I (well me and 10 of my bestest 6 y/o friends) will be making apple pies today at 4:00pm. Since I am not a baker with the exception of pillsbury chocalate chip cookes, I printed the first recipe that came up on a google search. I went and bought the following ingredients. apples, nutmeg, cinamon, butter, sugar and the pie crusts. They were listed on the recipe. Upon further inspection, I notice, the recipe just lists the ingredients and not the actual directions. Can you help with the assembly.

Thank you from the worlds Most UNORGANIZED, UNCRAFTY, UNBAKABLE brownie leader:wave:

I hope this helps. This is a pretty basic recipe:)

2 (9 inch) unbaked pie crusts
7 cups peeled, cored and sliced apples
1 cup white sugar
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/8 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1/4 teaspoon salt
2 tablespoons butter

1. Preheat oven to 425 degrees F (220 degrees C).

2. In a bowl combine apples, sugar, flour, cinnamon, nutmeg and salt. Place mixture in a pastry-lined 9 inch pie plate. Dot with butter and adjust top crust that has been vented. (That means lay it on top, crimp the edges with a fork to keep them together, and cut a few slits in the top to let out steam)

3. Place in oven and bake at 425 degrees F (220 degrees C) for 10 minutes. Turn oven temperature down to 275-300 degrees F (135-150 degrees C) and bake 40-50 minutes or until crust is golden brown and apples are tender. Let cool and serve.

bekkiz's recipe looks great, I just had one suggestion. It takes a while to peel, core and slice all those apples. You might want to do that ahead of time and toss them with some lemon juice so they don't brown. That way with the Brownies get there, you can mix the spices and flour and such, have the girls assemble them and then pop them in the oven without a lot of standing around. Have fun!
