - out loud! I DEFINITELY did not pay to hear her sing.

Ohh, I don't think I've heard that before! Frustrating I'm sure.

That is probably the most offensive breach of etiquette mentioned with regards to Disney attractions. Because you are interrupting the flow of an actual performer. However, in the case of the Haunted Mansion and Tower of Terror, you are just reciting with a recording.

I admit that I recite it...but under my breath. It's part of the fun for me to see if I can say it correctly from trip to trip.

I admit...Im guilty..me and my 12yr old son do it..but we dont do it loud.....its just a fun thing we do and will continue to do...sorry. People are just to sensitive these days..lol
LOL I don't think it's a big deal to do it quietly to yourself. I'm talking about guests who overpower the narrator so I can barely hear him. lol
